Existence theory of the nonlinear plate equations

This paper is devoted to the theoretical analysis of the nonlinear plate equations in $\mathbb{R}^{n}\times (0,\infty),$ $n\geq1,$ with nonlinearity involving a type polynomial behavior. We prove the existence and uniqueness of global mild solutions for small initial data in $L^{1}(\mathbb{R}^{n})\cap H^s(\mathbb{R}^{n})$-spaces. We also prove the existence and uniqueness of local and global solutions in the framework of Bessel-potential spaces $H^s_p(\mathbb{R}^n)=(I-Δ)^{s/2}L^p(\mathbb{R}^n).$ In order to derive the existence results we develop new time decay estimates of the solution of the corresponding linear problem.

On the management fourth-order Schrödinger-Hartree equation

We consider the Cauchy problem associated to the fourth-order nonlinear Schrödinger-Hartree equation with variable dispersion coefficients. The variable dispersion coefficients are assumed to be continuous or periodic and piecewise constant in time functions. We prove local and global well-posedness results for initial data in $H^s$-spaces. We also analyze the scaling limit of fast dispersion management and the convergence to a model with averaged dispersions.

Time-decay and Strichartz estimates for the Benjamin-Bona-Mahony equation and existence of solutions on modulation spaces

In this paper we derive time-decay and Strichartz estimates for the generalized Benjamin-Bona-Mahony equation on the framework of modulation spaces $M^s_{p,q}.$ We use this results to analyze the existence of local and global solutions of the corresponding Cauchy problem with rough data in modulation spaces. The results improve known results in Sobolev spaces in some sense.

On the Schrödinger equations with isotropic and anisotropic fourth-order dispersion

This paper deals with the Cauchy problem associated to the nonlinear fourth-order Schrödinger equation with isotropic and anisotropic mixed dispersion. This model is given by the equation $i\partial _{t}u+εΔu+δA u+λ|u|^αu=0,$ $x\in \mathbb{R}^{n},$ $t\in \mathbb{R},$ where $A$ represents either the operator $Δ^2$ (isotropic dispersion) or $\sum_{i=1}^d\partial_{x_ix_ix_ix_i},\ 1\leq d<n$ (anisotropic dispersion), and $α, ε, λ$ are given real parameters. We obtain local and global well-posedness results in spaces of initial data with low regularity, such as weak-$L^p$ spaces. Our analysis also includes the biharmonic and anisotropic biharmonic equation $(ε=0)$ for which, the existence of self-similar solutions is obtained as consequence of his scaling invariance. In a second part, we investigate the vanishing second order dispersion limit in the framework of weak-$L^p$ spaces. We also analyze the convergence of the solutions for the nonlinear fourth-order Schrödinger equation $i\partial _{t}u+εΔu+δΔ^2 u+λ|u|^αu=0$, as $ε$ goes to zero, in $H^2$-norm, to the solutions of the corresponding biharmonic equation $i\partial _{t}u+δΔ^2 u+λ|u|^αu=0$.

Nonlinear Stability for the Periodic and Non-Periodic Zakharov System

We prove the existence of a smooth curve of periodic traveling wave solutions for the Zakharov system. We also show that this type of solutions are nonlinear stable by the periodic flow generated for the system mentioned before. An improvement of the work of Ya Ping is made, we prove the stability of the solitary wave solutions associated to the Zakharov system.

Nonlinear Stability of Periodic Travelling Wave Solutions for the Regularized Benjamin-Ono and BBM Equations

This paper has various goals: first, we develop a local and global well-posedness theory for the regularized Benjamin-Ono equation in the periodic setting, second, we show that the Cauchy problem for this equation (in both periodic and non-periodic case) cannot be solved by an iteration scheme based on the Duhamel formula for negative Sobolev indices, third, a proof of the existence of a smooth curve of periodic travelling wave solutions, for the regularized Benjamin-Ono equation, with fixed minimal period 2L, is given. It is also shown that these solutions are nonlinearly stable in the energy space $H^{1/2}_{per}$ by perturbations of the same wavelength. Finally, an extension of the theory developed for the regularized Benjamin-Ono equation is given and as an example it is proved that the cnoidal wave solutions associated to the Benjamin-Bona-Mahony equation are nonlinearly stable in $H^1_{per}$.
