Gravitational GateWave: Gravitational waves as LFO modulation amplitude

We present an audio gate plugin that uses real gravitational wave strain data from the LIGO and Virgo detectors as low frequency oscillator (LFO) modulation sources. Conventional audio gates rely on synthetic waveforms, sine, triangle, sawtooth, whose fixed harmonic content produces predictable pumping effects. By contrast, gravitational wave chirps from compact binary coalescences sweep through frequency and amplitude on subsecond timescales; when time scaled to LFO rates (0.1 to 10)Hz, these chirps yield modulation signals with continuously evolving harmonic structure. The plugin demonstrates that astrophysical signals can serve as musically compelling modulation sources, bridging sonification and creative audio processing.

Gravitational DePhaser: A Temporal Gravitational Lensing Model for Creative Audio Processing

Classical delay, chorus, and reverb effects model multiple pro- pagation paths using discrete delays or statistical distributions. This work proposes a model inspired by gravitational lensing, where an audio signal is treated as a wave packet traversing a temporally distorted potential rather than physical spacetime. The distortion generates multiple effective propa- gation paths with different delays, phases, and gains, producing controlled constructive and destructive interference.

Astrophysical Narratives: Poetic Representations of Gamma-Ray Emission from FermiLAT via Markov Chains

The intersection of art and science offers novel ways to interpret and represent complex phenomena. This project explores the convergence of high-energy astrophysics, concrete poetry, and natural language processing (NLP) by proposing a Markov chain-based algorithm that generates poetic texts from gamma-ray emission maps of the universe. Gamma rays, the most energetic form of electromagnetic radiation, arise from violent astrophysical processes such as supernovae, pulsars, and black hole accretion, observable through instruments like the \textit{Fermi Large Area Telescope} (FermiLAT). These high-energy events are mapped and processed into matrices, treated as Markov chains, where each state's transition probability is determined by the intensity of gamma-ray sources in a region of interest.

Polyrhythmic Harmonies from the Sky: Transforming Satellite Images of Clouds into Musical Compositions through Algorithms

In a context of increasing scientific specialization and deficiencies in the scientific literacy of the population, there arises a need to broaden the methods of scientific dissemination. This study proposes an approach that combines music with scientific concepts, focusing on the sonification of satellite images as the core. A generative musical composition system is developed that uses visual data to create accessible and emotional auditory experiences, thus enriching the fields of scientific dissemination and artistic expression. It concludes with an example of the algorithm's use in a musical composition.
