$b-τ$ Yukawa Unification in SUSY SU(5) with Mirage Mediation: LHC and Dark Matter Implications

We consider a class of $b-τ$ Yukawa unified Supersymmetric (SUSY) $SU(5)$ GUTs, in which the asymptotic gaugino $M_{1,2,3}$ masses are generated through a combination of gravity and mirage mediated supersymmetry breaking. Due to the contributions from mirage mediation, $M_{3}$ is always lighter than M_{1} and M_{2}, and consequently for the range of asymptotic masses considered, the gluino mass at low scale is bounded from above at about 4 TeV. We realize two different regions, one in which the MSSM $μ-$term is less than about 3 TeV. This region yields a stop mass up to 5 TeV, and the stop mass is nearly degenerate with the LSP neutralino for mass around 0.8 to 1.7 TeV. A stau mass can be realized up to about 5 TeV, and the stau mass is approximately degenerate with the LSP neutralino for mass around 2 to 3 TeV. In addition, an A-funnel solution $m_{A}$ with mass $\sim 1.4-1.8$ TeV is realized. A second region, on the other hand, arises for gluino around 1.1 TeV. The $μ-$term is rather large than 20 TeV, and the LSP neutralino is a bino-wino mixture. The gluino mass ($\sim 0.8-1.2$ TeV) is nearly degenerate with the LSP neutralino mass and hence, the gluino-neutralino coannihilation processes play a role in reducing the relic abundance of LSP neutralino down to ranges allowed by the current WMAP measurements. The two regions above can be distinguished through the direct detection experiments. The first region with relatively low $μ$ values yields Higgsino-like DM, whose scattering on the nucleus typically has a large cross-section. We find that such solutions are still allowed by the current results from the LUX experiment, and they will be severely tested by the LUX-Zeplin experiment. The second region contains bino-wino DM whose scattering cross-section is relatively low. These solutions are harder to rule out in the foreseeable future.

Charged Higgs in MSSM and Beyond

We conduct a numerical study over the constrained MSSM (CMSSM), Next-to-MSSM (NMSSM) and $U(1)$ extended MSSM (UMSSM) to probe the allowed mass ranges of the charged Higgs boson and its dominant decay patterns, which might come into prominence in near future collider experiments. {We present results obtained from a limited scan for CMSSM} as a basis and compare its predictions with the extended models. We observe within our data that a wide mass range is allowed as $0.5(1) \lesssim m_{H^{\pm}} \lesssim 17$ TeV in UMSSM (NMSSM). We find that the dominant decay channel is mostly $H^{\pm}\rightarrow tb$ such that ${\rm BR}(H^{\pm}\rightarrow tb) \sim 80\%$. While this mode remains dominant over the whole allowed parameter space of CMSSM, we realize some special domains in the NMSSM and UMSSM, in which ${\rm BR}(H^{\pm}\rightarrow tb) \lesssim 10\%$. In this context, the decay patterns of the charged Higgs can play a significant role to distinguish among the SUSY models. In addition to the $tb$ decay mode, we find that the narrow mass scale in CMSSM allows only the decay modes for the charged Higgs boson to $τν$ ($\sim 16\%$), and their supersymmetric partners $\tildeτ\tildeν$ ($\sim 13\%$). On the other hand, it is possible to realize the mode in NMSSM and UMSSM in which the charged Higgs boson decays into a chargino and neutralino pair up to about $25\%$. {This decay mode requires non-universal boundary conditions within the MSSM framework to be available, since CMSSM yields ${\rm BR} (H^{\pm}\rightarrow \tildeχ_{1}^{0}\tildeχ_{1}^{\pm}) \lesssim 1\%$.} It can also be probed in near future collider experiments through the missing energy and CP-violation measurements...

Light Stops and Fine-Tuning in MSSM

We discuss the fine-tuning issue within the MSSM framework. Following the idea that the fine-tuning can measure effects of some missing mechanism, we impose non-universal gaugino masses at the GUT scalem and explore the low scale implications. We realize that the fine-tuning parametrized with Delta_EW can be as low as zero. We consider the stop mass with a special importance and focus on the mass scales as m_stop <=700 GeV, which are excluded by current experiments when the stop decays into a neutralino along with a top quark or a chargino along with a b quark. We find that the stop mass can be as low as about 200 GeV with Delta_EW ~ 50. We find that the solutions in this region can be exluded only up to 60% when stop decays into a neutralino-top quark, and 50% when it decays into a chargino-b quark pair. Setting 65% CL to be potential exclusion and 95% to be pure exclusion limit such solutions will be tested in near future experiments, which are conducted with higher luminosity. In addition to stop, the region with low fine-tuning and light stops predicts masses for the other supersymmetric particles such as m_sbottom >~ 600 GeV, m_stau >~ 1 TeV, m_chargino >~ 120 GeV. The details for the mass scales and decay rates are also provided by tables of benchmark points.

Least Fine-Tuned U(1) Extended SSM

We consider the Higgs boson mass in a class of the UMSSM models in which the MSSM gauge group is extended by an additional U(1)' group. Implementing the universal boundary conditions at the GUT scale we target phenomenologically interesting regions of UMSSM where the necessary radiative contributions to the lightest CP-even Higgs boson mass are significantly small and LSP is always the lightest neutralino. We find that the smallest amount of radiative contributions is about 50 GeV in UMSSM, this result is much lower than that obtained in MSSM, which is around 90 GeV. Additionally, we examine the Higgs boson properties in these models to check if it can behave similar to the SM Higgs boson under the current experimental constraints. We find that enforcement of smaller radiative contribution mostly restricts the U(1)' breaking scale as v_S <~ 10 TeV. Besides, such low contributions demand h_S ~ 0.2 - 0.45. Because of the model dependency in realizing these radiative contributions theta_E_6 < 0 are more favored, if one seeks for the solutions consistent with the current dark matter constraints. As to the mass spectrum, we find that stop and stau can be degenerate with the LSP neutralino in the range from 300 GeV to 700 GeV; however, the dark matter constraints restrict this scale as m_stop, m_stau >~ 500$ GeV. Such degenerate solutions also predict stop-neutralino and stau-neutralino coannihilation channels, which are effective to reduce the relic abundance of neutralino down to the ranges consistent with the current dark matter observations. Finally, we discuss the effects of heavy M_Z' in the fine-tuning. Even though the radiative contributions are significantly low, the required fine-tuning can still be large. We comment about reinterpretation of the fine-tuning measure in the UMSSM framework, which can yield efficiently low results for the fine-tuning at the electroweak scale.

Muon g-2 in an Alternative Quasi-Yukawa Unification with Low Fine-Tuned Inverse SeeSaw Mechanism

We explore the low scale implications of the Pati-Salam Model including the TeV scale right-handed neutrinos interacting and mixing with the MSSM fields through the inverse seesaw (IS) mechanism in the light of the muon anomalous magnetic moment (muon g-2) resolution, and highlight the solutions which are compatible with the Quasi-Yukawa Unification condition (QYU). We find that the presence of the right-handed neutrinos causes heavy smuons >~ 800 GeV in order to avoid tachyonic staus at the low scale. On the other hand, the sneutrinos can be as light as about 100 GeV along with the light charginos of mass <~ 400 GeV, they can yield so large contributions to muon g-2 that the discrepancy between the experiment and the theory can be resolved. In addition, the model predicts relatively light Higgsinos (<~ 700 GeV); and hence the second chargino mass is also light enough (<~ 700 GeV) to contribute to muon g-2. Light Higgsinos also yield less fine-tuning at the electroweak scale, and the regions compatible with muon g-2 restricts Delta_EW <~ 100 strictly, and this region also satisfies the QYU condition. In addition, the ratios among the Yukawa couplings should be 1.8 <~ y_t/y_b <~ 2.6, y_tau/y_b ~ 1.3 to yield correct fermion masses. Even though the right-handed neutrino Yukawa coupling can be varied freely, the solutions bound its range to 0.8 <~ y_nu/y_b <~ 1.7.

Light Higgsinos, Heavy Gluino and $b-τ$ Quasi-Yukawa Unification: Will the LHC find the Gluino?

A wide variety of unified models predict asymptotic relations at $M_{GUT}$ between the b quark and $τ$ lepton Yukawa couplings. Within the framework of supersymmetric SU(4) $\times$ SU(2)$_L \times$ SU(2)$_R$, we explore regions of the parameter space that are compatible with b-$τ$ quasi-Yukawa unification and the higgsinos being the lightest supersymmetric particles ($\lesssim$ 1 TeV). Among the colored sparticles, the stop weighs more than 1.5 TeV or so, whereas the squarks of the first two families are signifcantly heavier, approaching 10 TeV in some cases. The gluino mass is estimated to lie in the 2-4 TeV range which raises the important question: Will the LHC find the gluino?

Just a Scalar in THDM

We review the THDM model in which one of the Higgs doublets does not develop a vacuum expectation value. In this case, the Higgs fields with zero VEV does not contribute to the physical masses of the SM particles, and hence, its interactions with the SM particles can have more freedom than in the case of usual considerations on the THDM models. We show that the stability of the Higgs potential minima can be maintained. All the Higgs boson masses are found lighter than about 300 GeV in the low scale spectrum when v_1=0. Such light mass scales are in the detectable regime, and hence, the SM predictions and the experimental results are essential to be applied in the analyses. Especially the decay channels; h-->W^+ W^- and h-->bb exclude most of the solutions, while it is still possible to realize a small region, which coincides with the SM predictions. We highlight that it is also possible to realize an excess in h--> gamma gamma decay channel, even one applies the constraints from the Higgs boson decays into W^+ W^- and bb. In addition, if one assumes H is the SM-like Higgs boson of mass about 125 GeV, the solutions with m_h <~ 125 GeV can be acceptable. In this case, the solutions can still be realized consistent with the SM predictions; however, an excess in H --> gamma gamma cannot be observed, while the implications for this channel in THDM can stay in the SM prediction rates at most. Even though the light masses of the Higgs bosons can be favored in resolution to discrepancy between the Standard Model and the experiment in the muon anomalous magnetic moment measurements, we find that it is not possible to accommodate such a resolution with BR(b --> s gamma) results simultaneously.

Muon g-2 in GMSB with Adjoint Messengers

We explored the sparticle mass spectrum in light of the muon g-2 anomaly and the little hierarchy problem in a class of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking model. Here the messenger fields transform in the adjoint representation of the Standard Model gauge symmetry. To avoid unacceptably light right-handed slepton masses the standard model is supplemented by additional U(1)_B-L gauge symmetry. Considering a non-zero U(1)_B-L D-term leads to an additional contribution to the soft supersymmetry breaking mass terms which makes the right-handed slepton masses compatible with the current experimental bounds. We show that in the framework of Lambda_{3}<0 and mu < 0, the muon g-2 anomaly and the observed 125 GeV Higgs boson mass a can be simultaneously accommodated. The slepton masses in this case are predicted to lie in the few hundred GeV range, which can be tested at LHC. Despite the heavy colored spectrum the the little hierarchy problem in this model can be ameliorated and electroweak fine tuning parameter can be as low as 10 or so.

Gauge Mediation Models with Adjoint Messengers

We present a class of models in the framework of gauge mediation supersymmetry breaking where the messenger fields transform in the adjoint representation of the Standard Model gauge symmetry. To avoid unacceptably light right-handed sleptons in the spectrum we introduce a non-zero U(1)_B-L D-term. This leads to an additional contribution to the soft supersymmetry breaking mass terms which makes the right-handed slepton masses compatible with the current experimental bounds. We show that in this framework the observed 125 GeV Higgs boson mass can be accommodated with the sleptons accessible at the LHC, while the squarks and gluinos lie in the multi-TeV range. We also discuss the issue of the fine-tuning and show that the desired relic dark matter abundance can also be accommodated.

Large BR(h -> tau mu) in Supersymmetric Models

We analyze the Lepton Flavor Violating (LFV) Higgs decay h -> tau mu in three supersymmetric models: Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), Supersymmetric Seesaw Model (SSM), and Supersymmetric B-L model with Inverse Seesaw (BLSSM-IS). We show that in generic MSSM, with non-universal slepton masses and/or trilinear couplings, it is not possible to enhance BR(h -> tau mu) without violating the experimental bound on the BR(tau -> mu gamma). In SSM, where flavor mixing is radiatively generated, the LFV process mu -> e gamma strictly constrains the parameter space and the maximum value of BR(h -> tau mu) is of order 10^-10, which is extremely smaller than the recent results reported by the CMS and ATLAS experiments. In BLSSM-IS, with universal soft SUSY breaking terms at the grand unified scale, we emphasize that the measured values of BR(h -> tau mu) can be accommodated in a wide region of parameter space without violating LFV constraints. Thus, confirming the LFV Higgs decay results will be a clear signal of BLSSM-IS type of models. Finally, the signal of h -> tau mu in the BLSSM-IS at the LHC, which has a tiny background, is analyzed.

Quasi Yukawa Unification and Fine-Tuning in U(1) Extended SSM

We consider the low scale implications in the U(1)' extended MSSM (UMSSM). We restrict the parameter space such that the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) is always the lightest neutralino. In addition, we impose quasi Yukawa unification (QYU) at the grand unification scale (M_GUT). QYU strictly requires the ratios among the yukawa couplings as y_t/y_b ~ 1.2, y_tau/y_b ~ 1.4, and y_t/y_tau ~ 0.8. We find that the need of fine-tuning over the fundamental parameter space of QYU is in the acceptable range (Delta_EW <= 10^3), even if the universal boundary conditions are imposed at M_ GUT, in contrast to CMSSM and NUHM. UMSSM with the universal boundary conditions yields heavy stops (m_{stop} >~ 2.5 TeV), gluinos (m_gluino >~ 2 TeV), and squarks from the first two families (m_squarks >~ 4 TeV). Similarly the stau mass is bounded from below at about 1.5 TeV. Despite this heavy spectrum, we find Delta_EW >~ 300, which is much lower than that needed for the minimal supersymmetric models. In addition, UMSSM yield relatively small mu-term, and the LSP neutralio is mostly form by the Higgsinos of mass >~ 700 GeV. We obtain also bino-like dark matter (DM) of mass about 400 GeV. Wino is usually found to be heavier than Higgsinos and binos, but there is a small region where mu ~ M_1 ~ M_2 ~ 1 TeV. We also identify chargino-neutralino coannihilation channel and A-resonance solutions which reduce the relic abundance of LSP neutralino down to the ranges compatible with the current WMAP measurements.

Reconciling Muon g-2, 125 GeV Higgs and Dark Matter in Gauge Mediation Models

We present a class of models in the framework of gauge mediation supersymmetry breaking where the standard model is supplemented by additional U(1) symmetry which acts only on the third generation fermions. The messenger fields carry non-trivial U(1) charge and are vector-like particles under this symmetry. This leads to additional contribution to the soft supersymmetry breaking mass terms for the third generation squarks and sleptons. In this framework we show that the muon g-2 anomaly, the observed 125 GeV Higgs boson mass and the detected relic dark matter abundance (gravitino in our case) can be simultaneously accommodated. The resolution of the muon g-2 anomaly, in particular, yields the result that the first two generation squark masses, as well the gluino mass, should be <~ 2.5 TeV, which will be tested at LHC14.

Mass Spectrum and Higgs Profile in BLSSM

We investigate the predictions on the mass spectrum and Higgs boson decays in the supersymmetric standard model extended by U(1)_B-L symmetry (BLSSM). The model requires two singlet Higgs fields, which are responsible for the radiative breaking of U(1)_B-L symmetry. It predicts degenerate right-handed neutrino masses (1.7-2.2 TeV) as well as the right-handed sneutrinos of mass <~ 4 TeV. The presence of right-handed neutrinos and sneutrinos trigger the baryon and lepton number violation processes, until they decouple from the Standard model particles. Besides, the model predicts rather heavy colored particles; stop and sbottom massesare >~ 1.5 TeV, while stau mass >~ 100 GeV and chargino mass >~ 600 GeV. Even though, the implications are similar to minimal supersymmetric standard model, BLSSM can predict another Higgs boson lighter than 150 GeV. We find that the second Higgs boson can be degenerate with the lightest CP-even Higgs boson of mass about 125 GeV and contribute to the Higgs decay into two photons. In addition, it can provide an explanation for the excess in h -> 4l at the mass scale ~ 145 GeV.

Muon Anomalous Magnetic Moment in SUSY B-L Model with Inverse Seesaw

Motivated by the tension between the Higgs mass and muon g-2 in minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM), we analyze the muon g-2 in supersymmertic B-L extension of the standard model (BLSSM) with inverse seesaw mechanism. In this model, the Higgs mass receives extra important radiative corrections proportional to large neutrino Yukawa coupling. We point out that muon g-2 also gets significant contribution, due to the constructive interferences of light neutralino effects. The light neutralinos are typically the MSSM Bino like and the supersymmetric partner of U(1)_B-L gauge boson (B'-ino). We show that with universal soft supersymmetry breaking terms, the muon g-2 resides within 2 sigma of the measured value, namely ~17 x 10^-10, with Higgs mass equal to 125 GeV .

Generalized Soft Breaking Leverage for the MSSM

In this work we study implications of additional non-holomorphic soft breaking terms (mu', A'_t, A'_b and A'_tau) on the MSSM phenomenology. By respecting the existing bounds on the mass measurements and restrictions coming from certain B-decays, we probe reactions of the MSSM to these additional soft breaking terms. We provide examples in which some slightly excluded solutions of the MSSM can be made to be consistent with the current experimental results. During this, even after applying additional fine-tuning constraints the non-holomorphic terms are allowed to be as large as hundreds of GeV. Such terms prove that they are capable of enriching the phenomenology and varying the mass spectra of the MSSM heavily, with a reasonable amount of fine-tuning. We observe that higgsinos, the lightest stop, the heavy Higgs boson states A, H, charged H, sbottom and stau exhibit the highest sensitivity to the new terms. We also show how the light stop can become nearly degenerate with top quark using these non-holomorphic terms.

Neutralino Dark Matter and Other LHC Predictions from Quasi Yukawa Unification

We explore the dark matter and LHC implications of t-b-tau quasi Yukawa unification in the framework of supersymmetric models based on the gauge symmetry G=SU(4)_{c}\times SU(2)_{L}\times SU(2)_{R}. The deviation from exact Yukawa unification is quantified by a dimensionless parameter C (|C| <~ 0.2), such that the Yukawa couplings at M_GUT are related by y_t:y_b:y_tau=|1+C| : |1-C| : |1+3C|. In contrast to earlier studies which focused on universal gaugino masses, we consider non-universal gaugino masses at M_GUT that are compatible with the gauge symmetry G. We perform two independent scans of the fundamental parameter space, one of which employs ISAJET, while the other uses SoftSusy interfaced with SuperIso. These scans reveal qualitatively similar allowed regions in the parameter space, and yield a variety of neutralino dark matter scenarios consistent with the observations. These include stau and chargino coannihilation scenarios, the A-resonance scenario, as well as Higgsino dark matter solution which is more readily probed by direct detection searches. The gluino mass is found to be <~ 4.2 TeV, the stop mass is >~ 2 TeV, while the first two family squarks and sleptons are of order 4-5 TeV and 3 TeV respectively.

Yukawa Unification and Sparticle Spectroscopy in Gauge Mediation Models

We explore the implications of t-b-tau (and b-tau) Yukawa coupling unification condition on the fundamental parameter space and sparticle spectroscopy in the minimal gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking (mGMSB) model. We find that this scenario prefers values of the CP-odd Higgs mass m_A > 1 TeV, with all colored sparticle masses above 3 TeV. These predictions will be hard to test at LHC13 but they may be testable at HE-LHC 33 TeV or a 100 TeV collider. Both t-b-tau and b-tau Yukawa coupling unifications prefer a relatively light gravitino with mass < 30 eV, which makes it a candidate hot dark matter particle. However, it cannot account for more than 15 % of the observed dark matter density.

Stop on Top: SUSY Parameter Regions, Fine-Tuning Constraints

We analyze minimal supersymmetric models in order to determine in what parameter regions with what amount of fine-tuning they are capable of accomodating the LHC-allowed top-stop degeneracy window. The stops must be light enough to enable Higgs naturalness yet heavy enough to induce a 125 GeV Higgs boson mass. These two constraints imply a large mass splitting. By an elaborate scan of the parameter space, we show that stop-on-top scenario requires at least Delta_CMSSM ~ O(10^4) fine-tuning in the CMSSM. By relaxing the CMSSM parameter space with nonuniversal Higgs masses, we find that Delta_NUHM1 ~ O(10^4). The CMSSM with gravitino LSP works slightly better than the NUHM1 model. Compared to all these, the CMSSM with mu<0 and nonuniversal gauginos yield a much smaller fine-tuning Delta_{mu,g} ~ O(100). Our results show that gaugino sector can pave the road towards a more natural stop-on-top scenario.
