Ground state solutions of fractional Schrödinger equations with potentials and weak monotonicity condition on the nonlinear term

In this paper we are concerned with the fractional Schrödinger equation $(-Δ)^α u+V(x)u =f(x, u)$, $x\in \rn$, where $f$ is superlinear, subcritical growth and $u\mapsto\frac{f(x, u)}{\vert u\vert}$ is nondecreasing. When $V$ and $f$ are periodic in $x_{1},\ldots, x_{N}$, we show the existence of ground states and the infinitely many solutions if $f$ is odd in $u$. When $V$ is coercive or $V$ has a bounded potential well and $f(x, u)=f(u)$, the ground states are obtained. When $V$ and $f$ are asymptotically periodic in $x$, we also obtain the ground states solutions. In the previous research, $u\mapsto\frac{f(x, u)}{\vert u\vert}$ was assumed to be strictly increasing, due to this small change, we are forced to go beyond methods of smooth analysis.

Ground state sign-changing solutions for a class of nonlinear fractional Schrödinger-Poisson system in $\mathbb{R}^{3}$

In this paper, we are concerned with the existence of the least energy sign-changing solutions for the following fractional Schrödinger-Poisson system: \begin{align*} \left\{ \begin{aligned} &(-Δ)^{s} u+V(x)u+λϕ(x)u=f(x, u),\quad &\text{in}\, \ \mathbb{R}^{3},\\ &(-Δ)^{t}ϕ=u^{2},& \text{in}\,\ \mathbb{R}^{3}, \end{aligned} \right. \end{align*} where $λ\in \mathbb{R}^{+}$ is a parameter, $s, t\in (0, 1)$ and $4s+2t>3$, $(-Δ)^{s}$ stands for the fractional Laplacian. By constraint variational method and quantitative deformation lemma, we prove that the above problem has one least energy sign-changing solution. Moreover, for any $λ>0$, we show that the energy of the least energy sign-changing solutions is strictly larger than two times the ground state energy. Finally, we consider $λ$ as a parameter and study the convergence property of the least energy sign-changing solutions as $λ\searrow 0$.

Standing waves for the Chern-Simons-Schrodinger equation with critical exponential growth

In this paper, by combing the variational methods and Trudinger-Moser inequality, we study the existence and multiplicity of the positive standing wave for the following Chern-Simons-Schrödinger equation \begin{equation} -Δu+u +λ\left(\int_{0}^{\infty}\frac{h(s)}{s}u^{2}(s)ds+\frac{h^{2}(\vert x\vert)}{\vert x\vert^{2}}\right)u=f(x,u)+εk(x)\quad\quad \text{in}\,\,\mathbb{R}^2, \\ \end{equation} where $h(s)=\int_{0}^{s}\frac{l}{2}u^{2}(l)dl$, $λ>0$ and the nonlinearity $f:\mathbb{R}^2\times \mathbb{R}\rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ behaves like $\text{exp}(α\vert u\vert^{2})$ as $\vert u\vert\rightarrow \infty$. For the case $ε=0$, we can get a mountain-pass type solution.

A logarithmic Schrödinger equation with asymptotic conditions on the potential

In this paper we consider a class of logarithmic Schrödinger equations with a potential which may change sign. When the potential is coercive, we obtain infinitely many solutions by adapting some arguments of the Fountain theorem, and in the case of bounded potential we obtain a ground state solution, i.e. a nontrivial solution with least possible energy. The functional corresponding to the problem is the sum of a smooth and a convex lower semicontinuous term.

Observation of interlayer phonon modes in van der Waals heterostructures

We have investigated the vibrational properties of van der Waals heterostructures of monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), specifically MoS2/WSe2 and MoSe2/MoS2 heterobilayers as well as twisted MoS2 bilayers, by means of ultralow-frequency Raman spectroscopy. We discovered Raman features (at 30 ~ 40 cm-1) that arise from the layer-breathing mode (LBM) vibrations between the two incommensurate TMD monolayers in these structures. The LBM Raman intensity correlates strongly with the suppression of photoluminescence that arises from interlayer charge transfer. The LBM is generated only in bilayer areas with direct layer-layer contact and atomically clean interface. Its frequency also evolves systematically with the relative orientation between of the two layers. Our research demonstrates that LBM can serve as a sensitive probe to the interface environment and interlayer interactions in van der Waals materials.
