Holographic complexity of de-Sitter black holes

We investigate holographic complexity within the Schwarzschild-de Sitter (SdS) black hole spacetime. Two distinct de Sitter holography prescriptions are examined: the static patch scheme restricted to the stretched horizon and the de Sitter/Conformal Field Theory (dS/CFT) correspondence scheme defined at asymptotic future and past infinities. We evaluate the Complexity equals Volume (CV) conjecture and extend the analysis to codimension-zero proposals, specifically Complexity equals Spacetime Volume (CV2.0) and Complexity equals Action (CA), through the Wheeler-DeWitt (WDW) patch we construct. The behaviors of the complexity in the static patch holography at late time and in the dS/CFT at infinite spacelike boundary coordinate are studied, respectively. We find that under both the CV and CV2.0 conjectures, the static patch holographic complexity and the dS/CFT holographic complexity consistently exhibit linear growth. Conversely, regarding the CA conjecture, the holographic complexity growth rates for both the static patch and the dS/CFT correspondence vanish. This behavior is attributed to the finiteness of the (regularized) action within the restricted WDW region. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that the complexity growth rate of the static patch scheme is identical to that in the dS/CFT scheme. This equivalence implies the existence of a unified description for bulk dynamics within de Sitter holography.

Revisiting thermodynamic topologies of black holes

In the generalized off-shell free energy landscape, black holes can be treated as thermodynamic topological defects. The local topological properties of the spacetime can be reflected by the winding numbers at the defects, while the global topological nature can be classified by the topological number which is the sum of all local winding numbers. We propose that the winding numbers can be calculated via the residues of isolated one-order pole points of characterized functions constructed from the off-shell free energy. Using the residue method, we show that the topologies of black holes can be divided into three classes with the topological numbers being -1, 0, and 1, respectively, being consistent with the results obtained in [Phys. Rev. Lett. 129, 191101 (2022)] by using the topological current method. Moreover, we point out that standard defect points, generation and annihilation points, and critical points can be distinguished by coefficients of the Laurent series of the off-shell characterized function at those singular points.

Holographic complexity of rotating black holes with conical deficits

Based on the complexity equals action (CA) and complexity equals volume (CV) conjectures, we investigate the holographic complexity of a slowly accelerating Kerr-AdS black hole in the bulk Einstein gravity theory which is dual to holographic states with rotation and conical deficits in the boundary quantum system. Upon obtaining an implicit form of the Wheeler-DeWitt patch, we evaluate the action and show that the growth rate of the CA complexity violates volume-scaling formulation in large black hole limit due to the non-trivial contribution from the not-too-small acceleration of the black hole. Moreover, in an ensemble with fixed entropy, pressure, and angular momentum, we also find that complexity of formation decreases with both the average and difference of the conical deficits on the poles when the black hole is close to the static limit but increases with the deficits when the black hole is close to the extremal regime.

Higher dimensional Reissner-Nordström black holes supporting static scalar shells

We analytically study scalarization of higher-dimensional charged Reissner-Nordström (RN) black hole. It is shown that static massive scalar field which is non-minimally coupled to Gauss-Bonnet invariant can be supported by higher-dimensional black hole in super-critical charge regime $Q/M\ge \bar{C}_d$ with $Q, M$ charge and mass of the black hole and $\bar{C}_d$ some unitless spacetime dimension-dependent quantity. Moreover, we show that the static massive scalar shell can be quite thin in the large mass regime $μM^{\frac{1}{d-3}}\gg 1$ with $μ$ mass of the scalar field.

Scalar-hairy Lovelock gravity respects zeroth law

We study the zeroth law for Killing horizon in scalar-hairy Lovelock gravity, and show that the surface gravity of a general Killing horizon in the scalar-hairy Lovelock gravity is constant, provided that the dominant energy condition is obeyed by the matter field.
