The regular tree Anderson model at low disorder

We prove delocalization for the Anderson model on an infinite regular tree (or Cayley graph or Bethe lattice) at low disorder. This extends earlier results of Klein and Aizenman--Warzel by filling in the previously missing parts of the spectrum. Our argument generalizes to any disorder with small fourth moment and sufficiently regular density. We prove continuity of the Lyapunov exponent as the disorder vanishes.

Random band matrix localization by scalar fluctuations

We show the eigenvectors of a Gaussian random band matrix are localized when the band width is less than the 1/4 power of the matrix size. Our argument is essentially an optimized version of Schenker's proof of the 1/8 exponent.

The limit shape of convex hull peeling

We prove that the convex peeling of a random point set in dimension d approximates motion by the 1/(d + 1) power of Gaussian curvature. We use viscosity solution theory to interpret the limiting partial differential equation. We use the Martingale method to solve the cell problem associated to convex peeling. Our proof follows the program of Armstrong-Cardaliaguet for homogenization of geometric motions, but with completely different ingredients.

Stability of patterns in the Abelian sandpile

We show that the patterns in the Abelian sandpile are stable. The proof combines the structure theory for the patterns with the regularity machinery for non-divergence form elliptic equations. The stability results allows one to improve weak-* convergence of the Abelian sandpile to pattern convergence for certain classes of solutions.

Localization near the edge for the Anderson Bernoulli model on the two dimensional lattice

We consider a Hamiltonian given by the Laplacian plus a Bernoulli potential on the two dimensional lattice. We prove that, for energies sufficiently close to the edge of the spectrum, the resolvent on a large square is likely to decay exponentially. This implies almost sure Anderson localization for energies sufficiently close to the edge of the spectrum. Our proof follows the program of Bourgain--Kenig, using a new unique continuation result inspired by a Liouville theorem of Buhovsky--Logunov--Malinnikova--Sodin.

A free boundary problem with facets

We study a free boundary problem on the lattice whose scaling limit is a harmonic free boundary problem with a discontinuous Hamiltonian. We find an explicit formula for the Hamiltonian, prove the solutions are unique, and prove that the limiting free boundary has a facets in every rational direction. Our choice of problem presents difficulties that require the development of a new uniqueness proof for certain free boundary problems. The problem is motivated by physical experiments involving liquid drops on patterned solid surfaces.
