PLSR: Progressive and Localized Super-Resolution of 3D Objects via Localized Latent Voxel Diffusion

High-resolution 3D asset generation is vital in various 3D applications. Existing state-of-the-art diffusion-based models remain constrained by fixed resolutions, limiting their ability to produce details. In this paper, we tackle the challenge of generating more detailed, higher-resolution 3D objects by introducing a 3D super-resolution (SR) framework built on existing 3D generative foundation models. To this end, we design PLSR, a progressive and localized super-resolution solution to achieve this goal effectively and memory efficiently. Technically, given a coarse geometry from a pretrained 3D generator, we decompose the global SR task into localized sub-tasks via an associative input decomposition scheme, adapt a flow-based 3D generator into a localized super-resolution model through low-cost finetuning, and unify them in an iterative patch-wise denoising pipeline for seamless high-resolution output. Experiments on challenging objects show that our approach is able to generate 3D details with new strong fine-detail fidelity while significantly reducing the computational cost, offering a new and practical solution for high-resolution 3D asset generation.

ATOM: Geometry-Aware Microgesture towards Object-Agnostic Tangible Interaction

This paper presents ATOM, an integrated framework towards agnostic and tangible object interactions with microgestures. Our goal is to support microgesture interactions across different everyday objects, with the capability to automatically leverage the geometric affordance of each object. We formulate a fingertip-aware detection pipeline to leverage generative 2D and 3D models for geometry enhancement and refinement. We then introduce a usability-based method to prioritize the detected elements based on their ergonomic suitability for interactions. Building on this foundation, we further develop an AR system to transform everyday handheld objects into tangible user interfaces with 0D, 1D, and 2D microgesture interactions. Across transitions among everyday cooking objects of varying shapes and sizes, ATOM outperformed ablation baselines in task completion, usability (SUS), and workload (NASA-TLX). A further study with 10 objects demonstrates ATOM's generalizability across objects and grasps, highlighting its potential towards fluid, object-agnostic tangible interaction in real-world AR scenarios.

LiverPlan: A Stage-Adaptive Immersive Visual Analytics Framework for Anatomical Liver Surgical Planning

Anatomical liver resection (ALR) surgery is the most important treatment for liver cancer, yet preoperative planning demands complex, multi-stage clinical reasoning under competing safety constraints. Current 2D desktop tools are not well equipped to support this process, exhibiting three fundamental limitations: reliance on monolithic interfaces that fail to adapt to the distinct cognitive demands of each planning stage; a perceptual bottleneck caused by limited anatomical spatial representation and missing plane-vessel intersection visualization; and an attention bottleneck stemming from fragmented critical safety criteria display across separate views. We present LiverPlan, a stage-adaptive immersive visual analytics framework for ALR planning, grounded in an 8-month collaboration with two expert hepatobiliary surgeons. Decomposing the surgical planning process into three sequential yet cognitively distinct stages, LiverPlan externalizes the cognitive demand of each stage via tailored techniques: (1) context-preserving focus and hue-preserving rendering for anatomical discovery; (2) direct 3D resection plane manipulation coupled with real-time, embedded visual feedback on critical safety criteria during plan refinement; and (3) explicit plane-vessel intersection visualization for anticipatory surgery preparation. A within-subjects study with eight hepatobiliary surgeons against a desktop baseline shows large-effect-size improvements in task completion time, perceived cognitive workload, and system usability on controlled planning tasks. Moreover, our study reveals broader insights: LiverPlan reduces cognitive burden and encourages a shift in surgeons from merely satisfying safety criteria to actively optimizing them, suggesting that explicit visualization of spatial relationships lowers the cognitive barrier to complex surgical planning.

CNS-Edit++: Category-Agnostic 3D Editing with Coupled Neural Shape Representation

This paper presents a latent-space 3D shape editing framework built upon a coupled neural shape (CNS) representation and a neural feature volume optimization. This work extends CNS-Edit, built on Coupled Neural Shape optimization, to CNS-Edit++, by generalizing the category-specific coupled representation to category-agnostic 3D shape editing with foundation models. The Coupled Neural Shape (CNS) representation couples a global latent code that captures high-level shape semantics with a 3D neural feature volume that provides spatial context for local shape manipulation. Then we formulate a coupled neural shape optimization procedure that co-optimizes these two components subject to a given editing operation. Our framework can be instantiated on both the category-specific 3D inversion model and category-agnostic 3D foundation models. We provide various shape editing operators, including copy, resize, delete, mix, point-wise drag, and region-wise drag, each of which is formulated as an objective to guide the CNS optimization. To preserve regions outside the editing area, we further introduce two complementary region-wise control mechanisms, i.e., KV-cache replacement and latent feature regularization. Extensive quantitative and qualitative evaluations across different 3D generative models demonstrate the strong capabilities of our approach over state-of-the-art solutions.

Native Active Perception as Reasoning for Omni-Modal Understanding

Passive models for long video understanding typically rely on a "watch-it-all" paradigm, processing frames uniformly regardless of query difficulty, causing computational cost to grow with video duration. Although interactive frameworks have emerged, they often rely on global pre-scanning, and their context cost still scales with video length. We propose OmniAgent, the first native omni-modal agent that formulates video understanding as a POMDP-based iterative Observation-Thought-Action cycle. OmniAgent executes on-demand actions to selectively distill audio-visual cues into a persistent textual memory, effectively decoupling reasoning complexity from raw video duration. To operationalize this, we introduce (1) Agentic Supervised Fine-Tuning to bootstrap native active perception via best-of-N trajectory synthesis with dual-stage quality control, and (2) Agentic Reinforcement Learning with TAURA (Turn-aware Adaptive Uncertainty Rescaled Advantage), which leverages turn-level entropy to steer credit assignment toward pivotal discovery turns. Crucially, OmniAgent exhibits positive test-time scaling, where performance improves as the number of reasoning turns increases, validating the efficacy of active perception. Empirical results across ten benchmarks (e.g., VideoMME, LVBench) demonstrate that OmniAgent achieves state-of-the-art performance among open-source models. Notably, on LVBench, our 7B agent outperforms the 10$\times$ larger Qwen2.5-VL-72B (50.5% vs. 47.3%).

EPS3D: End-to-End Feed-Forward 3D Panoptic Segmentation

This paper introduces EPS3D, a new end-to-end feed-forward framework for open-vocabulary 3D panoptic segmentation. Unlike existing methods relying on additional preprocessing, we design an end-to-end architecture, with a distillation-based training strategy on diverse 3D scenes to predict 3D-aware semantic and instance features from multi-view images, improving 3D consistency and avoiding error accumulation. We further propose a mutual enhancement module to enforce inherent semantic-instance consistency. By aligning semantics within instances (Ins2Sem) and refining instance features with semantic guidance (Sem2Ins), we achieve more coherent 3D scene understanding. Ultimately, EPS3D outperforms SOTA baselines on two benchmarks (e.g., +13% mIoU for semantics on Replica) with high efficiency (e.g., 1s per scene), supporting tasks like robotic manipulation and 3D scene editing.

CHOIR: Contact-aware 4D Hand-Object Interaction Reconstruction

We ask whether everyday open-world monocular videos can be turned into reusable 4D interaction primitives: articulated hand motion, object shape with 6D pose over time, and the when/where of contact. Such a capability would enable scalable mining of real interactions and, beyond reconstruction, support scene-aware synthesis and planning. However, reconstructing hand-object interaction (HOI) from challenging monocular videos remains difficult: methods often assume known objects or curated scenes, and separately estimated hands and objects easily become misaligned under clutter, occlusion, and unseen object geometries. Targeting this setting, we present CHOIR, a Contact-aware HOI Reconstruction framework for a monocular camera, using contact as an explicit coupling signal between hands and objects. CHOIR first initializes a coarse, contact-agnostic 4D HOI sequence from open-world visual priors. It then introduces a generative HOI spatial rectification module to predict ray-depth corrections and rectify hand-object relative placement, then derive initial per-frame contact correspondences on the rectified geometry. Last, a contact-aware joint optimization with dynamically updated contact constraints enforces geometric, temporal, and contact consistency. Experiments on controlled and challenging videos show that CHOIR improves object reconstruction, physical plausibility, and temporal consistency over state-of-the-art methods.

OmniShow: Unifying Multimodal Conditions for Human-Object Interaction Video Generation

In this work, we study Human-Object Interaction Video Generation (HOIVG), which aims to synthesize high-quality human-object interaction videos conditioned on text, reference images, audio, and pose. This task holds significant practical value for automating content creation in real-world applications, such as e-commerce demonstrations, short video production, and interactive entertainment. However, existing approaches fail to accommodate all these requisite conditions. We present OmniShow, an end-to-end framework tailored for this practical yet challenging task, capable of harmonizing multimodal conditions and delivering industry-grade performance. To overcome the trade-off between controllability and quality, we introduce Unified Channel-wise Conditioning for efficient image and pose injection, and Gated Local-Context Attention to ensure precise audio-visual synchronization. To effectively address data scarcity, we develop a Decoupled-Then-Joint Training strategy that leverages a multi-stage training process with model merging to efficiently harness heterogeneous sub-task datasets. Furthermore, to fill the evaluation gap in this field, we establish HOIVG-Bench, a dedicated and comprehensive benchmark for HOIVG. Extensive experiments demonstrate that OmniShow achieves overall state-of-the-art performance across various multimodal conditioning settings, setting a solid standard for the emerging HOIVG task.

PEGAsus: 3D Personalization of Geometry and Appearance

We present PEGAsus, a new framework capable of generating Personalized 3D shapes by learning shape concepts at both Geometry and Appearance levels. First, we formulate 3D shape personalization as extracting reusable, category-agnostic geometric and appearance attributes from reference shapes, and composing these attributes with text to generate novel shapes. Second, we design a progressive optimization strategy to learn shape concepts at both the geometry and appearance levels, decoupling the shape concept learning process. Third, we extend our approach to region-wise concept learning, enabling flexible concept extraction, with context-aware and context-free losses. Extensive experimental results show that PEGAsus is able to effectively extract attributes from a wide range of reference shapes and then flexibly compose these concepts with text to synthesize new shapes. This enables fine-grained control over shape generation and supports the creation of diverse, personalized results, even in challenging cross-category scenarios. Both quantitative and qualitative experiments demonstrate that our approach outperforms existing state-of-the-art solutions.

EgoHandICL: Egocentric 3D Hand Reconstruction with In-Context Learning

Robust 3D hand reconstruction in egocentric vision is challenging due to depth ambiguity, self-occlusion, and complex hand-object interactions. Prior methods mitigate these issues by scaling training data or adding auxiliary cues, but they often struggle in unseen contexts. We present EgoHandICL, the first in-context learning (ICL) framework for 3D hand reconstruction that improves semantic alignment, visual consistency, and robustness under challenging egocentric conditions. EgoHandICL introduces complementary exemplar retrieval guided by vision-language models (VLMs), an ICL-tailored tokenizer for multimodal context, and a masked autoencoder (MAE)-based architecture trained with hand-guided geometric and perceptual objectives. Experiments on ARCTIC and EgoExo4D show consistent gains over state-of-the-art methods. We also demonstrate real-world generalization and improve EgoVLM hand-object interaction reasoning by using reconstructed hands as visual prompts. IdentityStory: Taming Your Identity-Preserving Generator for Human-Centric Story Generation

Recent visual generative models enable story generation with consistent characters from text, but human-centric story generation faces additional challenges, such as maintaining detailed and diverse human face consistency and coordinating multiple characters across different images. This paper presents IdentityStory, a framework for human-centric story generation that ensures consistent character identity across multiple sequential images. By taming identity-preserving generators, the framework features two key components: Iterative Identity Discovery, which extracts cohesive character identities, and Re-denoising Identity Injection, which re-denoises images to inject identities while preserving desired context. Experiments on the ConsiStory-Human benchmark demonstrate that IdentityStory outperforms existing methods, particularly in face consistency, and supports multi-character combinations. The framework also shows strong potential for applications such as infinite-length story generation and dynamic character composition.

OpenView: Empowering MLLMs with Out-of-view VQA

Recent multimodal large language models (MLLMs) show great potential in natural image understanding. Yet, they perform well, mainly on reasoning in-view contents within the image frame. This paper presents the first study on out-of-view (OOV) understanding, i.e., the ability to reason objects, activities, and scenes beyond the visible frame of a perspective view. Our technical contributions are threefold. First, we design OpenView, a four-stage pipeline to massively generate multi-choice VQA by leveraging panoramic imagery to enable context-rich and spatial-grounded VQA synthesis with free-view framing. Second, we curate OpenView-Dataset, a high-quality synthetic dataset from diverse real-world panoramas to empower MLLMs upon supervised fine-tuning. Third, we build OpenView-Bench, a benchmark that jointly measures choice and rationale accuracy for interpretable and diagnosable evaluation. Experimental results show that despite having a large gap from human performance in OOV VQA answer selection, upon empowered by OpenView, multiple MLLMs can consistently boost their performance, uplifted from 48.6% to 64.1% on average. Code, benchmark, and data will be available at https://github.com/q1xiangchen/OpenView.

Rethinking Intermediate Representation for VLM-based Robot Manipulation

Vision-Language Model (VLM) is an important component to enable robust robot manipulation. Yet, using it to translate human instructions into an action-resolvable intermediate representation often needs a tradeoff between VLM-comprehensibility and generalizability. Inspired by context-free grammar, we design the Semantic Assembly representation named SEAM, by decomposing the intermediate representation into vocabulary and grammar. Doing so leads us to a concise vocabulary of semantically-rich operations and a VLM-friendly grammar for handling diverse unseen tasks. In addition, we design a new open-vocabulary segmentation paradigm with a retrieval-augmented few-shot learning strategy to localize fine-grained object parts for manipulation, effectively with the shortest inference time over all state-of-the-art parallel works. Also, we formulate new metrics for action-generalizability and VLM-comprehensibility, demonstrating the compelling performance of SEAM over mainstream representations on both aspects. Extensive real-world experiments further manifest its SOTA performance under varying settings and tasks.

COS3D: Collaborative Open-Vocabulary 3D Segmentation

Open-vocabulary 3D segmentation is a fundamental yet challenging task, requiring a mutual understanding of both segmentation and language. However, existing Gaussian-splatting-based methods rely either on a single 3D language field, leading to inferior segmentation, or on pre-computed class-agnostic segmentations, suffering from error accumulation. To address these limitations, we present COS3D, a new collaborative prompt-segmentation framework that contributes to effectively integrating complementary language and segmentation cues throughout its entire pipeline. We first introduce the new concept of collaborative field, comprising an instance field and a language field, as the cornerstone for collaboration. During training, to effectively construct the collaborative field, our key idea is to capture the intrinsic relationship between the instance field and language field, through a novel instance-to-language feature mapping and designing an efficient two-stage training strategy. During inference, to bridge distinct characteristics of the two fields, we further design an adaptive language-to-instance prompt refinement, promoting high-quality prompt-segmentation inference. Extensive experiments not only demonstrate COS3D's leading performance over existing methods on two widely-used benchmarks but also show its high potential to various applications,~\ie, novel image-based 3D segmentation, hierarchical segmentation, and robotics. The code is publicly available at \href{https://github.com/Runsong123/COS3D}{https://github.com/Runsong123/COS3D}.

DisCo-Layout: Disentangling and Coordinating Semantic and Physical Refinement in a Multi-Agent Framework for 3D Indoor Layout Synthesis

3D indoor layout synthesis is crucial for creating virtual environments. Traditional methods struggle with generalization due to fixed datasets. While recent LLM and VLM-based approaches offer improved semantic richness, they often lack robust and flexible refinement, resulting in suboptimal layouts. We develop DisCo-Layout, a novel framework that disentangles and coordinates physical and semantic refinement. For independent refinement, our Semantic Refinement Tool (SRT) corrects abstract object relationships, while the Physical Refinement Tool (PRT) resolves concrete spatial issues via a grid-matching algorithm. For collaborative refinement, a multi-agent framework intelligently orchestrates these tools, featuring a planner for placement rules, a designer for initial layouts, and an evaluator for assessment. Experiments demonstrate DisCo-Layout's state-of-the-art performance, generating realistic, coherent, and generalizable 3D indoor layouts. Our code will be publicly available.

Hierarchical Neural Semantic Representation for 3D Semantic Correspondence

This paper presents a new approach to estimate accurate and robust 3D semantic correspondence with the hierarchical neural semantic representation. Our work has three key contributions. First, we design the hierarchical neural semantic representation (HNSR), which consists of a global semantic feature to capture high-level structure and multi-resolution local geometric features to preserve fine details, by carefully harnessing 3D priors from pre-trained 3D generative models. Second, we design a progressive global-to-local matching strategy, which establishes coarse semantic correspondence using the global semantic feature, then iteratively refines it with local geometric features, yielding accurate and semantically-consistent mappings. Third, our framework is training-free and broadly compatible with various pre-trained 3D generative backbones, demonstrating strong generalization across diverse shape categories. Our method also supports various applications, such as shape co-segmentation, keypoint matching, and texture transfer, and generalizes well to structurally diverse shapes, with promising results even in cross-category scenarios. Both qualitative and quantitative evaluations show that our method outperforms previous state-of-the-art techniques.

Visualization-Driven Illumination for Density Plots

We present a novel visualization-driven illumination model for density plots, a new technique to enhance density plots by effectively revealing the detailed structures in high- and medium-density regions and outliers in low-density regions, while avoiding artifacts in the density field's colors. When visualizing large and dense discrete point samples, scatterplots and dot density maps often suffer from overplotting, and density plots are commonly employed to provide aggregated views while revealing underlying structures. Yet, in such density plots, existing illumination models may produce color distortion and hide details in low-density regions, making it challenging to look up density values, compare them, and find outliers. The key novelty in this work includes (i) a visualization-driven illumination model that inherently supports density-plot-specific analysis tasks and (ii) a new image composition technique to reduce the interference between the image shading and the color-encoded density values. To demonstrate the effectiveness of our technique, we conducted a quantitative study, an empirical evaluation of our technique in a controlled study, and two case studies, exploring twelve datasets with up to two million data point samples.
