Trace functions of the Parafermion vertex operator algebras

The trace functions for the Parafermion vertex operator algebra associated to any finite dimensional simple Lie algebra $\g$ and any positive integer $k$ are studied and an explicit modular transformation formula of the trace functions is obtained.

Hopf actions on vertex operator algebras

The Hopf actions on vertex operator algebras are investigated. If the action is semisimple, a Schur-Weyl type decomposition is obtained. When the Hopf algebra is finite dimensional and the action is faithful, the action is a group action. Moreover if the Hopf algebra is finite dimensional and the action is semisimple and inner faithful, the action is also a group action. In this case, inner faithfulness is equivalent to faithfulness.

Congruence Property in Orbifold Theory

Let $V$ be a rational, selfdual, $C_2$-cofinite vertex operator algebra of CFT type, and $G$ a finite automorphism group of $V.$ It is proved that the kernel of the representation of the modular group on twisted conformal blocks associated to $V$ and $G$ is a congruence subgroup. In particular, the $q$-character of each irreducible twisted module is a modular function on the same congruence subgroup. In the case $V$ is the Frenkel-Lepowsky-Meurman's moonshine vertex operator algebra and $G$ is the monster simple group, the generalized McKay-Thompson series associated to any commuting pair in the monster group is a modular function.

Congruence Property In Conformal Field Theory

The congruence subgroup property is established for the modular representations associated to any modular tensor category. This result is used to prove that the kernel of the representation of the modular group on the conformal blocks of any rational, C_2-cofinite vertex operator algebra is a congruence subgroup. In particular, the q-character of each irreducible module is a modular function on the same congruence subgroup. The Galois symmetry of the modular representations is obtained and the order of the anomaly for those modular categories satisfying some integrality conditions is determined.

On Orbifold Theory

Let V be a simple vertex operator algebra and G a finite automorphism group of V such that V^G is regular. It is proved that every irreducible V^G-module occurs in an irreducible g-twisted V-module for some g in G. Moreover, the quantum dimensions of each irreducible V^G-module are determined and a global dimension formula for V in terms of twisted modules is obtained.

Lattice-integrality of certain group-invariant integral forms in vertex operator algebras

Certain vertex operator algebras have integral forms (integral spans of bases which are closed under the countable set of products). It is unclear when they (or integral multiples of them) are integral as lattices under the natural bilinear form on the VOA. We show that lattice-integrality may be arranged under some hypotheses, including cases of integral forms invariant by finite groups. In particular, there exists a lattice-integral Monster-invariant integral form in the Moonshine VOA.

Unitary vertex operator algebras

Unitary vertex operator algebras are introduced and studied. It is proved that most well-known rational vertex operator algebras are unitary. The classification of unitary vertex operator algebras with central charge c less than or equal to 1 is also discussed.

Vertex operator algebras associated to the Virasoro algebra over an arbitrary field

The vertex operator algebras and modules associated to the highest weight modules for the Virasoro algebra over an arbitrary field F whose characteristic is not equal to 2 are studied. The irreducible modules of vertex operator algebra L(1/2,0)_F are classified. The rationality of L(1/2,0)_F is established if the characteristic of F is different from 7.

Representations of vertex operator algebras and bimodules

For a vertex operator algebra V, a V-module M and a nonnegative integer n, an A_n(V)-bimodule A_n(M) is constructed and studied. The connection between A_n(M) and intertwining operators are discussed. In the case that V is rational, A_n(M) for irreducible V-module M is given explicitly.
