The two-loop sunrise graph with arbitrary masses

We discuss the analytical solution of the two-loop sunrise graph with arbitrary non-zero masses in two space-time dimensions. The analytical result is obtained by solving a second-order differential equation. The solution involves elliptic integrals and in particular the solutions of the corresponding homogeneous differential equation are given by periods of an elliptic curve.

Multiple polylogarithms and linearly reducible Feynman graphs

We review an approach for the computation of Feynman integrals by use of multiple polylogarithms, with an emphasis on the related criterion of linear reducibility of the graph. We show that the set of graphs which satisfies the linear reducibility with respect to both Symanzik polynomials is closed under taking minors. As a step towards a classification of Feynman integrals, we discuss the concept of critical minors and exhibit an example at three loops with four on-shell legs.

The real radiation antenna function for $S \to Q {\bar Q} q {\bar q}$ at NNLO QCD

As a first step towards the application of the antenna subtraction formalism to NNLO QCD reactions with massive quarks, we determine the real radiation antenna function and its integrated counterpart for reactions of the type $S \to Q{\bar Q} q {\bar q}$, where $S$ denotes an uncolored initial state and $Q$, $q$ a massive and massless quark, respectively. We compute the corresponding integrated antenna function in terms of harmonic polylogarithms. As an application and check of our results we calculate the contribution proportional to $α_s^2 e^2_Q N_f$ to the inclusive heavy-quark pair production cross ection in $e^+e^-$ annihilation.

Properties of Feynman graph polynomials

In this talk I discuss properties of the two Symanzik polynomials which characterise the integrand of an arbitrary multi-loop integral in its Feynman parametric form. Based on the construction from spanning forests and Laplacian matrices, Dodgson's relation is applied to derive factorisation identities involving both polynomials. An application of Whitney's 2-isomorphism theorem on matroids is discussed.

Feynman graph polynomials

The integrand of any multi-loop integral is characterised after Feynman parametrisation by two polynomials. In this review we summarise the properties of these polynomials. Topics covered in this article include among others: Spanning trees and spanning forests, the all-minors matrix-tree theorem, recursion relations due to contraction and deletion of edges, Dodgson's identity and matroids.

Feynman graphs in perturbative quantum field theory

In this talk we discuss mathematical structures associated to Feynman graphs. Feynman graphs are the backbone of calculations in perturbative quantum field theory. The mathematical structures -- apart from being of interest in their own right -- allow to derive algorithms for the computation of these graphs. Topics covered are the relations of Feynman integrals to periods, shuffle algebras and multiple polylogarithms.

Periods and Feynman integrals

We consider multi-loop integrals in dimensional regularisation and the corresponding Laurent series. We study the integral in the Euclidean region and where all ratios of invariants and masses have rational values. We prove that in this case all coefficients of the Laurent series are periods.

Blowing up Feynman integrals

In this talk we discuss sector decomposition. This is a method to disentangle overlapping singularities through a sequence of blow-ups. We report on an open-source implementation of this algorithm to compute numerically the Laurent expansion of divergent multi-loop integrals. We also show how this method can be used to prove a theorem which relates the coefficients of the Laurent series of dimensionally regulated multi-loop integrals to periods.

Resolution of singularities for multi-loop integrals

We report on a program for the numerical evaluation of divergent multi-loop integrals. The program is based on iterated sector decomposition. We improve the original algorithm of Binoth and Heinrich such that the program is guaranteed to terminate. The program can be used to compute numerically the Laurent expansion of divergent multi-loop integrals regulated by dimensional regularisation. The symbolic and the numerical steps of the algorithm are combined into one program.
