Review of physics results from the Tevatron: QCD physics

We present a summary of results from studies of quantum chromodynamics at the Fermilab Tevatron collider by the CDF and the D0 experiments. These include Run II results for the time period up to the end of Summer 2014. A brief description of Run I resultsis also given. This review covers a wide spectrum of topics, and includes measurements with jet and vector boson final states in the hard (perturbative) energy regime, as well as studies of soft physics such as diffractive and elastic scatterings, underlying and minimum bias events, hadron fragmentation, and multiple parton interactions.

Review of Physics Results from the Tevatron

We present a comprehensive review of the physics results obtained by the CDF and D0 collaborations up to summer 2014, with emphasis on those achieved in the Run II of the Tevatron collider which delivered a total integrated luminosity of ~10 fb-1 at sqrt{s}=1.96 TeV. The results are presented in six main physics topics: QCD, Heavy Flavor, Electroweak, Top quark, Higgs boson and searches for New Particles and Interactions. The characteristics of the accelerator, detectors, and the techniques used to achieve these results are also briefly summarized.

CMS Results on Hard Diffraction

In these proceedings we present CMS results on hard diffraction. Diffractive dijet production in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=7 TeV is discussed. The cross section for dijet production is presented as a function of $\tildeξ$, representing the fractional momentum loss of the scattered proton in single-diffractive events. The observation of W and Z boson production in events with a large pseudo-rapidity gap is also presented.

Soft QCD Results from CDF

We review the latest underlying event and minimum bias results and discuss the associated problematics with the idea of establishing a solid baseline for the LHC experiments. These measurements include study of the underlying event in Drell-Yan and dijet events, and inclusive differential (in $p_T$) cross sections of centrally ($\midη\mid <$1) produced lambdas, cascades and omegas. We also present recent results on diffraction obtained by the CDF collaboration. Single-diffractive W and Z production is discussed. The first experimental observation of exclusive dijets, exclusive $χ_{c0}$ mesons, and a search for exclusive diphotons are discussed. We also present results from a study of central rapidity gap production in soft and hard diffractive events.

Latest Jets Results from the Tevatron

A comprehensive overview of the latest aspects of jet physics in proton-antiproton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$1.96 TeV is presented. In particular, measurements of the inclusive jet production, dijet and multi-jet production, and jet substructure studies are discussed.

New Diffraction Results from CDF

We report measurements of hard diffractive processes performed by the CDF collaboration in proton-antiproton collisions at the Fermilab Tevatron collider at $\sqrt{s}$=1960 GeV. The characteristics of the diffractive structure function from diffractive dijet production studies are presented. The results of exclusive dijet production in double pomeron exchange are discussed in the context of exclusive Higgs production at the LHC.

Jet Production at CDF

In this talk we present the results from the measurement of the inclusive jet cross section and strong coupling constant based on the CDF Run 1B data, and discuss prospects for Run 2.
