Gravitational emissions and light curves of quasi-periodic orbits in Schwarzschild spacetime embedded in a Dehnen-type dark matter halo

Timelike orbits in curved spacetimes encode intrinsic information about the background geometry and serve as critical probes for investigating gravitational theories and source distributions. In this study, we investigate strictly closed timelike orbits within a Schwarzschild spacetime embedded in a Dehnen-type dark matter halo. By solving the geodesic equations, we identify various configurations of these closed orbits and simulate their corresponding gravitational waves and electromagnetic light curves. Our findings reveal that the morphology of closed orbits is primarily governed by the ratio of the azimuthal period to the radial period. Notably, dark matter halo parameters such as the core scale and density parameters exert a significant amplification effect on the orbital scale, which further induces a discernible phase lag in the gravitational wave signals. Furthermore, within a specific parameter space, we discover a linear relationship between the number of peaks in the light curves and the number of orbital leaves. From a theoretical perspective, these findings reveal the multimessenger signatures of closed orbits, which may provide a potential theoretical foundation for establishing a connection between orbital dynamics and the surrounding dark matter environment.

Gravitational lensing of massive particles by a black-bounce-Schwarzschild black hole

We investigate in detail the weak-field gravitational lensing of a relativistic neutral massive particle induced by a regular black-bounce-Schwarzschild black hole proposed by Simpson and Visser. Starting with the calculation of the gravitational deflection of the massive particle up to the third post-Minkowskian order, the Virbhadra-Ellis lens equation is solved perturbatively beyond the weak-deflection limit to achieve the expressions for the lensing observables of the primary and secondary images of a point-like particle source. The main observables contain not only the positions, the flux magnifications, and the gravitational time delays of the individual images, but also the positional relations, the magnification relations (including the total magnification), the magnification centroid, and the differential time delay. We then discuss the velocity-induced effects originated from the deviation of the particle's initial velocity from the speed of light on the black-bounce-Schwarzschild lensing observables of the images of a point-like light source, and the effects induced by the bounce parameter of the spacetime on the measurable image properties of Schwarzschild lensing of the massive particle. As an application of the results, we model the supermassive black hole in the Galactic Center (i.e., Sgr A$^{\ast}$) as the lens, and focus on evaluating the possibilities to detect the new velocity-induced and bounce-induced effects on the practical lensing observables and analyzing the dependence of these effects on the parameters.

Frequency shift of light in Kerr spacetime

The frequency shift of light in the gravitational field generated by a rotating body is investigated. We consider the scenario in which both the light source and the observer are in motion. The frequency shift is calculated up to the second-order post-Minkowskian approximation via two different methods and the same result is achieved. The higher-order effects of the gravitational source's rotation on the frequency shift is obtained. Especially, when both the light source and the observer are located in the asymptotically flat region, an elegant formula is obtained, which can be easily used in the astronomical observations to determine the rotating gravitational source's mass and angular momentum.

The second post-Newtonian motion in Reissner-Nordström spacetime

We derived the second post-Newtonian solution for the quasi-Keplerian motion of a charged test particle in the Reissner-Nordström spacetime under the harmonic coordinates. The solution is formulated in terms of the test particle's orbital energy and angular momentum, both of which are constants at the second post-Newtonian order. The charge effects on the test particle's motion including the orbital period and perihelion precession are displayed explicitly. Our results can be applied to the cases in which the test particle has small charge-to-mass ratio, or the test particle has arbitrary charge-to-mass ratio but the multiplication of the test particle and the gravitational source's charge-to-mass-ratios is much smaller than 1.

Second Post-Minkowskian Metric for a Moving Kerr Black Hole

The harmonic metric for a moving Kerr black hole is presented in the second post-Minkowskian approximation. It is further demonstrated that the obtained metric is consistent with the Liénard-Wiechert gravitational potential for a moving and spinning source with an arbitrary constant velocity. Based on the metric, we also give the post-Newtonian equations of motion for photon and massive test particle in the time-dependent gravitational field.

Post-Minkowskian solution for the small-deflection motion of test particles in Kerr-Newman spacetime

We derive the second-order post-Minkowskian solution for the small-deflection motion of test particles in the external field of the Kerr-Newman black hole via an iterative method. The analytical results are exhibited in the coordinate system constituted by the particles' initial velocity unit vector, impact vector, and their cross-product. The achieved formulas explicitly give the dependences of the particles' trajectory and velocity on the time once their initial position and velocity are specified, and can be applied not only to a massive particle, but also to a photon as well.

The weak-field-limit solution for Kerr black hole in radiation gauge

In this work we present the solution for a rotating Kerr black hole in the weak-field limit under the radiation gauge proposed by Chen and Zhu [Phys. Rev. D83, 061501(R) (2011)], with which the two physical components of the gravitational wave can be picked out exactly.

Post-Newtonian light propagation in Kerr-Newman spacetime

The second-order post-Newtonian solution for the light propagation in the field of Kerr-Newman black hole is achieved via an iterative method. Based on this result, we further obtain the second-order post-Newtonian light deflection in Kerr-Newman spacetime, which is formulated in an united form for any arbitrarily incident directions. All results are exhibited in the coordinate system constituted by the initial light-direction vector, the impact vector, and their cross-product.

Post-Newtonian dynamics basing on Mathisson-Papapetrou equations with Corinaldesi-Papapetrou condition in Kerr spacetime

We derive the post-Newtonian dynamics for a spinning body with Corinaldesi-Papapetrou spin supplementary condition in Kerr spacetime. Both the equations of motion for the center-of-mass of body and the spin evolution are obtained. For the non-relativistic case, our calculations show that the magnitude of spin measured in the rest frame of the body's center-of-mass does not change with time, though the center-of-mass does not move along the geodesic. Moreover, we find that the effects of the spin-orbit and spin-spin couplings will be suppressed by the Lorentz factor when the body has a relativistic velocity.
