Expansions in the Golden ratio base have been studied since a pioneering paper of Rényi more than sixty years ago. We introduce closely related expansions of a new type, based on the Fibonacci sequence, and we show that in some sense they behave better.
Cantor's ternary function is generalized to arbitrary base-change functions in non-integer bases. Some of them share the curious properties of Cantor's function, while others behave quite differently.
We generalize several theorems of Rényi, Parry, Daróczy and Kátai by characterizing the greedy and quasi-greedy expansions in non-integer bases.
