Gravitational cat states as a resource for quantum information processing

We investigate how resourceful gravitational cat states are to preserve quantum correlations. In this regard, we explore the dynamics of gravitational cat states under different situations such as thermal, classical stochastic, general decaying, and power-law noisy fields. In particular, the one-way steerability, Bell non-locality, entanglement, and purity in two qubits are our main focus. We also address the weak measurement protocol on the dynamics of quantum correlations and purity of the state. Our results show that the gravitational cat states have a reliable and better capacity to preserve quantum correlations and remain one of the good resources for the deployment of quantum information processing protocols. Additionally, two independent channels are also employed and it is observed that only the weaker coupling regimes are effective in preserving quantum correlations. Notably, in terms of non-Markovian dynamics implication, quantum correlations are found to be longer preserved because of the information feedback phenomenon between the system and environment. Finally, we present a brief analysis to extend our gravitational model to include the electrostatic notion, providing insight into the key differences between the considered configurations.

Doubly heavy hadron production in ultraperipheral collisions

The inclusive production of pseudoscalar heavy quarkonia ($η_c,\, η_b,\, B_c$), double heavy baryons $Ξ_{QQ^\prime}$ ($Q^{(\prime)}=c,\,b$ quarks) and tetraquarks $T_{QQ}$ in heavy ion ultraperipheral collisions (UPCs) is studied. Numerical results indicate that the experimental investigation of $η_c,\, Ξ_{cc}$, and $T_{cc}$ is feasible at the upcoming HL-LHC and future FCC. Heavy ion UPCs open another avenue for studying the production of these doubly heavy hadrons.

A Universal Quantum Certainty Relation for Arbitrary Number of Observables

We derive by lattice theory a universal quantum certainty relation for arbitrary $M$ observables in $N$-dimensional system, which provides a state-independent maximum lower bound on the direct-sum of the probability vectors in terms of majorization relation. While the utmost lower bound coincides with $(1/N,...,1/N)$ for any two observables with orthogonal bases, the majorization certainty relation for $M\geqslant3$ is shown to be nontrivial. The universal majorization bounds for three mutually complementary observables and a more general set of observables in dimension-2 are achieved. It is found that one cannot prepare a quantum state with probability vectors of incompatible observables spreading out arbitrarily. Moreover, we also explore the connections between quantum uncertainty and quantum coherence, and obtain a complementary relation for the quantum coherence as well, which characterizes a trade-off relation of quantum coherence with different bases and is illustrated by an explicit example.

NLO Corrections to Dimuonium Production in Photon-Photon Collision

Dimuonium ($μ^+ μ^-$) is one of the pure QED bound systems of leptons, together with positronium and ditauonium. The former had been observed in experiment in 1951, while the search for dimuonium and ditauonium ($τ^+ τ^-$) are still in vain. The ditauonium is thought to be hard to measure due to its short life time, whereas the dimuonium is very likely to be observed in current running experiments. We calculate in this work the para and ortho dimuonium production in photon-photon collision at the next-to-leading order (NLO) in QED. To handle the Coulomb divergence within the bound system, the non-relativistic QED description is adopted for consistency. The results indicate that the NLO corrections are negative for both para and ortho states, at the normal order of perturbative QED corrections. The measurement of the dimuonium in Belle II experiment, especially at the forthcoming facility of STCF, is tenable.

Strengthening the Uncertainty and the Reverse Uncertainty Relation Limits

Uncertainty relations are pivotal in delineating the limits of simultaneous measurements for observables. In this paper, we derive four novel uncertainty and reverse uncertainty relations for the sum of variances of two incompatible observables, leveraging the mathematical framework of the Maligranda inequality. These relations are shown to provide tighter bounds than several well-known existing relations. Furthermore, we extend these results to multi-observable scenarios by employing an inequality from M. Kato et al., deriving generalized uncertainty relations that similarly exhibit enhanced precision. The incorporation of the phase angle of the measurement state contributes to strengthening the derived inequalities. Comparative analyses with prior studies confirm the effectiveness of our inequalities in two-observable systems via three illustrative examples.

$J/ψ$ Polarization and $p_T$ distribution in $c\ \!\bar{c}$ associated hadroproduction at $\mathcal{O}(α_s^5)$

The quarkonium production in association with a heavy-quark pair of the same flavor was found plays an important role in various production schemes, let alone it provides a distinctive signature that could be studied in experiment. Within the NRQCD framework, we perform the first complete calculation of the hadroproduction process $gg\to J/ψ+c\bar{c}$ at the next-to-leading order (NLO) in the expansion of strong coupling constant $α_s$. The result tells that the NLO corrections substantially enhance the color-singlet yield and alter the predicted polarization patterns, and hence lead to a better agreement with experimental data across the $p_T$ spectrum. In contrast to charm-quark fragmentation, the $J/ψ$ and $c\bar{c}$ associated production channel displays a markedly different kinematic behavior, underscoring its distinct role in the production mechanism. While the inclusion of this process greatly reduces the discrepancy between color-singlet theoretical prediction and experimental measurement, a residual gap of approximately one order of magnitude still remains.

Detecting Entanglement in High-Spin Quantum Systems via a Stacking Ensemble of Machine Learning Models

Reliable detection and quantification of quantum entanglement, particularly in high-spin or many-body systems, present significant computational challenges for traditional methods. This study examines the effectiveness of ensemble machine learning models as a reliable and scalable approach for estimating entanglement, measured by negativity, in quantum systems. We construct an ensemble regressor integrating Neural Networks (NNs), XGBoost (XGB), and Extra Trees (ET), trained on datasets of pure states and mixed Werner states for various spin dimensions. The ensemble model with stacking meta-learner demonstrates robust performance by CatBoost (CB), accurately predicting negativity across different dimensionalities and state types. Crucially, visual analysis of prediction scatter plots reveals that the ensemble model exhibits superior predictive consistency and lower deviation from true entanglement values compared to individual strong learners like NNs, even when aggregate metrics are comparable. This enhanced reliability, attributed to error cancellation and variance reduction inherent in ensembling, underscores the potential of this approach to bypass computational bottlenecks and provide a trustworthy tool for characterizing entanglement in high-dimensional quantum physics. An empirical formula for estimating data requirements based on system dimensionality and desired accuracy is also derived.

Probabilistic Coherence Transformation Under Strictly Incoherent Operation

The coherence transformation is pivotal for quantum technologies, which cannot always be accomplished deterministically. We investigate the probabilistic coherence transformation under strictly incoherent operations. To this end, by virtue of majorization lattice, the greedy and thrifty protocols are adapted for the probabilistic coherence transformation, of which the latter exhibits certain superiority in preserving coherence on average. Intuitively, it is found that the large coherence gain can be realized with the price of success probability loss for coherence transformation, and vice versa. Deterministic and probabilistic coherence transformations between two mixed states are explored. As an application, it is shown that the conversion from coherence into entanglement may benefit from probabilistic coherence transformation.

An Effective Way to Determine the Separability of Quantum State

We propose in this work a practical approach to address the longstanding and challenging problem of quantum separability, leveraging the correlation matrices of generic observables. General separability conditions are obtained by dint of constructing the measurement-induced Bloch space, which in essence come from the intrinsic constraints in the space of quantum state. The novel approach can not only reproduce various established entanglement criteria, it may as well brings about some new results, possessing obvious advantages for certain bound entangled states and the high dimensional Werner states. Moreover, it is found that criteria obtained in our approach can be directly transformed into entanglement witness operators.

A novel configuration of gluonic tetraquark state

Inspired by the experimental measurement of the charmed hadronic state X(6900), we calculate the mass spectra of tetraquark hybrid states with configuration of \([8_{c}]_{Q\bar{Q}} \otimes [8_{c}]_{G} \otimes [8_{c}]_{Q\bar{Q}}\) in color, by virtue of QCD sum rules. The two feasible types of currents with quantum numbers $J^{PC} = 0^{++}$ and $0^{-+}$ are investigated, in which the contributions from operators up to dimension six are taken into account in operator product expansion (OPE). In the end, we find that, in charm sector, the tetracharm hybrid states with quantum number \(0^{++}\) has a mass of about \(6.98^{+0.16}_{-0.14} \, \text{GeV}\), while \(0^{-+}\) state mass is about \(7.26^{+0.16}_{-0.15} \, \text{GeV}\). The results overlap with the experimental observations, suggesting potential tetracharm hybrid interpretations. In bottom sector, calculation shows that the masses of tetrabottom hybrid states with quantum numbers $0^{++}$ and $0^{-+}$ are \(19.30^{+0.16}_{-0.17} \, \text{GeV}\) and \(19.50^{+0.17}_{-0.17} \, \text{GeV}\), respectively, which are left for future experimental confirmation.

Intermediate-mass-ratio inspirals with general dynamical friction in dark matter minispikes

The intermediate-mass-ratio inspirals (IMRIs) may be surrounded by dark matter (DM) minispikes. The dynamical friction from these DM minispike structures can affect the dynamics and the gravitational wave (GW) emission of the IMRIs. We analyze the effects of general dynamical friction, with a particular contribution from DM particles moving faster than the stellar-mass black hole in an eccentric IMRI. Our calculation show that these DM particles tends to eccentricify the orbit, therefore the evolution of the eccentricity depends on the competition between the fast moving DM particles and the slow moving DM particles. The results show that the dynamical friction enhances the eccentricity when $γ_\mathrm{sp}\lesssim2.0$, and the general dynamical friction is able to increase the eccentricity. We also analyze the effects of general dynamical friction on the GW characteristic strain. The results indicate that the characteristic strain is suppressed at lower frequencies, and the peak value of the characteristic strain occurs at higher frequencies as the power law index of DM minispike $γ_\mathrm{sp}$ increases. For the first time, a relation between the frequency peak value of characteristic strain of GWs and $γ_\mathrm{sp}$ is established. Using this analytical relation, the presence of DM and its halo density may be determined potentially from future GW data.

Higgs boson decays to a fermion pair and a polarized $Z$ boson at NLO accuracy

In this paper, we investigate the Higgs boson decay process $H\to f\bar{f}Z\to f\bar{f}μ^-μ^+$, where $f$ denotes any light fermions, at the next-to-leading order (NLO) accuracy. The calculation is performed within the framework of single-pole approximation, in which the contributions of different polarization states of the $Z$ boson are considered separately. Numerical results show that, by taking appropriate cut, the non-resonant background is negligible, and the NLO corrections are $1\%$--$4\%$ of the LO contributions. We also find that the inclusion of NLO corrections can greatly reduce the dependence on the electroweak coupling scheme, and enhance the prediction reliability. We formulate a method for the extraction of the pseudo-observable $Γ^{H\to ffZ}$ from the $f\bar{f}μ^-μ^+$ signal.

$B_c$, $B_s$ and $D_s$ production at lepton-hadron colliders

Within the framework of nonrelativistic quantum chromodynamics, this study examines the electroproduction processes $e+p\to e+B_c+\overline{c}+b$, $e+p\to e+B_s+\overline{s}+b$, and $e+p\to e+D_s+\overline{c}+s$ at lepton-hadron colliders. The differential cross sections in $\cosθ$ and $p_T^2$ at HERA are presented. The results indicate that the production of $B_c$ is feasible at the EIC, whereas it is not at HERA. The cross sections for $B_s$ and $D_s$ are notably significant at HERA, yet they exhibit sensitivity to variations in quark mass and renormalization scale.

Rare $ Λ_c $ decays and new physics effects

Recent experimental progress on baryonic rare decays has spurred a deeper investigation on flavor-changing neutral current transitions in the baryon sector. Within the framework of QCD sum rules, we derive a complete set of form factors for the $ Λ_c\to p $ process in the large recoil region and use the $z$-series parametrization to extrapolate them across the full physical range. Employing these form factors and flavor symmetries, we compute branching fractions for the decays $Λ_c \to p e^+ e^-$ and $Λ_c \to p μ^+ μ^-$, as well as for rare $ Ξ_c $ decay modes. We examine as well the new physics effects through specific angular observables such as the lepton forward-backward asymmetry and the fraction of longitudinally polarized dileptons. Results indicate that new physics models may be testified in baryonic rare decays, with immense data collected in running and future colliders.

Quantum Uncertainty Equalities and Inequalities for Unitary Operators

We explore the uncertainty relation for unitary operators in a new way and find two uncertainty equalities for unitary operators, which are minimized by any pure states. Additionally, we derive two sets of uncertainty inequalities that unveil hierarchical structures within the realm of unitary operator uncertainty. Furthermore, we examine and compare our method for unitary uncertainty relations to other prevailing formulations. We provide explicit examples for better understanding and clarity. Results show that the hierarchical unitary uncertainty relations establish strong bounds. Moreover, we investigate the higher-dimensional limit of the unitary uncertainty equalities.

Entanglement Criteria Based on Quantum Fisher Information

To optimize the entanglement detection, we formulate the metrologically operational entanglement condition in quantum Fisher information by maximizing the QFI on the measurement orbit. Specifically, we consider two classes of typical local observables, i.e. the local orthonormal observables and symmetric informationally complete positive operator-valued measures. Result shows that the symmetric informationally complete positive operator-valued measures are superior to local orthonormal observables in entanglement detection, which in some sense hints the yet unconfirmed generally superiority of symmetric informationally complete positive operator-valued measures in quantum information processing.

Pseudoscalar heavy quarkonium production in heavy ion ultraperipheral collision

The inclusive production of pseudoscalar heavy quarkoniua ($η_c,~η_b$ and $B_c$) via photon-photon fusion in heavy ion ultraperipheral collision (UPC) are calculated to QCD next-to-leading order in the framework of non-relativistic QCD (NRQCD). The total cross section of $η_c$ produced in Pb-Pb UPC is 194 $\mathrm{nb}$ and 1275 $\mathrm{nb}$ at nucleon-nucleon c.m. energies $\sqrt{S_{\mathrm{NN}}}=$ 5.52 TeV and 39.4 TeV, respectively. The cross sections for $η_b$ and $B_c$ mesons are more than two to three orders of magnitude smaller. We make a detailed phenomenological analysis on the $η_c$ production; the uncertainties caused by the renormalization scale and the charm quark mass, the cross sections in other ultraperipheral nucleon-nucleon colliding systems, and the transverse momentum distribution are discussed. At the coming HL-LHC and future FCC, the heavy ion UPC opens another door of the study on the production of heavy quarkonium.

Sky location of Massive Black Hole Binaries in the foreground of Galactic white dwarf binaries

For space-based gravitational wave (GW) detection, the main noise source for massive black hole binaries (MBHBs) is attributed to approximately $10^7$ double white dwarf binaries in the foreground. For a GW source, the amplitude of the detector response, recorded by a space-based gravitational wave detector, exhibits a modulation effect with a year period when observing the source from various orbital positions. Under the adverse conditions mentioned above, where there is a strong foreground noise and annual modulation in the signals, we employed the wavelet transform and the strong-amplitude relevant orbital position search methods, which allows the weak MBHB sources to achieve higher locating accuracy. In detail, for two MBHB sources of lower intensity, the precision of luminosity distance, represented by the ratio $ΔD_L / D_L$ at the 95$\%$ confidence level, is enhanced by factors of $\sim$ 2. And the angular resolutions, denoted by $ΔΩ_s$, are enhanced by a factor of $\sim$ 20. These improvements increase the number of detectable GW sources, facilitates multi-messenger follow-up observations and provides constraints on the cosmological constant.
