On linear systems of moment differential equations with singularities of the first kind

The solution to systems of moment differential equations of the form $z\partial_my=(zA+B)y$ are provided, for a matrix $B$ with general good spectrum. Existence and convergence of Floquet-type solutions is studied. A generalized definition of $z^B$ is given, as a tool to solve the main problem whenever $A\equiv 0$. The theory is illustrated with examples which are important in applications.

Elliptic operators in rough sets, and the Dirichlet problem with boundary data in Hölder spaces

In this paper we study the Dirichlet problem for real-valued second order divergence form elliptic operators with boundary data in Hölder spaces. Our context is that of open sets $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^{n+1}$, $n \ge 2$, satisfying the capacity density condition, without any further topological assumptions. Our main result states that if $Ω$ is either bounded, or unbounded with unbounded boundary, then the corresponding Dirichlet boundary value problem is well-posed; when $Ω$ is unbounded with bounded boundary, we establish that solutions exist, but they fail to be unique in general. These results are optimal in the sense that solvability of the Dirichlet problem in Hölder spaces is shown to imply the capacity density condition. As a consequence of the main result, we present a characterization of the Hölder spaces in terms of the boundary traces of solutions, and obtain well-posedness of several related Dirichlet boundary value problems. All the results above are new even for 1-sided chord-arc domains, and can be extended to generalized Hölder spaces associated with a natural class of growth functions.

Solutions of linear systems of moment differential equations via generalized matrix exponentials

A generalized exponential matrix based on the construction of kernel operators for generalized summability is defined and analyzing its main properties, generalizing the classical exponential matrix and fractional exponential matrix. This object serves as a practical tool to express the solutions of linear systems of moment differential equations in a compact manner, in the spirit of the classical exponential matrix.

The regularity problem for degenerate elliptic operators in weighted spaces

We study the solvability of the regularity problem for degenerate elliptic operators in the block case for data in weighted spaces. More precisely, let $L_w$ be a degenerate elliptic operator with degeneracy given by a fixed weight $w\in A_2(dx)$ in $\mathbb{R}^n$, and consider the associated block second order degenerate elliptic problem in the upper-half space $\mathbb{R}_+^{n+1}$. We obtain non-tangential bounds for the full gradient of the solution of the block case operator given by the Poisson semigroup in terms of the gradient of the boundary data. All this is done in the spaces $L^p(vdw)$ where $v$ is a Muckenhoupt weight with respect to the underlying natural weighted space $(\mathbb{R}^n, wdx)$. We recover earlier results in the non-degenerate case (when $w\equiv 1$, and with or without weight $v$). Our strategy is also different and more direct thanks in particular to recent observations on change of angles in weighted square function estimates and non-tangential maximal functions. Our method gives as a consequence the (unweighted) $L^2(dx)$-solvability of the regularity problem for the block operator \[ \mathbb{L}_αu(x,t) = -|x|^α \mathrm{div}_x \big(|x|^{-α}\,A(x) \nabla_x u(x,t)\big)-\partial_{t}^2 u(x,t) \] for any complex-valued uniformly elliptic matrix $A$ and for all $-ε<α<\frac{2\,n}{n+2}$, where $ε$ depends just on the dimension and the ellipticity constants of $A$.

The regularity problem for uniformly elliptic operators in weighted spaces

This paper studies the regularity problem for block uniformly elliptic operators in divergence form with complex bounded measurable coefficients. We consider the case where the boundary data belongs to Lebesgue spaces with weights in the Muckenhoupt classes. Our results generalize those of S. Mayboroda (and those of P. Auscher and S. Stahlhut employing the first order method) who considered the unweighted case. To obtain our main results we use the weighted Hardy space theory associated with elliptic operators recently developed by the last two named authors. One of the novel contributions of this paper is the use of an "inhomogeneous" vertical square function which is shown to be controlled by the gradient of the function to which is applied in weighted Lebesgue spaces.

Vertical square functions and other operators associated with an elliptic operator

We study the vertical and conical square functions defined via elliptic operators in divergence form. In general, vertical and conical square functions are equivalent operators just in $L^2$. But when this square functions are defined through the heat or Poisson semigroup that arise from an elliptic operator, we are able to find open intervals containing $2$ where the equivalence holds. The intervals in question depend ultimately on the range where the semigroup is uniformly bounded or has off-diagonal estimates. As a consequence we obtain new boundedness results for some square functions. Besides, we consider a non-tangential maximal function associated with the Poisson semigroup and extend the known range where that operator is bounded. Our methods are based on the use of extrapolation for Muckenhoupt weights and change of angle estimates. All our results are obtained in the general setting of a degenerate elliptic operator, where the degeneracy is given by an $A_2$ weight, in weighted Lebesgue spaces. Of course they are valid in the unweighted and/or non-degenerate situations, which can be seen as special cases, and provide new results even in those particular settings. We also consider the square root of a degenerate elliptic operator in divergence form $L_w$ and improve the lower bound of the interval where this operator is known to be bounded on $L^p(vdw)$. To finish we give unweighted boundedness results for the degenerate operators under consideration.

Weighted Hardy spaces associated with elliptic operators. Part III: Characterizations of $H_L^{p}(w)$ and the weighted Hardy space associated with the Riesz transform

We consider Muckenhoupt weights $w$, and define weighted Hardy spaces $H^p_{\mathcal{T}}(w)$, where $\mathcal{T}$ denotes a conical square function or a non-tangential maximal function defined via the heat or the Poisson semigroup generated by a second order divergence form elliptic operator $L$. In the range $0<p< 1$, we give a molecular characterization of these spaces. Additionally, in the range $p\in \mathcal{W}_w(p_-(L),p_+(L))$ we see that these spaces are isomorphic to the $L^p(w)$ spaces. We also consider the Riesz transform $\nabla L^{-\frac{1}{2}}$, associated with $L$, and show that the Hardy spaces $H^p_{\nabla L^{-1/2},q}(w)$ and $H^p_{\mathcal{S}_{\mathrm{H}},q}(w)$ are isomorphic, in some range of $p'$s, and $q\in \mathcal{W}_w(q_-(L),q_+(L))$.

Conical square functions for degenerate elliptic operators

The aim of this paper is to study the boundedness of different conical square functions that arise naturally from second order divergence form degenerate elliptic operators. More precisely, let $L_w=w^{-1}\,{\rm div}(w\,A\,\nabla)$ where $w\in A_2$ and $A$ is an $n\times n$ bounded, complex-valued, uniformly elliptic matrix. D. Cruz-Uribe and C. Rios solved the $L^2(w)$-Kato square root problem obtaining that $\sqrt{L_w}$ is equivalent to the gradient on $L^2(w)$. The same authors in collaboration with the second named author of this paper studied the $L^p(w)$-boundedness of operators that are naturally associated with $L_w$, such as the functional calculus, Riesz transforms, or vertical square functions. The theory developed admitted also weighted estimates (i.e., estimates in $L^p(v dw)$ for $v\in A_\infty(w)$), and in particular a class of "degeneracy" weights $w$ was found in such a way that the classical $L^2$-Kato problem can be solved. In this paper, continuing this line of research, and also that originated in some recent results by the second and third named authors of the current paper, we study the boundedness on $L^p(w)$ and on $L^p(v dw)$, with $v\in A_\infty(w)$, of the conical square functions that one can construct using the heat or Poisson semigroup associated with $L_w$. As a consequence of our methods, we find a class of degeneracy weights $w$ for which $L^2$-estimates for these conical square functions hold. This opens the door to the study of weighted and unweighted Hardy spaces and of boundary value problems associated with $L_w$.

Weighted Hardy spaces associated with elliptic operators. Part I: Weighted norm inequalities for conical square functions

This is the first part of a series of three articles. In this paper, we obtain weighted norm inequalities for different conical square functions associated with the Heat and the Poisson semigroups generated by a second order divergence form elliptic operator with bounded complex coefficients. We find classes of Muckenhoupt weights where the square functions are comparable and/or bounded. These classes are natural from the point of view of the ranges where the unweighted estimates hold. In doing that, we obtain sharp weighted change of angle formulas which allow us to compare conical square functions with different cone apertures in weighted Lebesgue spaces. A key ingredient in our proofs is a generalization of the Carleson measure condition which is more natural when estimating the square functions below $p=2$.

Weighted Hardy spaces associated with elliptic operators. Part II: Characterizations of $H^1_L(w)$

Given a Muckenhoupt weight $w$ and a second order divergence form elliptic operator $L$, we consider different versions of the weighted Hardy space $H^1_L(w)$ defined by conical square functions and non-tangential maximal functions associated with the heat and Poisson semigroups generated by $L$. We show that all of them are isomorphic and also that $H^1_L(w)$ admits a molecular characterization. One of the advantages of our methods is that our assumptions extend naturally the unweighted theory developed by S. Hofmann and S. Mayboroda and we can immediately recover the unweighted case. Some of our tools consist in establishing weighted norm inequalities for the non-tangential maximal functions, as well as comparing them with some conical square functions in weighted Lebesgue spaces.

Tent Space Boundedness Via Extrapolation

We study the action of operators on tent spaces such as maximal operators, Calder{ó}n-Zygmund operators, Riesz potentials. We also consider singular non-integral operators. We obtain boundedness as an application of extrapolation methods in the Banach range. In the non Banach range, boundedness results for Calder{ó}n-Zygmund operators follows by using an appropriate atomic theory. We end with some consequences on amalgalm spaces.
