Cosmological Stealth fields and Non-Equilibrium thermodynamics

We investigate the connection between cosmological stealth scalar fields and non-equilibrium thermodynamics in a spatially flat Friedmann-Lemaître-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) background. We consider a non-minimally coupled scalar field whose energy-momentum tensor vanishes identically, allowing the field to evolve on a dissipative cosmological background without producing gravitational backreaction. We show that the stealth condition leads to a generalized Riccati equation for the scalar-field kinematics, where the dissipative pressure acts as a thermodynamic driving term. In terms of the variable $y=\dotϕ/(Hϕ)$, the system admits two thermodynamic branches: a stable attractor selected by entropy production and an unstable repeller. We also construct the corresponding phase-space structure in the $(y,ω_{\rm eff})$ plane and identify a near-critical regime associated with $ζ=1/4$. Finally, we reconstruct the stealth potential and present a bulk viscous realization in which irreversible entropy production drives the universe toward an asymptotic de Sitter state while the stealth field tracks the dissipative background. We further develop the linear scalar perturbations of the model and show that, although the stealth field is gravitationally invisible at the background level, its perturbation couples directly to the dissipative-pressure perturbation. This coupling provides a mechanism for distinguishing dissipative and non-dissipative sources that share the same background expansion history. Our results suggest that stealth fields can be interpreted as dynamically non-trivial thermodynamic trackers of non-equilibrium cosmological evolution.

Non-geometrical perturbation on homogeneous stealth dust

In this work, we study a non-geometrical perturbation to the stealth field, which means the background remains invariant. The stealh is homogeneous in a universe whose source is dust and demand that perturbation unchanged density. As a regular procedure, we introduce a parameter $λ$ to perturb the scalar field equation and get an intriguing expression of the equation, similar to a series expansion in $λ$. From this procedure, we distinguish and approach to discriminate solutions, and the numerical solutions show that the most significant contribution to the solution comes from the linear term of $λ$.

Stealth's cosmologies

We present a novel approach to construct cosmological models endowed with a particular scalar field, the stealth. The model is constructed by studying a scalar field no-minimally coupled to the gravitational field with sources; as sources, we used a perfect fluid and analyzed the simplest case of dust and the power-law cosmology. Surprisingly, we find that these stealth fields, which have no back-reaction to background space-time, have a contribution to cosmological dynamics. Furthermore, we provide analytic expressions of the stealth's contributions to the energy density in both cases, and for the pressure in the power-low cosmology, which means that such contributions to cosmological evolution are quantifiable. Additionally, we discuss the behaviors of the self-interaction potential for some cases.

Stealths on $(1+1)$-dimensional dilatonic gravity

We study gravitational stealth configurations emerging on a charged dilatonic $(1+1)$-D black hole spacetime. We accomplish this by considering the coupling of a non-minimally scalar field $ϕ$ and a self-interacting scalar field $Ψ$ living in a $(1+1)$-D charged black hole background. In addition, the self-interacting potential for $Ψ$ is obtained which exhibits transitions for some specific values of the non-minimal parameter. Atypically, we found that the solutions for these stealth scalar fields do not have a dependence on the temporal coordinate.

Covariant approach of perturbations in Lovelock type brane gravity

We develop a covariant scheme to describe the dynamics of small perturbations on Lovelock type extended objects propagating in a flat Minkowski spacetime. The higher-dimensional analogue of the Jacobi equation in this theory becomes a wave type equation for a scalar field $Φ$. Whithin this framework, we analyse the stability of membranes with a de Sitter geometry where we find that the Jacobi equation specializes to a Klein-Gordon (KG) equation for $Φ$ possessing a tachyonic mass. This shows that, to some extent, these type of extended objects share the symmetries of the Dirac-Nambu-Goto (DNG) action which is by no means coincidental because the DNG model is the simplest included in this type of gravity.

Mimicking the LCDM model with Stealths

We present a new cosmological model that mimics the Lambda Cold Dark Matter by using a stealth field. This kind of field is characterized as not coupling directly to gravity; however, it is connected to the underlying matter content of the universe model. As is known, stealth fields do not back-react on the space-time; however, their mimicry skills show how this field and its self-interaction potential determines the cosmic evolution. We show the study of the simplest model that can be developed with the stealth field.

Curvaton reheating in non-minimal derivative coupling to gravity: NO models

The curvaton reheating mechanism in a non-minimal derivative coupling to gravity for any non-oscillating (NO) model is studied. In this framework, we analyze the energy density during the kinetic epoch and we find that this energy has a complicated dependencies of the scale factor. Considering this mechanism, we study the decay of the curvaton in two different scenarios and also we determine the reheating temperatures. As an example the NO model, we consider an exponential potential and we obtain the reheating temperature indirectly from the inflation through of the number of e-folds.

On the flat spacetime Galileons and the Born-Infeld type structures

We show how the flat spacetime Galileon field theories (FSGFT) in arbitrary dimensions can be obtained through a Born-Infeld type structure. This construction involves a brane metric and non-linear combinations of derivatives of a scalar field. Our setup gives rise to some Galileon tensors and vectors useful for the variational analysis which are related to the momentum density of the probe Lovelock branes floating in a $N$-dimensional flat bulk. We find further that the Noether currents associated to these Galileon theories may be written in terms of such tensors.

Greybody factors for topological massless black holes

We study the reflection coefficient, the transmission coefficient and the greybody factors for black holes with topologically non trivial transverse sections in 4 and d-dimensions, in the limit of low energy. Considering a massive scalar field in a topological massless black hole background, which is non minimally coupled to the curvature and assuming the horizon geometry with a negative constant curvature. Mainly, we show that there is range of modes which contribute to the absorption cross section in the zero-frequency limit, at difference of the result existing in the literature. Where, the mode with lowest angular momentum contribute to the absorption cross section. Also we show that the condition that the sum of the reflection coefficient and the transmission coefficient is equal to one is always satisfied for these kind of black holes.

Curvaton reheating in logamediate inflationary model

In a logamediate inflationary universe model we introduce the curvaton field in order to bring this inflationary model to an end. In this approach we determine the reheating temperature. We also outline some interesting constraints on the parameters that describe our models. Thus, we give the parameter space in this scenario.

Extended Curvaton reheating in inflationary models

The curvaton reheating in a non-oscillatory inflationary universe model is studied in a Jordan-Brans-Dicke theory. For different scenarios, the temperature of reheating is computed. The result tells us that the reheating temperature becomes practically independent of the Jordan-Brans-Dicke parameter $w$. This reheating temperature results to be quite different when compared with that obtained from Einstein`s theory of gravity.

Curvaton reheating in tachyonic braneworld inflation

The curvaton reheating in a tachyonic braneworld inflationary universe model with an exponential potential is studied. We have found that the energy density in the kinetic epoch, has a complicated dependencies of the scale factor. For different scenarios the temperature of reheating is computed, finding an upper limit that lies in the range $10^{14}$--$10^{16}$GeV.

Conformally Flat Noncircular Spacetimes

The general metric for conformally flat stationary cyclic symmetric noncircular spacetimes is explicitly given. In spite of the complexity introduced by the inclusion of noncircular contributions, the related metric is derived via the full integration of the conformal flatness constraints. It is also shown that the conditions for the existence of a rotation axis (axisymmetry) are the same ones which restrict the above class of spacetimes to be static. As a consequence, a known theorem by Collinson is just part of a more general result: any conformally flat stationary cyclic symmetric spacetime, even a noncircular one, is additionally axisymmetric if and only if it is also static. Since recent astrophysical motivations point in the direction of considering noncircular configurations to describe magnetized neutron stars, the above results seem to be relevant in this context.

Circular stationary cyclic symmetric spacetimes; conformal flatness

A subclassification of stationary spacetimes, endowed with one timelike and one spacelike Killing vectors, i.e., Petrov $G{_2}I$ on $T_2$ spaces, is proposed. Special attention deserves the Collison's theorem [1] and the branch of metrics circularly cyclicly (axially) symmetric possessing additionally the conformal flatness property reported by Garcia and Campuzano [2].

All Static Circularly Symmetric Perfect Fluid Solutions of 2+1 Gravity

Via a straightforward integration of the Einstein equations with cosmological constant, all static circularly symmetric perfect fluid 2+1 solutions are derived. The structural functions of the metric depend on the energy density, which remains in general arbitrary. Spacetimes for fluids fulfilling linear and polytropic state equations are explicitly derived; they describe, among others, stiff matter, monatomic and diatomic ideal gases, nonrelativistic degenerate fermions, incoherent and pure radiation. As a by--product, we demonstrate the uniqueness of the constant energy density perfect fluid within the studied class of metrics. A full similarity of the perfect fluid solutions with constant energy density of the 2+1 and 3+1 gravities is established.

On Conformally Flat Stationary Axisymmetric Spacetimes

It is shown that within conformally flat stationary axisymmetric spacetimes, besides of the static family, there exists a new class of metrics, which is always stationary and axisymmetric. All these spacetimes, the static and the stationary ones, are endowed with an arbitrary function depending on the two non--Killingian coordinates. The explicit form of this function can be determined once the coupled matter, i.e., the energy--momentum tensor is given. One might hope possible extensions of this result to black holes on two--branes in four dimensions.
