Schrodinger-Kirchhoff-Poisson type systems

In this article we study the existence of solutions to the system \begin{equation*}\left\{ \begin{array}{ll} -\left(a+b\int_Ω|\nabla u|^{2}\right)Δu +ϕu= f(x, u) &\text{in }Ω\hbox{} -Δϕ= u^{2} &\text{in }Ω\hbox{} u=ϕ=0&\text{on }\partialΩ, \hbox{} \end{array} \right. \end{equation*} where $Ω$ is a bounded smooth domain of $\mathbb{R}^N$ ($N=1,2$ or $3$), $a>0$, $b\geq0$, and $f:\overlineΩ\times \mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}$ is a continuous function which is $3$-superlinear. By using some variants of the mountain pass theorem established in this paper, we show the existence of three solutions: one positive, one negative, and one which changes its sign. Furthermore, in case $f$ is odd with respect to $u$ we obtain an unbounded sequence of sign-changing solutions.

On differential systems with strongly indefinite variational structure

We obtain multiplicity results for a class of first-order superquadratic Hamiltonian systems and a class of indefinite superquadratic elliptic systems which lead to the study of strongly indefinite functionals. There is no assumption to the effect that the nonlinear terms have to satisfy the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz superquadratic condition. To establish the existence of solutions, a new version of the symmetric mountain pass theorem for strongly indefinite functionals is presented in this paper. This theorem is subsequently applied to deal with cases where all the Palais-Smale sequences of the energy functional may be unbounded.

On a superquadratic elliptic system with strongly indefinite structure

In this paper, we consider the elliptic system \begin{equation*} \left\{\begin{array}{ll} -Δu=g(x,v)\,\, \textnormal{in}Ω, & \hbox{} -Δv=f(x,u)\,\,\textnormal{in}Ω, & \hbox{} u=v=0\textnormal{on}\partialΩ, & \hbox{} \end{array} \right. \end{equation*} where $Ω$ is a bounded smooth domain in $\mathbb{R}^N$, and $f$ and $g$ satisfy a general superquadratic condition. By using variational methods, we prove the existence of infinitely many solutions. Our argument relies on the application of a generalized variant fountain theorem for strongly indefinite functionals. Previous results in the topic are improved.

Homoclinic orbits of first-order superquadratic Hamiltonian systems

In this article, we study the existence of homoclinic orbits for the first-order Hamiltonian system {equation*} J\dot{u}(t)+\nabla H(t,u(t))=0,\quad t\in\mathbb{R}. {equation*} Under the Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz's superquadraticy condition, or no Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz's superquadracity condition, we present two results on the existence of infinitely many large energy homoclinic orbits when $H$ is even in $u$. We apply the generalized (variant) fountain theorems due to the author and Colin. Under no Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz's superquadracity condition, we also obtain the existence of a ground state homoclinic orbit by using the method of the generalized Nehari manifold for strongly indefinite functionals developed by Szulkin and Weth.

Generalized fountain theorem and application to strongly indefinite semilinear problems

By using the degree theory and the $τ-$topology of Kryszewski and Szulkin, we establish a version of the Fountain Theorem for strongly indefinite functionals. The abstract result will be applied for studying the existence of infinitely many solutions of two strongly indefinite semilinear problems including the semilinear Schrödinger equation.
