Exotic Bialgebra S03: Representations, Baxterisation and Applications

The exotic bialgebra S03, defined by a solution of the Yang-Baxter equation, which is not a deformation of the trivial, is considered. Its FRT dual algebra $s03_F$ is studied. The Baxterisation of the dual algebra is given in two different parametrisations. The finite-dimensional representations of $s03_F$ are considered. Diagonalisations of the braid matrices are used to yield remarkable insights concerning representations of the L-algebra and to formulate the fusion of finite-dimensional representations. Possible applications are considered, in particular, an exotic eight-vertex model and an integrable spin-chain model.

Spectrum and Bethe ansatz equations for the U_ {q}(gl(N)) closed and open spin chains in any representation

We consider the N-site U_{q}(gl(N)) integrable spin chain with periodic and open diagonal soliton-preserving boundary conditions. By employing analytical Bethe ansatz techniques we are able to determine the spectrum and the corresponding Bethe ansatz equations for the general case, where each site of the spin chain is associated to any representation of U_{q}(gl(N)). In the case of open spin chain, we study finite dimensional representations of the quantum reflection algebra, and prove in full generality that the pseudo-vacuum is a highest weight of the monodromy matrix. For these two types of spin chain, we study the (generalized) "algebraic" fusion procedures, which amount to construct the quantum contraction and the Sklyanin determinant for the affine U_{q}(gl(N)) and quantum reflection algebras. We also determine the symmetry algebra of these two types of spin chains, including general K and K^+ diagonal matrices for the open case. The case of open spin chains with soliton non-preserving boundary conditions is also presented in the framework of quantum twisted Yangians. The symmetry algebra of this spin chains is studied. We also give an exhaustive classification of the invertible matricial solutions to the corresponding reflection equation.

Sugawara and vertex operator constructions for deformed Virasoro algebras

From the defining exchange relations of the A_{q,p}(gl_{N}) elliptic quantum algebra, we construct subalgebras which can be characterized as q-deformed W_N algebras. The consistency conditions relating the parameters p,q,N and the central charge c are shown to be related to the singularity structure of the functional coefficients defining the exchange relations of specific vertex operators representations of A_{q,p}({gl_{N}) available when N=2.

On the R-matrix realization of Yangians and their representations

We study the Yangians Y(a) associated with the simple Lie algebras a of type B, C or D. The algebra Y(a) can be regarded as a quotient of the extended Yangian X(a) whose defining relations are written in an R-matrix form. In this paper we are concerned with the algebraic structure and representations of the algebra X(a). We prove an analog of the Poincare-Birkhoff-Witt theorem for X(a) and show that the Yangian Y(a) can be realized as a subalgebra of X(a). Furthermore, we give an independent proof of the classification theorem for the finite-dimensional irreducible representations of X(a) which implies the corresponding theorem of Drinfeld for the Yangians Y(a). We also give explicit constructions for all fundamental representation of the Yangians.

Analytical Bethe ansatz in gl(N) spin chains

We present a global treatment of the analytical Bethe ansatz for gl(N) spin chains admitting on each site an arbitrary representation. The method applies for closed and open spin chains, and also to the case of soliton non-preserving boundaries.

Analytical Bethe Ansatz for open spin chains with soliton non preserving boundary conditions

We present an ``algebraic treatment'' of the analytical Bethe ansatz for open spin chains with soliton non preserving (SNP) boundary conditions. For this purpose, we introduce abstract monodromy and transfer matrices which provide an algebraic framework for the analytical Bethe ansatz. It allows us to deal with a generic gl(N) open SNP spin chain possessing on each site an arbitrary representation. As a result, we obtain the Bethe equations in their full generality. The classification of finite dimensional irreducible representations for the twisted Yangians are directly linked to the calculation of the transfer matrix eigenvalues.

On sl(N) and sl(M|N) integrable open spin chains

We study open spin chains based on rational sl(N) and sl(M|N) R-matrices. We classify the solutions of the reflection equations, for both the soliton-preserving and soliton-non-preserving cases. We then write the Bethe equations for these open spin chains.

Spectral Decomposition and Baxterisation of Exotic Bialgebras and Associated Noncommutative Geometries

We study the geometric aspects of two exotic bialgebras S03 and S14 introduced in math.QA/0206053. These bialgebras are obtained by the Faddeev-Reshetikhin-Takhtajan RTT prescription with non-triangular R-matrices which are denoted $R_{03}$ and $R_{14}$ in the classification of Hietarinta, and they are not deformations of either GL(2) or GL(1/1). We give the spectral decomposition which involves two, resp., three, projectors. These projectors are then used to provide the Baxterisation procedure with one, resp., two, parameters. Further, the projectors are used to construct the noncommutative planes together with the corresponding differentials following the Wess-Zumino prescription. In all these constructions there appear non-standard features which are noted. Such features show the importance of systematic study of all bialgebras of four generators.

Exotic bialgebras : non-deformation quantum groups

In the classification of solutions of the Yang--Baxter equation, there are solutions that are not deformations of the trivial solution (essentially the identity). We consider the algebras defined by these solutions, and the corresponding dual algebras. We then study the representations of the latter. We are also interested in the Baxterisation of these $R$-matrices and in the corresponding quantum planes.

On plane wave and vortex-like solutions of noncommutative Maxwell-Chern-Simons theory

We investigate the spectrum of the gauge theory with Chern-Simons term on the noncommutative plane, a modification of the description of the Quantum Hall fluid recently proposed by Susskind. We find a series of the noncommutative massive ``plane wave'' solutions with polarization dependent on the magnitude of the wave-vector. The mass of each branch is fixed by the quantization condition imposed on the coefficient of the noncommutative Chern-Simons term. For the radially symmetric ansatz a vortex-like solution is found and investigated. We derive a nonlinear difference equation describing these solutions and we find their asymptotic form. These excitations should be relevant in describing the Quantum Hall transitions between plateaus and the end transition to the Hall Insulator.

Duality and Representations for New Exotic Bialgebras

We find the exotic matrix bialgebras which correspond to the two non-triangular nonsingular 4x4 R-matrices in the classification of Hietarinta, namely, R_{S0,3} and R_{S1,4}. We find two new exotic bialgebras S03 and S14 which are not deformations of the of the classical algebras of functions on GL(2) or GL(1|1). With this we finalize the classification of the matrix bialgebras which unital associative algebras generated by four elements. We also find the corresponding dual bialgebras of these new exotic bialgebras and study their representation theory in detail. We also discuss in detail a special case of R_{S1,4} in which the corresponding algebra turns out to be a special case of the two-parameter quantum group deformation GL_{p,q}(2).

Multi-leg integrable ladder models

We construct integrable spin chains with inhomogeneous periodic disposition of the anisotropy parameter. The periodicity holds for both auxiliary (space) and quantum (time) directions. The integrability of the model is based on a set of coupled Yang-Baxter equations. This construction yields P-leg integrable ladder Hamiltonians. We analyse the corresponding quantum group symmetry.

Super Yangian Y(osp(1|2)) and the Universal R-matrix of its Quantum Double

We present the Drinfel'd realisation of the super Yangian Y(osp(1|2)), including the explicit expression for the coproduct. We show in particular that it is necessary to introduce supplementary Serre relations. The construction of its quantum double is carried out. This allows us to give the universal R-matrix of DY(osp(1|2)).

Integrable XYZ Model with Staggered Anisotropy Parameter

We apply to the XYZ model the technique of construction of integrable models with staggered parameters, presented recently for the XXZ case. The solution of modified Yang-Baxter equations is found and the corresponding integrable zig-zag ladder Hamiltonian is calculated. The result is coinciding with the XXZ case in the appropriate limit.

Generalization of the U_q(gl(N)) algebra and staggered models

We develop a technique of construction of integrable models with a Z_2 grading of both the auxiliary (chain) and quantum (time) spaces. These models have a staggered disposition of the anisotropy parameter. The corresponding Yang-Baxter Equations are written down and their solution for the gl(N) case are found. We analyze in details the N=2 case and find the corresponding quantum group behind this solution. It can be regarded as quantum U_{q,B}(gl(2)) group with a matrix deformation parameter qB with (qB)^2=q^2. The symmetry behind these models can also be interpreted as the tensor product of the (-1)-Weyl algebra by an extension of U_q(gl(N)) with a Cartan generator related to deformation parameter -1.
