Existence of non-exotic traversable wormholes in squared trace extended gravity theory

An extended gravity theory is used to explore the possibility of non-exotic matter traversable wormholes. In the extended gravity theory, additional terms linear and quadratic in the trace of the energy momentum tensor are considered in the Einstein-Hilbert action. Obviously, such an addition leads to violation of the energy-momentum tensor. The model parameters are constrained from the structure of the field equations. Non-exotic matter wormholes tend to satisfy the null energy conditions. We use two different traversable wormhole geometries namely an exponential and a power law shape functions to model the wormholes. From a detailed analysis of the energy conditions, it is found that, the existence of non-exotic matter traversable wormholes is not obvious in the model considered and its possibility may depend on the choice of the wormhole geometry. Also, we found that, non-exotic wormholes are possible within the given squared trace extended gravity theory for a narrow range of the chosen equation of state parameter.

Constraining Nuclear Symmetry Energy parameters from Neutron skin thickness of $^{48}$Ca

In the present work, we use a finite range effective interaction to calculate the neutron skin thickness in $^{48}$Ca and correlate these quantities with the parameters of nuclear symmetry energy. Available experimental data on the neutron skin thickness in $^{48}$Ca are used to deduce information on the density slope parameter and the curvature symmetry parameter of the nuclear symmetry energy at saturation and at subsaturation densities. We obtained the constraints such as $54.5\leq L(\rho_0) \leq 97.5$ MeV and $47.3\leq L(\rho_c) \leq 57.1$ MeV for the density slope parameter. The constraints on the curvature symmetry energy parameter are obtained as $-170.7\leq K_{sym}(\rho_0) \leq -43.4$ MeV and $-80.8\leq K_{sym}(\rho_c) \leq 23.8$ MeV. A linear relation between the neutron skin thickness in $^{48}$Ca and in $^{2088}$Pb is obtained.

Nuclear Symmetry Energy and Neutron Skin Thickness of $^{208}Pb $ using a finite range effective interaction

We use a finite range simple effective interaction to construct nuclear equations of state for the study of the density dependence of the nuclear symmetry energy. The EoSs provide good descriptions of the nuclear symmetry energy at a subsaturation density $\rho_c=0.11$ fm$^{-3}$ and at a density around two times the saturation density $\rho_0$. We obtain a correlation between the neutron skin thickness in $^{208}$Pb and the density slope parameter at the subsaturation density. A linear relation is obtained between the neutron skin thickness and the parameter $\beta^{\prime}=\frac{L(\rho_c)}{3E_s(\rho_0)}$, where $E_s(\rho_0)$ and $L(\rho_c)$ are respectively the nuclear symmetry energy at saturation density and the density slope parameter at the subsaturation density.

Unified Dark Fluid and Cosmic Transit Models in Brans-Dicke Theory

Some dark energy cosmological models are constructed in the framework of a generalised Brans-Dicke theory which contains a self interacting potential and a dynamical coupling parameter. The dark sector of the universe is considered through a unified linear equation of state. The parameters of the unified dark fluid have been constrained from some physical basis. Since the universe is believed to have undergone a transition from an early deceleration to a late time acceleration, the deceleration parameter should have a signature flipping behaviour at the transition redshift. We have used a hybrid scale factor to simulate the dynamical behaviour of the deceleration parameter. Basing upon the observational constraints on the transition redshift, we have constructed four different transitioning dark energy models. The constructed models are confronted with observational data. For all the models, the behaviour of the dynamical scalar field, Brans-Dicke parameter, Self interacting potential are investigated. Also, on the basis of the generalised Brans-Dicke theory, we have estimated the time variation of the Newtonian gravitational constant.

Anisotropic Cosmological Model with Variable G and Lambda

Anisotropic Bianchi-III cosmological model is investigated with variable gravitational and cosmological constants in the framework of Einstein's general relativity. The shear scalar is considered to be proportional to the expansion scalar. The dynamics of the anisotropic universe with variable G and Lambda are discussed. Without assuming any specific forms for Lambda and the metric potentials, we have tried to extract the time variation of G and Lambda from the anisotropic model. The extracted G and Lambda are in conformity with the present day observation. Basing upon the observational limits, the behaviour and range of the effective equation of state parameter are discussed.
