Noncommutative geometry-inspired wormholes supported by quasi-de Sitter and Chaplygin-like equations of state

We construct static, spherically symmetric wormhole solutions with a nontrivial redshift function, inspired by noncommutative geometry, in which point sources are replaced by Gaussian smearing of minimal length, yielding a regular shape function. Within this framework, we derive model-independent relations that isolate the role of the redshift function in controlling the stress-energy components and the violation of the null energy condition (NEC). Negative or suitably tuned redshifts confine the exotic matter to a thin neighborhood of the throat. We then reformulate this redshift engineering in matter terms through a quasi-de Sitter equation of state (EOS) with localized Gaussian or Lorentzian perturbations, obtaining minimally exotic wormholes that are regular, horizon-free, and asymptotically flat. Finally, we extend the analysis to a Chaplygin-like EOS, introducing a nonlinear coupling between pressure and density that yields redshift wells with possible local blueshift regions and tunable anisotropies governed by a certain nonlinearity parameter. Together, these results provide a unified and physically transparent framework for constructing traversable noncommutative-geometry-inspired wormholes with controlled, spatially localized exotic matter content.

Parametrically enhancing sensor sensitivity at an exceptional point

We propose a scheme to enhance the sensitivity of Non-Hermitian optomechanical mass-sensors. The benchmark system consists of two coupled optomechanical systems where the mechanical resonators are mechanically coupled. The optical cavities are driven either by a blue or red detuned laser to produce gain and loss, respectively. Moreover, the mechanical resonators are parametrically driven through the modulation of their spring constant. For a specific strength of the optical driving field and without parametric driving, the system features an Exceptional Point (EP). Any perturbation to the mechanical frequency (dissipation) induces a splitting (shifting) of the EP, which scales as the square root of the perturbation strength, resulting in a sensitivity-factor enhancement compared with conventional optomechanical sensors. The sensitivity enhancement induced by the shifting scenario is weak as compared to the one based on the splitting phenomenon. By switching on parametric driving, the sensitivity of both sensing schemes is greatly improved, yielding to a better performance of the sensor. We have also confirmed these results through an analysis of the output spectra and the transmissions of the optical cavities. In addition to enhancing EP sensitivity, our scheme also reveals nonlinear effects on sensing under splitting and shifting scenarii. This work sheds light on new mechanisms of enhancing the sensitivity of Non-Hermitian mass sensors, paving a way to improve sensors performance for better nanoparticles or pollutants detection, and for water treatment.

Emergence and enhancement of feedback control induced quantum entanglement

We present a scheme for controlling quantum correlations by applying feedback to the cavity mode that exits a cavity while interacting with a mechanical oscillator and magnons. In a hybrid cavity magnomechanical system with a movable mirror, the proposed coherent feedback scheme allows for the enhancement of both bipartite and tripartite quantum correlations. Moreover, we demonstrate that the resulting entanglement remains robust with respect to ambient temperatures in the presence of coherent feedback control.

High-order nonlinear Schrödinger equation for the envelope of slowly modulated gravity waves on the surface of finite-depth fluid and its quasi-soliton solutions

We consider the high-order nonlinear Schrödinger equation derived earlier by Sedletsky [Ukr. J. Phys. 48(1), 82 (2003)] for the first-harmonic envelope of slowly modulated gravity waves on the surface of finite-depth irrotational, inviscid, and incompressible fluid with flat bottom. This equation takes into account the third-order dispersion and cubic nonlinear dispersive terms. We rewrite this equation in dimensionless form featuring only one dimensionless parameter $kh$, where $k$ is the carrier wavenumber and $h$ is the undisturbed fluid depth. We show that one-soliton solutions of the classical nonlinear Schrödinger equation are transformed into quasi-soliton solutions with slowly varying amplitude when the high-order terms are taken into consideration. These quasi-soliton solutions represent the secondary modulations of gravity waves.
