Non Linear Lorentz Transformation and Doubly Special Relativity

We generate non-linear representations of the Lorentz Group by unitary transformation over the Lorentz generators. To do that we use deformed scale transformations by introducing momentum-depending parameters. The momentum operator transformation is found to be equivalent to a particle momentum transformation. The configuration space transformation is found to depend on the old momentum operator and we show that this transformation generates models with two scales, one for the velocity ($c$) and another one for the energy. A Lagrangian formalism is proposed for these models and an effective metric for the deformed Minkowski space is found. We show that the Smolin model is one in a family of doubly special relativity. Finally we construct an ansatz for the quantization of such theories.

Landau-Zener Probability Reviewed

We examine the survival probability for neutrino propagation through matter with variable density. We present a new method to calculate the level-crossing probability that differs from Landau's method by constant factor, which is relevant in the interpretation of neutrino flux from supernova explosion.

The Faddeev-Popov term reviewed

Some textbooks and reports claim that the Jacobian which arises in the discussion of the Faddeev-Popov method to quantize non-Abelian gauge theories and which is given by the derivative of the gauge fixing conditions over the gauge group parameters, is gauge invariant. Other references however prove the opposite. In this brief report we present a discussion about this matter.

Symmetry Breaking in $[SU(6)]^3\times Z_3$

We analize the different ways for the spontaneous breaking of the gauge symmetry, for the $[SU(6)]^3\otimes Z_3$ family unification model. In particular we study the consequences of a previous selection for the vacuum expectation values of the Higgs fields, showing that such set predicts unwanted flavor changing neutral currents at the $m_Z=91 GeVs$ mass scale. A new set of vacuum expectation values which solves this problem is proposed.
