Particle Correlation Results from the ALICE Experiment at LHC

Measurements of two-particle correlations of inclusive and identified charged particles performed with the ALICE detector in Pb--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 2.76 TeV$ are presented. The near-side jet shape is analyzed in the low $p_{\rm T}$ regions ($1<$p_{\rm T}$<8GeV/c$). While the RMS of the peak in $Δφ$-direction is independent of centrality within uncertainties, we find significant broadening in $Δη$-direction from peripheral to central collisions. The near-side $p/π$ ratio of particles associated to a trigger particle from jet fragmentation in the central Pb--Pb collisions is consistent with vacuum fragmentation in the measured momentum region ($1.5<$p_{\rm T}$<4.5GeV\c$).

Jet properties from direct $γ$ - hadron correlation in PHENIX at RHIC

Two-particle correlations of direct photon triggers with associated hadrons are obtained by isolation method in p+p collisions at \sqrt{s} = 200 GeV in PHENIX at RHIC. The initial momentum of the away-side parton is tightly constrained, because the parton-photon pair is balanced in momentum at the leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics (pQCD). Therefore making such correlations can be used as a tool to measure the away-side parton fragmentation function. The direct photon associated yields in p+p collisions are compared with PYTHIA and the effect of the $k_{T}$ smearing in the spectra is discussed.
