$W^{1,p}$ regularity of solutions to Kolmogorov equation and associated Feller semigroup

In $\mathbb R^d$, $d \geq 3$, consider the divergence and the non-divergence form operators \begin{equation} \tag{$i$} - \nabla \cdot a \cdot \nabla + b \cdot \nabla, \end{equation} \begin{equation} \tag{$ii$} - a \cdot \nabla^2 + b \cdot \nabla, \end{equation} where $a=I+c \mathsf{f} \otimes \mathsf{f}$, the vector fields $\nabla_i \mathsf{f}$ ($i=1,2,\dots,d$) and $b$ are form-bounded (this includes the sub-critical class $[L^d + L^\infty]^d$ as well as vector fields having critical-order singularities). We characterize quantitative dependence on $c$ and the values of the form-bounds of the $L^q \rightarrow W^{1,qd/(d-2)}$ regularity of the resolvents of the operator realizations of ($i$), ($ii$) in $L^q$, $q \geq 2 \vee ( d-2)$ as (minus) generators of positivity preserving $L^\infty$ contraction $C_0$ semigroups. The latter allows to run an iteration procedure $L^p \rightarrow L^\infty$ that yields associated with ($i$), ($ii$) $L^q$-strong Feller semigroups.

Brownian motion with general drift

We construct and study the weak solution to stochastic differential equation $dX(t)=-b(X(t))dt+\sqrt{2}dW(t)$, $X_0=x$, for every $x \in \mathbb R^d$, $d \geq 3$, with $b$ in the class of weakly form-bounded vector fields, containing, as proper subclasses, a sub-critical class $[L^d+L^\infty]^d$, as well as critical classes such as weak $L^d$ class, Kato class, Campanato-Morrey class, Chang-Wilson-T. Wolff class.

Kohn decomposition for forms on coverings of complex manifolds constrained along fibres

The classical result of J.J. Kohn asserts that over a relatively compact subdomain $D$ with $C^\infty$ boundary of a Hermitian manifold whose Levi form has at least $n-q$ positive eigenvalues or at least $q+1$ negative eigenvalues at each boundary point, there are natural isomorphisms between the $(p,q)$ Dolbeault cohomology groups defined by means of $C^\infty$ up to the boundary differential forms on $D$ and the (finite-dimensional) spaces of harmonic $(p,q)$-forms on $D$ determined by the corresponding complex Laplace operator. In the present paper, using Kohn's technique, we give a similar description of the $(p,q)$ Dolbeault cohomology groups of spaces of differential forms taking values in certain (possibly infinite-dimensional) holomorphic Banach vector bundles on $D$. We apply this result to compute the $(p,q)$ Dolbeault cohomology groups of some regular coverings of $D$ defined by means of $C^\infty$ forms constrained along fibres of the coverings.

Towards Oka-Cartan theory for algebras of holomorphic functions on coverings of Stein manifolds I

We develop complex function theory within certain algebras of holomorphic functions on coverings of Stein manifolds. This, in particular, includes the results on holomorphic extension from complex submanifolds, corona type theorems, properties of divisors, holomorphic analogs of the Peter-Weyl approximation theorem, Hartogs type theorems, characterization of uniqueness sets. The model examples of these algebras are: (1) Bohr's algebra of holomorphic almost periodic functions on tube domains; (2) algebra of all fibrewise bounded holomorphic functions (e.g., arising in the corona problem for $H^\infty$). Our approach is based on an extension of the classical Oka-Cartan theory to coherent-type sheaves on the maximal ideal spaces of these algebras -- topological spaces having some features of complex manifolds.

Towards Oka-Cartan theory for algebras of holomorphic functions on coverings of Stein manifolds II

We establish basic results of complex function theory within certain algebras of holomorphic functions on coverings of Stein manifolds (such as algebras of Bohr's holomorphic almost periodic functions on tube domains or algebras of all fibrewise bounded holomorphic functions arising, e.g., in the corona problem for $H^\infty$). In particular, in this context we obtain results on holomorphic extension from complex submanifolds, properties of divisors, corona type theorems, holomorphic analogues of the Peter-Weyl approximation theorem, Hartogs type theorems, characterizations of uniqueness sets, etc. Our proofs are based on analogues of Cartan theorems A and B for coherent type sheaves on maximal ideal spaces of these algebras proved in Part I.

Holomorphic semi-almost periodic functions

We study the Banach algebras of bounded holomorphic functions on the unit disk whose boundary values, having, in a sense, the weakest possible discontinuities, belong to the algebra of semi-almost periodic functions on the unit circle. The latter algebra contains as a special case an algebra introduced by Sarason in connection with some problems in the theory of Toeplitz operators.

Schrödinger operators and unique continuation. Towards an optimal result

In this article we prove the property of unique continuation (also known for C^\infty functions as quasianalyticity) for solutions of the differential inequality |Δu| \leq |Vu| for V from a wide class of potentials (including L^{d/2,\infty}_{\loc}(R^d) class) and u in a space of solutions Y_V containing all eigenfunctions of the corresponding self-adjoint Schrödinger operator. Motivating question: is it true that for potentials V, for which self-adjoint Schrödinger operator is well defined, the property of unique continuation holds?

The space of distributions with discontinuous test functions and a family of zero-sum games with discontinuous payoffs

In the present paper we consider one class of zero-sum games with discontinuous payoffs which may have no solutions in the sets of pure or mixed strategies. We show that, however, the solution always exists in the set of so-called $\mathcal R'$-mixed strategies which are the elements of the space $\mathcal R'$ of distributions with discontinuous test functions. The advantages of the new space of distributions (in comparison with the classical space $\mathcal D'$ of distributions with continuous or smooth test functions), that is, the possibility to define in $\mathcal R'$ the operations of integrations of distributions and multiplication of distributions by discontinuous functions, which are correct in the sense that they are everywhere defined, continuous and coincide with the ordinary operations for regular distributions, are crucial for our proof of existence of solution.

Systems with distributions and viability theorem

The approach to the consideration of the ordinary differential equations with distributions in the classical space $\mathcal D'$ of distributions with continuous test functions has certain insufficiencies: the notations are incorrect from the point of view of distribution theory, the right-hand side has to satisfy the restrictive conditions of equality type. In the present paper we consider an initial value problem for the ordinary differential equation with distributions in the space of distributions with dynamic test functions $\mathcal T'$, where the continuous operation of multiplication of distributions by discontinuous functions is defined, and show that this approach does not have the aforementioned insufficiencies. We provide the sufficient conditions for viability of solutions of the ordinary differential equations with distributions (a generalization of the Nagumo Theorem), and show that the consideration of the distributional (impulse) controls in the problem for avoidance of encounters with the set (the maximal viability time problem) allows us to provide the existence of solution, which may not exist for the ordinary controls.

Distributions with dynamic test functions and multiplication by discontinuous functions

As follows from the Schwartz Impossibility Theorem, multiplication of two distributions is in general impossible. Nevertheless, often one needs to multiply a distribution by a discontinuous function, not by an arbitrary distribution. In the present paper we construct a space of distributions where the general operation of multiplication by a discontinuous function is defined, continuous, commutative, associative and for which the Leibniz product rule holds. In the new space of distributions, the classical delta-function $δ_τ$ extends to a family of delta-functions $δ_τ^α$, dependent on the \textit{shape} $α$. We show that the various known definitions of the product of the Heaviside function and the delta-function in the classical space of distributions $\mathcal D'$ become particular cases of the multiplication in the new space of distributions, and provide the applications of the new space of distributions to the ordinary differential equations which arise in optimal control theory. Also, we compare our approach of the Schwartz distribution theory with the approach of the Colombeau generalized functions algebra, where the general operation of multiplication of two distributions is defined.
