Bending of light: A classical analysis

In this work we applied Soldner's classical approach for bending of light in the context of \emph{Newtonian corpuscular theory}. We show that there is a good evidence for existence of a massive photon in new scenario of gravity due to Verlinde[17].

Entropic corrections to Newton's law

In this short letter we calculate separately the generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) and self gravitational corrections to the Newton's gravitational formula. We show that for a complete description of the GUP and self-gravity effects, both temperature and the entropy must be modified.

Bianchi Type I Cosmology in Generalized Saez-Ballester Theory via Noether Gauge Symmetry

In this paper, we investigate the generalized Saez-Ballester scalar-tensor theory of gravity via Noether gauge symmetry (NGS) in the background of Bianchi type I cosmological spacetime. We start with the Lagrangian of our model and calculate its gauge symmetries and corresponding invariant quantities. We obtain the potential function for the scalar field in the exponential form. For all the symmetries obtained, we determine the gauge functions corresponding to each gauge symmmetry which include constant and dynamic gauge. We discuss cosmological implications of our model and show that it is compatible with the observational data.

Reconstruction of some cosmological models in f(R,T) gravity

In this paper, we reconstruct cosmological models in the framework of $f(R,T)$ gravity, where $R$ is the Ricci scalar and $T$ is the trace of the stress-energy tensor. We show that the dust fluid reproduces $Λ$CDM, phantom-non-phantom era and the phantom cosmology. Further, we reconstruct different cosmological models including, Chaplygin gas, scalar field with some specific forms of $f(R,T)$. Our numerical simulation for Hubble parameter shows good agreement with the BAO observational data for low redshifts $z<2$.

Quantized Black Hole and Heun function

Following the simple proposal by He and Ma for quantization of a black hole(BH) by Bohr's idea about the atoms, we discussed the solvability of the wave equation for such a BH. We superficial solved the associated Schrodinger equation. The eigenfunction problem reduces to HeunB $H$ differential equation which is a natural generalization of the hypergeometric differential equation. In other words, the spectrum can be determined by solving the Heun's differential equation.

Fractional Action Cosmology with Power Law Weight Function

Motivated by an earlier work on fractional-action cosmology with a periodic weight function [1], we extend it by choosing a power-law weight function in the action. In this approach, we obtain a varying gravitational coupling constant. We then model dark energy in this paradigm and obtain relevant cosmological parameters.

Attractor Solutions in f(T) Cosmology

In this paper, we explore the cosmological implications of interacting dark energy model in a torsion based gravity namely $f(T)$. Assuming dark energy interacts with dark matter and radiation components, we examine the stability of this model by choosing different forms of interaction terms. We consider three different forms of dark energy: cosmological constant, quintessence and phantom energy. We then obtain several attractor solutions for each dark energy model interacting with other components. This model successfully explains the coincidence problem via the interacting dark energy scenario.

Black hole solutions in F(R) gravity with conformal anomaly

In this paper, we consider $F(R)=R+f(R)$ theory instead of Einstein gravity with conformal anomaly and look for its analytical solutions. Depending on the free parameters, one may obtain both uncharged and charged solutions for some classes of $F(R)$ models. Calculation of Kretschmann scalar shows that there is a singularity located at $r=0$, which the geometry of uncharged (charged) solution is corresponding to the Schwarzschild (Reissner-Nordström) singularity. Further, we discuss the viability of our models in details. We show that these models can be stable depending on their parameters and in different epoches of the universe.

FRW and Bianchi type I cosmology of f-essence

F-essence is a generalization of the usual Dirac model with the nonstandard kinetic term. In this paper, we introduce a new model of spinor cosmology containing both Ricci scalar and the non minimally coupled spinor fields in its action. We have investigated the cosmology with both isotropy and anisotropy, where the equations of motion of FRW and Bianchi type-I spacetimes have been derived and solved numerically. Finally the quantization of these models through Wheeler-De Witt (WD) wave function has been discussed.

Analytical study of critical magnetic field in a holographic superconductor

We analytically sutdy the effect of external magnetic field in a Holographic superconductor by using Sturm-Liouville method. We estimate the coefficient of proportionality at critical temperature and find its denpendence on external magnetic field. By exploring phase diagrams of critical temperature and magnetic field for various condensates, we conclude that a Meissner-like effect is a general feature in Holographic superconductors. We also study the quantum phase transition at zero temperature and find that critical charge density increases linearly with the condensate dimension.

A note on holographic superconductors with Weyl Corrections

We study analytical properties of the holographic superconductors with Weyl corrections. We describe the phenomena in the probe limit neglecting backreaction of the space-time. We observe that for the conformal dimension $\triangle_{+}=3$, the minimum value of the critical temperature $T^{Min}_c$ at which condensation sets, can be obtained directly from the equations of motion as $T^{Min}_c\approx 0.170845\sqrt[3]ρ$, which is in very good agreement with the numerical value $T^{Min}_c=0.170\sqrt[3]ρ$ [Phys.Lett.B697:153-158,2011]. This value of $T^{Min}_c$ corresponds to the value of the Weyl's coupling $γ=-0.06$ in table (1) of [Phys.Lett.B697:153-158,2011]. We calculate the $T^{Min}_c\approx 0.21408\sqrt[3]ρ$ for another Weyl's coupling $γ=0.02$ and the the conformal dimension $\triangle_{-}=1$. Further, we show that the critical exponent is $β=1/2$. We observe that there is a linear relation between the charge density $ρ$ and the chemical potential difference $μ-μ_c$ qualitatively matches the numerical curves.

Gauss-Bonnet holographic superconductors with magnetic field

We study the Gauss-Bonnet (GB) holographic superconductors in the presence of an external magnetic field. We describe the phenomena away from the probe limit. We derive the critical magnetic field of the GB holographic superconductors with backreaction. Our analytical approach matches the numerical calculations. We calculate the backreaction corrections up to first order of $O(κ^2=8πG)$ to the critical temperature $T_C$ and the critical magnetic field $B_C$ for a GB superconductor. We show that the GB coupling $α$ makes the condensation weaker but the backreaction corrections $O(κ^2)$ make the critical magnetic field stronger.

Cosmic Evolution in Brans-Dicke Chameleon Cosmology

We have investigated the Brans-Dicke Chameleon theory of gravity and obtained exact solutions of the scale factor $a(t)$, scalar field $ϕ(t)$, an arbitrary function $f(ϕ)$ which interact with the matter Lagrangian in the action of the Brans-Dicke Chameleon theory and potential $V(ϕ)$ for different epochs of the cosmic evolution. We plot the functions $a(t)$, $ϕ(t)$, $f(t)$ and $V(ϕ)$ for different values of the Brans-Dicke parameter. In our models, there is no accelerating solution, only decelerating one with $q>0$. The physical cosmological distances have been investigated carefully. Further the statefinder parameters pair and deceleration parameter are discussed.

Noether Symmetry Approach in f(R) Tachyon Model

In this Letter by utilizing the Noether symmetry approach in cosmology, we attempt to find the tachyon potential via the application of this kind of symmetry to a flat Friedmann-Robertson-Walker (FRW) metric. We reduce the system of equations to simpler ones and obtain the general class of the tachyon's potential function and $f(R)$ functions. We have found that the Noether symmetric model results in a power law $f(R)$ and an inverse fourth power potential for the tachyonic field. Further we investigate numerically the cosmological evolution of our model and show explicitly the behavior of the equation of state crossing the cosmological constant boundary.

Notes on dark energy interacting with dark matter and unparticle in loop quantum cosmology

We investigate the behavior of dark energy interacting with dark matter and unparticle in the framework of loop quantum cosmology. In four toy models, we study the interaction between the cosmic components by choosing different coupling functions representing the interaction. We found that there are only two attractor solutions namely dark energy dominated and dark matter dominated Universe. The other two models are unstable, as they predict either a dark energy filled Universe or one completely devoid of it.

Time varying gravitational constant G via the entropic force

If the uncertainty principle applies to the Verlinde entropic idea, it leads to a new term in the Newton's second law of mechanics in the Planck's scale. This curious velocity dependence term inspires a frictional feature of the gravity. In this short letter we address that this new term modifies the effective mass and the Newtonian constant as the time dependence quantities. Thus we must have a running on the value of the effective mass on the particle mass $m$ near the holographic screen and the $G$. This result has a nigh relation with the Dirac hypothesis about the large numbers hypothesis (L.N.H.) [1]. We propose that the corrected entropic terms via Verlinde idea can be brought as a holographic evidence for the authenticity of the Dirac idea.

Caustic singularity in Ho$\check {\textbf{r}}$ava-Lifshitz gravity

In this note we searched for a family of solutions with Caustic singularity in non relativistic-renormalizable Ho$\check {\textbf{r}}$ava-Lifshitz (HL)theory without the general covariant. We show that in infrared (IR) limit and with a deviation from $λ=1$ we have no caustic singularity. Also in ultraviolet (UV) regime and for Ricci flat 3-dimensional (3d) spaces and codimension 1 and for $λ\neq1$ the non linear terms should help bouncing this kind of most dangerous would be caustics. But if 3d curvature does not vanish, higher curvature terms do help caustics even in codimension one. Thus the arguments in [JCAP 0909:005,2009] are satisfied correctly.

Stochastic motion of test particle implies that G varies with time

The aim of this letter is to propose a new description to the time varying gravitational constant problem, which naturally implements the Dirac's large numbers hypothesis in a new proposed holographic scenario for the origin of gravity as an entropic force. We survey the effect of the Stochastic motion of the test particle in Verlinde's scenario for gravity\cite{Verlinde}. Firstly we show that we must get the equipartition values for $t\rightarrow\infty$ which leads to the usual Newtonian gravitational constant. Secondly, the stochastic (Brownian) essence of the motion of the test particle, modifies the Newton's 2'nd law. The direct result is that the Newtonian constant has been time dependence in resemblance as \cite{Running}.
