Multi-objective optimization and quantum hybridization of equivariant deep learning interatomic potentials

Allegro is a machine learning interatomic potential model designed to predict atomic properties in molecules using E(3) equivariant neural networks. When training this model, there tends to be a trade-off between accuracy and inference time. For this reason, we apply multi-objective hyperparameter optimization to both objectives. Additionally, we experiment with modified architectures by constructing variants of Allegro: one extended with additional classical layers and one incorporating quantum-classical hybrid layers. We evaluate all models on QM9, rMD17-aspirin, rMD17-benzene, and a self-generated dataset of copper-lithium structures. As results, both variants surpass Allegro in force prediction accuracy across multiple datasets. The classical variant consistently improves over the baseline, while the quantum-classical hybrid variant achieves the best overall force prediction accuracy on the Cu-Li dataset, where it was fully optimized, outperforming the classical variant by approximately 13%. Notably, the hybrid variant also achieves competitive results on the remaining datasets despite using hyperparameters transferred from Cu-Li without dataset-specific optimization, suggesting that quantum-classical hybridization is a promising direction for enhancing MLIP architectures.

The electron-phonon relaxation time in thin superconducting titanium nitride films

We report on the direct measurement of the electron-phonon relaxation time, τeph, in disordered TiN films. Measured values of τeph are from 5.5 ns to 88 ns in the 4.2 to 1.7 K temperature range and consistent with a T-3 temperature dependence. The electronic density of states at the Fermi level N0 is estimated from measured material parameters. The presented results confirm that thin TiN films are promising candidate-materials for ultrasensitive superconducting detectors.

Comparison of Radiation Damage in Lead Tungstate Crystals under Pion and Gamma Irradiation

Studies of the radiation hardness of lead tungstate crystals produced by the Bogoroditsk Techno-Chemical Plant in Russia and the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics in China have been carried out at IHEP, Protvino. The crystals were irradiated by a 40-GeV pion beam. After full recovery, the same crystals were irradiated using a $^{137}Cs$ $γ$-ray source. The dose rate profiles along the crystal length were observed to be quite similar. We compare the effects of the two types of radiation on the crystals light output.

Single-Spin Asymmetry in Inclusive $π^0$ Production Measured at the Protvino 70 GeV Accelerator

Single Spin Asymmetries (SSA) $A_N$ measured in the two reactions at the Protvino 70 GeV accelerator are presented. $A_N$ in the reaction $p+p(pol)->π^0+X$ in the central region is close to zero within the error bars. SSA in the reaction $π^- +p(pol)->π^0+X$ in the polarized target fragmentation region is equal to $(-15 \pm 4)%$ at $|x_F|>0.4$. There is an indication that the asymmetry arises at the same pion energy in the center of mass system.

Recent Results from Protvino Polarized Experiment Proza-M

Single Spin Asymmetry $A_N$ (SSA) was measured at the Protvino 70 GeV accelerator. Asymmetry in the reaction $\ppdup$ is close to zero within error bars at small $|\xf|$ and $p_T<1.5$ GeV/c. SSA in the reaction $\pimp$ at polarized target fragmentation region equals to $(-13.8 \pm 3.8)%$ at $|x_f|>0.4$. There is an indication that the asymmetry begins to rise up at the same centre of mass system pion energy.

Precision Measurement of Energy and Position Resolutions of the BTeV Electromagnetic Calorimeter Prototype

The energy dependence of the energy and position resolutions of the electromagnetic calorimeter prototype made of lead tungstate crystals produced in Bogoroditsk (Russia) and Shanghai (China) is presented. These measurementswere carried out at the Protvino accelerator using a 1 to 45 GeV electron beam. The crystals were coupled to photomultiplier tubes. The dependence of energy and position resolutions on different factors as well as the measured electromagnetic shower lateral profile are presented.

Study of Radiation Damage in Lead Tungstate Crystals Using Intense High Energy Beams

We report on the effects of radiation on the light output of lead tungstate crystals. The crystals were irradiated by pure, intense high energy electron and hadron beams as well as by a mixture of hadrons, neutrons and gammas. The crystals were manufactured in Bogoroditsk, Apatity (both Russia), and Shanghai (China). These studies were carried out at the 70-GeV proton accelerator in Protvino.
