Pseudo-Hermitian systems, involutive symmetries and pseudofermions

We have briefly analyzed the existence of the pseudofermionic structure of multilevel pseudo-Hermitian systems with odd time-reversal and higher order involutive symmetries. We have shown that 2N-level Hamiltonians with N-order eigenvalue degeneracy can be represented in the oscillator-like form in terms of pseudofermionic creation and annihilation operators for both real and complex eigenvalues. The example of most general four-level traceless Hamiltonian with odd time-reversal symmetry, which is an extension of the SO(5) Hermitian Hamiltonian, is considered in greater and explicit detail.

Method of Linear Invariants for description of beam dynamics of FEL undulator

We propose a new model for description of electrons beam dynamics in Free Electron Laser (FEL) undulator, based on the method of linear time-dependent invariants of quantum-mechanical charge particle. The magnetic field has periodic structure along the undulator. For this problem, described by time-dependent quadratic Hamiltonian, we obtain exact solution. The time-evolutions of the tree quantum fluctuations: covariance cov(q,p), var(q) and var(p) for the charge particle in this case are also determined. This research will help to optimize the FEL undulator: for example, using a 2.5 GeV linear electron accelerator it will be possible to emit radiation at 1.5 nm and shorter length. This method could be applicable also to any device with periodic structure of applied field (e.g. Tokamak, cyclic accelerators) for the case of charge non-relativistic quantum particles.

How to Describe Photons as (3+1)-Solitons?

This paper aims to present the pure field part of the newly developed nonlinear {\it Extended Electrodynamics} [1]-[3] in non-relativistic terms, i.e. in terms of the electric and magnetic vector fields (${\mathbf E},{\mathbf B}$), and to give explicitly those (3+1)-soliton solutions of the new equations which have the integral properties of photons. The set of solutions to the new equations contains all solutions to Maxwell's equations as a subclass, as well as, new solutions, called nonlinear. The important characteristics {\it scale factor}, {\it amplitude function}, and {\it phase function} of a nonlinear solution are defined in a coordinate free way and effectively used. The nonlinear solutions are identified through the non-zero values of two appropriately defined vector fields $\vec{\cal F}$ and $\vec{\cal M}$, as well as, through the finite values of the corresponding scale factors. The intrinsic angular momentum (spin) is also defined. A limited superposition principle (interference of nonlinear solutions), yielding the well known classical {\it coherence} conditions, is found to exist.
