Soliton Resonances in Four Dimensional Wess-Zumino-Witten Model

We present two kinds of resonance soliton solutions on the Ultrahyperbolic space $\mathbb{U}$ for the G=U(2) Yang equation, which is equivalent to the anti-self-dual Yang-Mills (ASDYM) equation. We reveal and illustrate the solitonic behaviors in the four-dimensional Wess-Zumino-Witten (WZW$_4$) model through the sigma model action densities. The Yang equation is the equation of motion of the WZW$_4$ model. In the case of $\mathbb{U}$, the WZW$_4$ model describes a string field theory action of open N=2 string theories. Hence, our solutions on $\mathbb{U}$ suggest the existence of the corresponding classical objects in the N=2 string theories. Our solutions include multiple-pole solutions and V-shape soliton solutions. The V-shape solitons suggest annihilation and creation processes of two solitons and would be building blocks to classify the ASDYM solitons, like the role of Y-shape solitons in classification of the KP (line) solitons. We also clarify the relationship between the Cauchy matrix approach and the binary Darboux transformation in terms of quasideterminants. Our formalism can start with a simpler input data for the soliton solutions and hence might give a suitable framework for the classification of the ASDYM solitons.

On the Fourth-Order Lattice Gel'fand-Dikii Equations

The fourth-order lattice Gel'fand-Dikii equations in quadrilateral form are investigated. Utilizing the direct linearization approach, we present some equations of the extended lattice Gel'fand-Dikii type. These equations are related to a quartic discrete dispersion relation and can be viewed as higher-order members of the extended lattice Boussinesq type equations. The resulting lattice equations given here are in five-component form, and some of them are multi-dimensionally consistent by introducing extra equations. Lax integrability is discussed both by direct linearization scheme and also through multi-dimensional consistent property. Some reductions of the five-component lattice equations to the four-component forms are considered.

A Revisit to the ABS H2 Equation

In this paper we revisit the Adler-Bobenko-Suris H2 equation. The H2 equation is linearly related to the $S^{(0,0)}$ and $S^{(1,0)}$ variables in the Cauchy matrix scheme. We elaborate the coupled quad-system of $S^{(0,0)}$ and $S^{(1,0)}$ in terms of their 3-dimensional consistency, Lax pair, bilinear form and continuum limits. It is shown that $S^{(1,0)}$ itself satisfies a 9-point lattice equation and in continuum limit $S^{(1,0)}$ is related to the eigenfunction in the Lax pair of the Korteweg-de Vries equation.

Multi-Component Extension of CAC Systems

In this paper an approach to generate multi-dimensionally consistent $N$-component systems is proposed. The approach starts from scalar multi-dimensionally consistent quadrilateral systems and makes use of the cyclic group. The obtained $N$-component systems inherit integrable features such as Bäcklund transformations and Lax pairs, and exhibit interesting aspects, such as nonlocal reductions. Higher order single component lattice equations (on larger stencils) and multi-component discrete Painlevé equations can also be derived in the context, and the approach extends to $N$-component generalizations of higher dimensional lattice equations.

Rational Solutions to the ABS List: Transformation Approach

In the paper we derive rational solutions for the lattice potential modified Korteweg-de Vries equation, and Q2, Q1($δ$), H3($δ$), H2 and H1 in the Adler-Bobenko-Suris list. Bäcklund transformations between these lattice equations are used. All these rational solutions are related to a unified $τ$ function in Casoratian form which obeys a bilinear superposition formula.
