GUP and Point Interaction

The non-relativistic quantum mechanics with the generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) is examined when the potential is one-dimensional $δ-$function. It is shown that unlike usual quantum mechanics, the Schrödinger and Feynman's path-integral approaches are inequivalent at the first order of GUP parameter.

Dynamics of Entanglement in Three Coupled Harmonic Oscillator System with Arbitrary Time-Dependent Frequency and Coupling Constants

The dynamics of mixedness and entanglement is examined by solving the time-dependent Schrödinger equation for three coupled harmonic oscillator system with arbitrary time-dependent frequency and coupling constants parameters. We assume that part of oscillators is inaccessible and remaining oscillators accessible. We compute the dynamics of entanglement between inaccessible and accessible oscillators. In order to show the dynamics pictorially we introduce three quenched models. In the quenched models both mixedness and entanglement exhibit oscillatory behavior in time with multi-frequencies. It is shown that the mixedness for the case of one inaccessible oscillator is larger than that for the case of two inaccessible oscillators in the most time interval. Contrary to the mixedness entanglement for the case of one inaccessible oscillator is smaller than that for the case of two inaccessible oscillators in the most time interval.

Thermal Entanglement and Thermal Discord in two-qubit Heisenberg XYZ Chain with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya Interactions

In order to explore the effect of external temperature $T$ in quantum correlation we compute thermal entanglement and thermal discord analytically in the Heisenberg $X$ $Y$ $Z$ model with Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya Interaction term ${\bm D} \cdot \left( {\bm σ}_1 \times {\bm σ}_2 \right)$. For the case of thermal entanglement it is shown that quantum phase transition occurs at $T = T_c$ due to sudden death phenomenon. For antiferromagnetic case the critical temperature $T_c$ increases with increasing $|{\bm D}|$. For ferromagnetic case, however, $T_c$ exhibits different behavior in the regions $|{\bm D}| \geq |{\bm D_*}|$ and $|{\bm D}| < |{\bm D_*}|$, where ${\bm D_*}$ is particular value of ${\bm D}$. It is shown that $T_c$ becomes zero at $|{\bm D}| = |{\bm D_*}|$. We explore the behavior of thermal discord in detail at $T \approx T_c$. For antiferromagnetic case the external temperature makes the thermal discord exhibit exponential damping behavior, but it never reaches to exact zero. For ferromagnetic case the thermal entanglement and thermal discord are shown to be zero simultaneously at $T_c = 0$ and $|{\bm D}| = |{\bm D_*}|$. This is unique condition for simultaneous disappearance of thermal entanglement and thermal discord in this model.

Dynamics of Entanglement and Uncertainty relation in Coupled Harmonic Oscillator System : Exact Results

The dynamics of entanglement and uncertainty relation is explored by solving the time-dependent Schrödinger equation for coupled harmonic oscillator system analytically when the angular frequencies and coupling constant are arbitrarily time-dependent. We derive the spectral and Schmidt decompositions for vacuum solution. Using the decompositions we derive the analytical expressions for von Neumann and Rényi entropies. Making use of Wigner distribution function defined in phase space, we derive the time-dependence of position-momentum uncertainty relations. In order to show the dynamics of entanglement and uncertainty relation graphically we introduce two toy models and one realistic quenched model. While the dynamics can be conjectured by simple consideration in the toy models, the dynamics in the realistic quenched model is somewhat different from that in the toy models. In particular, the dynamics of entanglement exhibits similar pattern to dynamics of uncertainty parameter in the realistic quenched model.

Four-Qubit Monogamy and Four-Way Entanglement

We examine the various properties of the three four-qubit monogamy relations, all of which introduce the power factors in the three-way entanglement to reduce the tripartite contributions. On the analytic ground as much as possible we try to find the minimal power factors, which make the monogamy relations hold if the power factors are larger than the minimal powers. Motivated to the three-qubit monogamy inequality we also examine whether those four-qubit monogamy relations provide the SLOCC-invariant four-way entanglement measures or not. Our analysis indicate that this is impossible provided that the monogamy inequalities are derived merely by introducing weighting power factors.

Non-Markovianity and coherence of a moving qubit inside a leaky cavity

Non-Markovian features of a system evolution, stemming from memory effects, may be utilized to transfer, storage, and revive basic quantum properties of the system states. It is well known that an atom qubit undergoes non-Markovian dynamics in high quality cavities. We here consider the qubit-cavity interaction in the case when the qubit is in motion inside a leaky cavity. We show that, owing to the inhibition of the decay rate, the coherence of the traveling qubit remains closer to its initial value as time goes by compared to that of a qubit at rest. We also demonstrate that quantum coherence is preserved more efficiently for larger qubit velocities. This is true independently of the evolution being Markovian or non-Markovian, albeit the latter condition is more effective at a given value of velocity. We however find that the degree of non-Markovianity is eventually weakened as the qubit velocity increases, despite a better coherence maintenance.

Protection of Entanglement in the presence of Markovian or Non-Markovian Environment via particle velocity : Exact Results

On the analytic ground we examine a physical mechanism how particle velocity can protect an entanglement when quantum system is embedded in Markovian or non-Markovian environment. In particular the effect of particle velocity is examined in the entanglement sudden death (ESD) and revival of entanglement (ROE) phenomena. Even though particles move fast, the ESD phenomenon does not disappear if it occurs at zero velocity. However the time domain $0 \leq t \leq t_*$ for nonvanishing entanglement becomes larger and larger with increasing velocity. When ROE phenomenon occurs at zero velocity, even small velocity can make this phenomenon not to occur although the oscillatory behavior of entanglement in time is maintained. For comparatively large velocity the amplitude of the oscillatory behavior becomes extremely small. In this way the entanglement can be protected by particle velocity. The protection of entanglement via velocity is compared with that via the detuning parameter.

Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger Symmetry in Four Qubit System

Like a three-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger(GHZ) symmetry we explore a corresponding symmetry in the four-qubit system, which we call GHZ$_4$ symmetry. While whole GHZ-symmetric states can be represented by two real parameters, the whole set of the GHZ$_4$-symmetric states is represented by three real parameters. In the parameter space all GHZ$_4$-symmetric states reside inside a tetrahedron. We also explore a question where the given SLOCC class of the GHZ$_4$-symmetric states resides in the tetrahedron. Among nine SLOCC classes we have examined five SLOCC classes, which results in three linear hierarchies $L_{abc_2} \subset L_{a_4} \subset L_{a_2b_2} \subset G_{abcd}$, $L_{a_20_{3\oplus\bar{1}}} \subset G_{abcd}$, and $L_{0_{3\oplus\bar{1}}0_{3\oplus\bar{1}}} \subset G_{abcd}$ which hold, at least, in the whole set of the GHZ$_4$-symmetric states. Difficulties arising in the analysis of the remaining SLOCC classes are briefly discussed.

Testing the Monogamy Relations via Rank-2 Mixtures

We introduce two tangle-based four-party entanglement measures $t_1$ and $t_2$, and two negativity-based measures $n_1$ and $n_2$, which are derived from the monogamy relations. These measures are computed for three four-qubit maximally entangled and W states explicitly. We also compute these measures for the rank-$2$ mixture $ρ_4 = p \ket{\mbox{GHZ}_4} \bra{\mbox{GHZ}_4} + (1 - p) \ket{\mbox{W}_4} \bra{\mbox{W}_4}$ by finding the corresponding optimal decompositions. It turns out that $t_1 (ρ_4)$ is trivial and the corresponding optimal decomposition is equal to the spectral decomposition. Probably, this triviality is a sign of the fact that the corresponding monogamy inequality is not sufficiently tight. We fail to compute $t_2 (ρ_4)$ due to the difficulty for the calculation of the residual entanglement. The negativity-based measures $n_1 (ρ_4)$ and $n_2 (ρ_4)$ are explicitly computed and the corresponding optimal decompositions are also derived explicitly.

Mixedness and Entanglement in the presence of Localized Closed Timelike Curves

We examine mixedness and entanglement of the chronology-respecting (CR) system with assuming that quantum mechanical closed timelike curves (CTCs) exist in nature and by introducing the qubit system and applying the general controlled operations between CR and CTC systems. We use the magnitude of Bloch vector as a measure of mixedness. While Deutschian-CTC (D-CTC) either preserves or decreases the magnitude, postselected-CTC (P-CTC) can increases it. Nonintuitively, even the completely mixed CR-qubit can be converted into a pure state after CTC-qubit travels around the P-CTC. It is also shown that while D-CTC cannot increase the entanglement of CR system, P-CTC can increase it. Surprisingly, any partially entangled state can be maximally entangled pure state if P-CTC exists. Thus, distillation of P-CTC-assisted entanglement can be easily achieved without preparing the multiple copies of the partially entangled state.

Tripartite Entanglement Dynamics in the presence of Non-Markovian Environment

We study on the tripartite entanglement dynamics when each party is initially entangled with other parties, but they locally interact with their own non-Markovian environment. First, we consider three GHZ-type initial states, all of which have GHZ symmetry provided that the parameters are chosen appropriately. However, this symmetry is broken due to the effect of environment. The corresponding $π$-tangles, one of the tripartite entanglement measure, are analytically computed at arbitrary time. The revival phenomenon of entanglement occurs after complete disappearance of entanglement. We also consider two W-type initial states. The revival phenomenon also occurs in this case. On the analytical ground the robustness issue against the effect of environment is examined for both GHZ-type and W-type initial states.

Entanglement of Four-Qubit Rank-$2$ Mixed States

It is known that there are three maximally entangled states $\ket{Φ_1} = (\ket{0000} + \ket{1111}) / \sqrt{2}$, $\ket{Φ_2} = (\sqrt{2} \ket{1111} + \ket{1000} + \ket{0100} + \ket{0010} + \ket{0001}) / \sqrt{6}$, and $\ket{Φ_3} = (\ket{1111} + \ket{1100} + \ket{0010} + \ket{0001}) / 2$ in four-qubit system. It is also known that there are three independent measures ${\cal F}^{(4)}_j \hspace{.2cm} (j=1,2,3)$ for true four-way quantum entanglement in the same system. In this paper we compute ${\cal F}^{(4)}_j$ and their corresponding linear monotones ${\cal G}^{(4)}_j$ for three rank-two mixed states $ρ_j = p \ket{Φ_j}\bra{Φ_j} + (1 - p) \ket{\mbox{W}_4} \bra{\mbox{W}_4}$, where $\ket{\mbox{W}_4} = (\ket{0111} + \ket{1011} + \ket{1101} + \ket{1110}) / 2$. We discuss the possible applications of our results briefly.

REE From EOF

It is well-known that entanglement of formation (EOF) and relative entropy of entanglement (REE) are exactly identical for all two-qubit pure states even though their definitions are completely different. We think this fact implies that there is a veiled connection between EOF and REE. In this context, we suggest a procedure, which enables us to compute REE from EOF without relying on the converse procedure. It is shown that the procedure yields correct REE for many symmetric mixed states such as Bell-diagonal, generalized Vedral-Plenino, and generalized Horodecki states. It also gives a correct REE for less symmetric Vedral-Plenio-type state. However, it is shown that the procedure does not provide correct REE for arbitrary mixed states.

Entanglement Classification of Restricted Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger Symmetric States in Four-Qubit System

Similar to the three-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) symmetry we explore the four-qubit GHZ symmetry group and its subgroup called restricted GHZ symmetry group. While the set of symmetric states under the whole group transformation is represented by three real parameters, the set of symmetric states under the subgroup transformation is represented by two real parameters. After comparing the symmetric states for whole and subgroup, the entanglement is examined for the latter set. It is shown that the set has only two SLOCC classes, $L_{abc_2}$ and $G_{abcd}$. Extension to the multi-qubit system is briefly discussed.

Entanglement Classification of extended Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger-Symmetric States

In this paper we analyze entanglement classification of extended Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger-symmetric states $ρ^{ES}$, which is parametrized by four real parameters $x$, $y_1$, $y_2$ and $y_3$. The condition for separable states of $ρ^{ES}$ is analytically derived. The higher classes such as bi-separable, W, and Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger classes are roughly classified by making use of the class-specific optimal witnesses or map from the extended Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger symmetry to the Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger symmetry. From this analysis we guess that the entanglement classes of $ρ^{ES}$ are not dependent on $y_j \hspace{.2cm} (j=1,2,3)$ individually, but dependent on $y_1 + y_2 + y_3$ collectively. The difficulty arising in extension of analysis with Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger symmetry to the higher-qubit system is discussed.
