Progress towards a nonintegrality conjecture

Given $r \in \mathbb{N}$, define the function $S_{r}: \mathbb{N} \rightarrow \mathbb{Q}$ by $S_{r}(n)=\displaystyle \sum_{k=0}^{n} \frac{k}{k+r} \binom{n}{k}$. In $2015$, the second author conjectured that there are infinitely many $r \in \mathbb{N}$ such that $S_{r}(n)$ is nonintegral for all $n \geq 1$, and proved that $S_{r}(n)$ is not an integer for $r \in \{2,3,4\}$ and for all $n \geq 1$. In $2016$, Florian Luca and the second author raised the stronger conjecture that for any $r \geq 1$, $S_{r}(n)$ is nonintegral for all $n \geq 1$. They proved that $S_{r}(n)$ is nonintegral for $r \in \{5,6\}$ and that $S_{r}(n)$ is not an integer for any $r \geq 2$ and $1 \leq n \leq r-1$. In particular, for all $r \geq 2$, $S_{r}(n)$ is nonintegral for at least $r-1$ values of $n$. In $2018$, the fourth author gave sufficient conditions for the nonintegrality of $S_{r}(n)$ for all $n \geq 1$, and derived an algorithm to sometimes determine such nonintegrality; along the way he proved that $S_{r}(n)$ is nonintegral for $r \in \{7,8,9,10\}$ and for all $n \geq 1$. By improving this algorithm we prove the conjecture for $r\le 22$. Our principal result is that $S_r(n)$ is usually nonintegral in that the upper asymptotic density of the set of integers $n$ with $S_r(n)$ integral decays faster than any fixed power of $r^{-1}$ as $r$ grows.

Potentials for some tensor algebras

This paper generalizes former works of Derksen, Weyman and Zelevinsky about quivers with potentials. We consider semisimple finite-dimensional algebras $E$ over a field $F$, such that $E \otimes_{F} E^{op}$ is semisimple. We assume that $E$ contains a certain type of $F$-basis which is a generalization of a multiplicative basis. We study potentials belonging to the algebra of formal power series, with coefficients in the tensor algebra over $E$, of any finite-dimensional $E$-$E$-bimodule on which $F$ acts centrally. In this case, we introduce a cyclic derivative and to each potential we associate a Jacobian ideal. Finally, we develop a mutation theory of potentials, which in the case that the bimodule is $Z$-free, it behaves as the quiver case; but allows us to obtain realizations of a certain class of skew-symmetrizable integer matrices.

Fixed points of automorphisms of certain non-cyclic $p$-groups and the dihedral group

Let $G=\mathbf{Z}_{p} \oplus \mathbf{Z}_{p^2}$, where $p$ is a prime number. Suppose that $d$ is a divisor of the order of $G$. In this paper we find the number of automorphisms of $G$ fixing $d$ elements of $G$, and denote it by $θ(G,d)$. As a consequence, we prove a conjecture of Checco-Darling-Longfield-Wisdom. We also find the exact number of fixed-point-free automorphisms of the group $\mathbf{Z}_{p^{a}} \oplus \mathbf{Z}_{p^{b}}$, where $a$ and $b$ are positive integers with $a<b$. Finally, we compute $θ(D_{2q},d)$, where $D_{2q}$ is the dihedral group of order $2q$, $q$ is an odd prime and $d \in \{1,q,2q\}$.

Cyclic derivations, species realizations and potentials

In this survey paper we give an overview of a generalization, introduced by R. Bautista and the author, of the theory of mutation of quivers with potential developed in 2007 by Derksen-Weyman-Zelevinsky. This new construction allows us to consider finite dimensional semisimple $F$-algebras, where $F$ is any field. We give a brief account of the results concerning this generalization and its main consequences.

A note on species realizations and nondegeneracy of potentials

In this note we show that a mutation theory of species with potential can be defined so that a certain class of skew-symmetrizable integer matrices have a species realization admitting a non-degenerate potential. This gives a partial affirmative answer to a question raised by Jan Geuenich and Daniel Labardini-Fragoso. We also provide an example of a class of skew-symmetrizable $4 \times 4$ integer matrices, which are not globally unfoldable nor strongly primitive, and that have a species realization admitting a non-degenerate potential.

Antiautomorphisms and biantiautomorphisms of some finite abelian groups

We extend the concepts of antimorphism and antiautomorphism of the additive group of integers modulo $n$, given by Gaitanas Konstantinos, to abelian groups. We give a lower bound for the number of antiautomorphisms of cyclic groups of odd order and give an exact formula for the number of linear antiautomorphisms of cyclic groups of odd order. Finally, we give a partial classification of the finite abelian groups which admit antiautomorphisms and state some open questions.

Tensor algebras and decorated representations

In arXiv:1506.05880 we gave a generalization of the theory of quivers with potentials introduced by Derksen-Weyman-Zelevinsky, via completed tensor algebras over $S$-bimodules where $S$ is a finite dimensional basic semisimple algebra. In this paper we show how to extend this construction to the level of decorated representations and we prove that mutation of decorated representations is an involution. Moreover, we prove that there exists a nearly Morita equivalence between the Jacobian algebras which are related via mutation. This generalizes the construction given by Buan-Iyama-Reiten-Smith.

Ziegler Spectrum and Krull Gabriel Dimension

These notes are based on a talk given at the Summer School "Infinite-dimensional representations of finite-dimensional algebras" held at the University of Manchester in September 2015. They intend to provide a brief introduction to the notion of Ziegler Spectrum and Krull-Gabriel dimension.
