Superstring entanglement at finite temperature and its Hagedorn behavior

This work demonstrates that a superstring extended density matrix can be defined at finite temperature. This enables the calculation of the extended entanglement entropy between string coordinates. Using a real-time approach, the entanglement entropy is expressed in terms of modular functions, whose proprieties are then used to study Hagedorn behavior.

On the Hagedorn behavior of the superstring propating in a cosmological time dependent background

In this work the LvN quantization of the type IIB superstring is carried on in a time dependent plane wave background with a constant self-dual Ramond-Ramond 5-form and a linear dilaton in the light-like direction. Such an endeavour allows us to define an invariant density matrix and study important issues in real time string thermodynamics. In particular, the Hagendorn temperature is calculated as function of the thermalization time.

Left/right entanglement and thermalization of time dependent plane wave Green-Schwarz superstring

In this work we study new issues involving the type IIB superstring in a time dependent plane wave background with a constant self-dual Ramond-Ramond 5-form and a linear dilaton in the light-like direction. We construct a unitary Bogoliubov generator which relates the asymptotically flat superstring Hilbert space to the finite time Hilbert space. The time dependent vacuum is a superposition of $SU(1, 1)\times SU(2)$ coherent states, which has a particular structure of excitation, characterized by a condensation of right and left moving supertring modes. We calculate the time dependent left/right entanglement entropy and carry out the summation over the oscillator modes of the superstring two-point function. We show that, close to the null singularity, the entanglement entropy is well-behaved. In particular, for asymptotically flat observers, the closed superstring vacuum close to the singularity appears as superstring thermal vacuum, which is unitarily inequivalent to the asymptotically flat vacuum. Actually, we show that close to the singularity the superstring thermalizes and the entanglement entropy becomes a thermodynamical entropy for a supersymmetric two-dimensional gas.

Entanglement from Dissipation and Holographic Interpretation

In this work we study a dissipative field theory where the dissipation process is manifestly related to dynamical entanglement and put it in the holographic context. Such endeavour is realized by further development of a canonical approach to study quantum dissipation, which consists of doubling the degrees of freedom of the original system by defining an auxiliary one. A time dependent entanglement entropy for the vacumm state is calculated and a geometrical interpretation of the auxiliary system and the entropy is given in the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence using the Ryu-Takayanagi formula. We show that the dissipative dynamics is controlled by the entanglement entropy and there are two distinct stages: in the early times the holographic interpretation requires some deviation from classical General Relativity; in the later times the quantum system is described as a wormhole, a solution of the Einstein's equations near to a maximally extended black hole with two asymptotically AdS boundaries. We focus our holographic analysis in this regime, and suggest a mechanism similar to teleportation protocol to exchange (quantum) information between the two CFTs on the boundaries (see [28]).

Quantum corrections to $AdS_5 \times S^5$ left-invariant superstring current algebra

In this work the pure spinor formulation of the superstring is used to study quantum corrections to the left current OPE algebra of the coset $PSU(2, 2|4)/SO(4, 1) \times SO(5)$ sigma model, which describes the superstring dynamics in the $AdS_5 \times S^5$ background. In particular, the one loop corrections to the simple poles of the bosonic currents are computed. Unlike the case of the double poles, we show that the simple poles suffer corrections, which are important since the simple poles contribute to the four point amplitudes. We show that the only contribution to the simple poles comes from the pure spinor Lorentz currents.

String in AdS Black Hole: A Thermo Field Dynamic Approach

Based on Maldacena's description of an eternal AdS-black hole, we reassess the Thermo Field Dynamics (TFD) formalism in the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence. The model studied here involves the maximally extended AdS-Schwarschild solution and two (non-interacting) copies of the CFT associated to the global AdS spacetime, along with an extension of the string by imposing natural gluing conditions in the horizon. We show that the gluing conditions in the horizon define a string boundary state which is identified with the TFD thermal vacuum, globally defined in the Kruskal extension of the AdS black hole. We emphasize the connection of this picture with unitary SU(1,1) TFD formulation and we show that information about the bulk and the conformal boundary is present in the SU(1,1) parameters. Using the unitary SU(1,1) TFD formulation, a canonical prescription for calculating the worldsheet real time thermal Green's function is made and the entropy associated with the entanglement of the two CFT's is calculated.
