Two-loop neutrino mass model with modular $S_4$ symmetry

We propose a two-loop radiative neutrino mass model based on the modular $Γ_4 \simeq S_4$ flavour symmetry supplemented by a discrete $Z_3$ symmetry. After spontaneous modular symmetry breaking, a remnant $Z_2$ symmetry guarantees both the radiative origin of active neutrino masses and stabilizes dark matter candidates. The model successfully reproduces charged lepton masses and neutrino oscillation data for normal ordering. It also predicts observable rates for charged lepton flavour violation (LFV). Due to the singlet-doublet mixing the model provides a viable scalar dark matter candidate. A fermionic dark matter candidate, strongly linked to LFV, is also present. We identify parameter regions consistent with relic density, LFV constraints, and direct detection limits, providing testable benchmark configurations.

New formula for Asymptotic behavior of the Synchrotron function

Synchrotron radiation plays a central role in astrophysical and high-energy processes. Its spectral description involves the synchrotron function, defined by a non-trivial integral of modified Bessel functions and commonly evaluated through numerical methods or dedicated approximations. In this work, we obtain a compact analytical representation of the synchrotron function using the Method of Brackets, which yields systematically controllable asymptotic expansions in both the small- and large-argument regimes. The resulting expressions accurately reproduce numerical integration and make the analytic structure of the function explicit. Our results provide an efficient alternative to repeated numerical evaluations and facilitate applications requiring fast and controlled approximations.

Strongly coupled inert scalar sector with radiative neutrino masses

We explore the phenomenological consequences of a model with an extended scalar sector, incorporating strongly coupled inert Higgs doublets. The model introduces three Higgs doublets: one that interacts with the $SU(2)$ symmetry of the Standard Model, and two inert doublets belonging to a strongly interacting sector, embedded in the $SU(2)_2 \times SU(2)_1 \times U(1)_Y$ electroweak gauge symmetry. This symmetry structure is further supplemented by a spontaneously broken $\mathbb{Z}_2$ and a preserved $\mathbb{Z}_2'$ discrete symmetry. Our approach harnesses the exotic scalar fields emerging from this sector to implement mass-generation mechanisms. In particular, a one-loop seesaw mechanism accounts for the smallness of neutrino masses, while a universal seesaw mechanism naturally explains the hierarchy of charged fermion masses below the top quark mass. The model is shown to be consistent with current experimental constraints, including those from charged lepton flavor violation, electroweak precision observables, the Higgs diphoton decay rate, and the Higgs trilinear self-coupling. Notably, it also provides a viable interpretation of the 95~GeV diphoton excess, offering a distinctive signature of new physics beyond the Standard Model.

Fermion masses and mixings and charged lepton flavor violation in a 3-3-1 model with inverse seesaw

We present a extension of the 3-3-1 gauge model supplemented by an $A_4$ flavor symmetry and cyclic discrete symmetries, including $Z_2$, $Z_2'$, $Z_3$, $Z_4$, $Z_7$ and $Z_{10}$. The model successfully reproduces the observed SM fermion mass hierarchies and mixing patterns in quark and lepton sectors. The smallness of the active neutrino masses is explained through an inverse seesaw mechanism, enabled by the introduction of right-handed and sterile Majorana neutrinos. In the quark sector, flavor-changing neutral currents (FCNCs) arise at tree level exclusively for up-type quarks via the new heavy neutral gauge boson exchange, leading to strong constraints from $D^0$ - $\bar{D}^0$ mixing. The charged lepton sector exhibits sizeable flavor-violating effects, especially in the $μ\rightarrow e γ$ decay, mediated by loops involving heavy neutrinos, new charged gauge bosons as well as charged scalars. We perform a detailed numerical fit of fermion masses and mixing parameters and identify viable regions of parameter space consistent with experimental data on CKM and PMNS mixing matrices. The model predicts branching ratios for charged lepton flavor violating decays and $μ$-$e$ conversion rates within the sensitivity of future experiments.

A Novel Transfer Matrix Framework for Multiple Dirac Delta Potentials

We present an analytical framework for studying quantum tunneling through multiple Dirac delta potential barriers in one dimension. Using the transfer matrix method, we derive a closed-form expression for the total transfer matrix of a system composed of $N$ equally spaced delta barriers. In a systematic manner, a compact expression is obtained for the first element of the transfer matrix, based on triangular numbers. This, in turn, allows us to compute the transmission coefficient exactly as a function of the number of barriers. The proposed method successfully reproduces well-known results for one and two barriers and efficiently captures complex interference effects for larger values of $N$, such as $N=4$.

Improvement of W Boson Hadronic Decay Width up to $\mathcal{O}\left(α_s^4 \right)$-order

The principle of maximum conformality (PMC) is used to remove uncertainties in the renormalization scale and scheme, thus eliminating unnecessary systematic errors for high-precision perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics (pQCD) predictions. In this work, we use PMC method to improve the determination of the decay width of the $W$ boson in hadrons by working on the corrections coming from pQCD theory at the four-loop level. In conventional scale setting, we find that the initial scaling dependence of the renormalization is small only at high correction orders, whereas in single-scale PMC method we obtain a scaling-independent initial result. Finally, the wide hadronic decay of $W$ is used for an indirect determination of the charm-strange mixing parameter.

Phenomenology of an Extended $1+2$ Higgs Doublet Model with $S_3$ Family Symmetry

In order to explain the mass hierarchy and mixing pattern in the leptonic sector, we explore an extension of the Standard Model whose scalar sector includes one active and two inert doublets as well as some scalar singlets. The model includes a $S_3$ family symmetry supplemented by extra cyclic symmetries. As a consequence of our construction, a Dark Matter (DM) candidate is predicted and its properties are consistent with the observed cosmic abundances and the constraints imposed by direct and indirect detection experiments. The model allows Charged Lepton Flavor Violation (CLFV) processes like $μ\rightarrow eγ$ and $μ\rightarrow 3e$, but the predicted branching ratios align with experimental limits. Additionally, our analysis elucidates the generation of the active neutrino masses through a one-loop radiative seesaw mechanism matching the observed neutrino oscillation data. The model agrees with experimental data on Higgs Diphoton decay rates and on oblique parameters.

Phenomenological aspects of the fermion and scalar sectors of a $S_4$ flavored 3-3-1 model

We proposed a viable and predictive model based on the $SU(3)_C \times SU(3)_L \times U(1)_X$ gauge symmetry, supplemented by the global $U(1)_{Lg}$ symmetry, the $S_4$ family symmetry and several auxiliary cyclic symmetries, which successfully reproduces the experimentally observed SM fermion mass and mixing pattern. The tiny active neutrino masses are generated through an inverse seesaw mechanism mediated by right-handed Majorana neutrinos. The model is consistent with the SM fermion masses and mixings and successfully accommodates the current Higgs diphoton decay rate constraints as well as the constraints arising from oblique $S$, $T$ and $U$ parameters and we studied the meson mixing due to flavor changing neutral currents mediated by heavy scalars, finding parameter space consistent with experimental constraints.

Relation between pole and running masses of heavy quarks using the principle of maximum conformality

The relation of the pole and running heavy quark masses of order $\mathcal{O}\left(α_s^4\right)$ in perturbative quantum chromodynamics (pQCD) can be obtained using the Principle of Maximum Conformality (PMC), a formalism that provides a rigorous method for eliminating renormalization scale and scheme ambiguities for observables in pQCD. Using PMC, an optimal renormalization scale for the heavy quark mass ratio is determined, independent of the renormalization scale and scheme up to order $α_s^4$. Precise values are then obtained for the PMC pole masses of the heavy quarks $M_b^{\text{PMC}}=4.86^{+0.03}_{-0.02}$ GeV, $M_t^{\text{PMC}}=172.3\pm 0.6$ GeV, and the running mass $\overline{m}_t^{\text{PMC}}=162.6\pm 0.7$ GeV at the PMC scale.

Evaluation of the second virial coefficient for the Mie potential using the method of brackets

The second virial coefficient for the Mie potential is evaluated using the method of brackets. This method converts a definite integral into a series in the parameters of the problem, in this case this is the temperature $T$. The results obtained here are consistent with some known special cases, such as the Lenard-Jones potential. The asymptotic properties of the second virial coefficient in molecular thermodynamic systems and complex fluid modeling are described in the limiting cases of $T \rightarrow 0$ and $T \rightarrow \infty$.
