LFV in SUSY Breaking with Heavy Sleptons

We discuss lepton flavor violation (LFV) in the context of SUSY breaking when the first-two generation sleptons are heavy. When the first-two generation sleptons are $\mathcal{O}(5 {\rm TeV})$ and have small mass-splittings, we find that a light third generation slepton is allowed even with the large mixing implied by neutrino oscillation experiments. As an application, we consider a gravity dual to single-sector SUSY breaking and show that it is compatible with both LFV constraints and oscillation measurements.

Fermion Flavor in Soft-Wall AdS

The formalism for modeling multiple fermion generations in a warped extra dimension with a soft-wall is presented. A bulk Higgs condensate is responsible for generating mass for the zero-mode fermions but leads to additional complexity from large mixing between different flavors. We extend existing single-generation analyses by considering new special cases in which analytical solutions can be derived and discuss flavor constraints. The general three-generation case is then treated using a simple numerical routine. Assuming anarchic 5D parameters we find a fermion mass spectrum resembling the standard model quarks and leptons with highly degenerate couplings to Kaluza-Klein gauge bosons. This confirms that the soft-wall model has similar attractive features as that found in hard-wall models, providing a framework to generalize existing phenomenological analyses.

The Soft-Wall Standard Model

We explore the possibility of modeling electroweak physics in a warped extra dimension with a soft wall. The infrared boundary is replaced with a smoothly varying dilaton field that provides a dynamical spacetime cutoff. We analyze gravity, gauge fields, and fermions in the soft-wall background and obtain a discrete spectrum of Kaluza-Klein states which can exhibit linear Regge-like behavior. Bulk Yukawa interactions give rise to nonconstant fermion mass terms, leading to fermion localization in the soft-wall background and a possible explanation of the Standard Model flavor structure. Furthermore we construct electroweak models with custodial symmetry, where the gauge symmetry is broken with a bulk Higgs condensate. The electroweak constraints are not as stringent as in hard-wall models, allowing Kaluza-Klein masses of order the TeV scale.
