EmoMed: An Emotionally-Aware Agent for Multimodal Medical Support with Real-Time Information Retrieval

We present EmoMed - a multimodal medical consultation agent that adapts its responses based on users' emotional states while maintaining clinical accuracy. The system processes text and medical images, detects affect indicators (anxiety, confusion, urgency) from user input, and adjusts response tone, structure, and detail level accordingly. To ensure factual reliability, the agent grounds clinical information through a dual retrieval mechanism: web-based fact-checking and an API-connected, continuously updated medical knowledge base. We evaluate our approach across seven state-of-the-art language models (GPT-4/5, Qwen3, Llama 4, Gemini 2.5, Grok4, Claude3) using comprehensive metrics including LLM-as-judge assessments, MedQA style accuracy tests, BERT Score, safety/helpfulness ratings, and multimodal medical benchmarks. The results demonstrate that emotionally adaptive responses consistently outperform neutral baseline across evaluation dimensions, without compromising clinical accuracy. A controlled user study validated these findings, with participants reporting improved perceived empathy and communication clarity, while maintaining trust in factual accuracy. From Monolithic to Modular: Segment-level Automatic Prompt Optimization

Automatic Prompt Optimization (APO) often rewrites prompts monolithically, which can improve one behavior while degrading others. We present SAPO, a segment-level APO method that decomposes prompts into role, context, tasks, and output format, then applies targeted improvements based on top-5 and bottom-5 examples. The optimization loop uses one LLM with static meta-prompts and structured outputs for segmentation, weakness analysis, and candidate generation. We describe a train/validation protocol and a two-stage generation process: (1) segment-level diagnosis and recommendation extraction, (2) candidate synthesis constrained by weak/strong segment signals. Using the evaluation setup across SQuADv2, TweetEval, XSUM, CommonGen, and GSM8K on GPT-3.5-Turbo and GPT-4o-mini, SAPO achieves the best average score against Zero-shot and strong APO baselines including APE, OPRO, EvoPrompt, GEPA, and StraGO.

PA-CoT: Profile-Adaptive Chain-of-Thought for Personalized Nutritional Consulting

In health and nutrition consulting, widely used prompting methods pass the user profile as an unstructured block without a dedicated analysis step, leaving personalization as a critical structural gap. We introduce PA-CoT (Profile-Adaptive Chain-of-Thought), a multi-stage prompting method that treats profile interpretation as an explicit, standalone reasoning step prior to response generation. To enable systematic evaluation, we introduce the QPA (Question--Profile--Answer) benchmark -- 200 nutritional consulting samples with structured user profiles scored on four criteria. In a comparative study against 11 comparison methods (CoT, Few-Shot, Role Prompting, DSPy, TextGrad, Self-Refine, and others, plus a Zero-Shot Baseline; 12 total including PA-CoT), PA-CoT achieves the best average score (4.21 on the G-Eval 1--5 scale) and leads on both Personalization (4.71 vs. 4.39) and Safety (4.68 vs. 4.52) with non-overlapping 95\% confidence intervals over the nearest competitor -- the only method to simultaneously top both criteria. The results confirm that an explicit profile-analysis step is the key driver of personalization gains over widely used prompting approaches.

Hierarchical AI-Meteorologist: LLM-Agent System for Multi-Scale and Explainable Weather Forecast Reporting

We present the Hierarchical AI-Meteorologist, an LLM-agent system that generates explainable weather reports using a hierarchical forecast reasoning and weather keyword generation. Unlike standard approaches that treat forecasts as flat time series, our framework performs multi-scale reasoning across hourly, 6-hour, and daily aggregations to capture both short-term dynamics and long-term trends. Its core reasoning agent converts structured meteorological inputs into coherent narratives while simultaneously extracting a few keywords effectively summarizing the dominant meteorological events. These keywords serve as semantic anchors for validating consistency, temporal coherence and factual alignment of the generated reports. Using OpenWeather and Meteostat data, we demonstrate that hierarchical context and keyword-based validation substantially improve interpretability and robustness of LLM-generated weather narratives, offering a reproducible framework for semantic evaluation of automated meteorological reporting and advancing agent-based scientific reasoning.

A Modular LLM-Agent System for Transparent Multi-Parameter Weather Interpretation

Weather forecasting is not only a predictive task but an interpretive scientific process requiring explanation, contextualization, and hypothesis generation. This paper introduces AI-Meteorologist, an explainable LLM-agent framework that converts raw numerical forecasts into scientifically grounded narrative reports with transparent reasoning steps. Unlike conventional forecast outputs presented as dense tables or unstructured time series, our system performs agent-based analysis across multiple meteorological variables, integrates historical climatological context, and generates structured explanations that identify weather fronts, anomalies, and localized dynamics. The architecture relies entirely on in-context prompting, without fine-tuning, demonstrating that interpretability can be achieved through reasoning rather than parameter updates. Through case studies on multi-location forecast data, we show how AI-Meteorologist not only communicates weather events but also reveals the underlying atmospheric drivers, offering a pathway toward AI systems that augment human meteorological expertise and support scientific discovery in climate analytics.
