A note on the definability of genus for Zariski geometries

In this work we propose a notion of genus in the context of Zariski geometries and we obtain natural generalizations of the Riemann--Hurwitz Theorem and the Hurwitz Theorem in the context of very ample Zariski geometries. As a corollary, we show that such notion of genus cannot be first-order definable in the full language of a Zariski geometry.

Pseudofiniteness and measurability of the everywhere infinite forest

In this paper we study the theories of the infinite-branching tree and the $r$-regular tree, and show that both of them are pseudofinite. Moreover, we show that they can be realized by infinite ultraproducts of polynomial exact classes of graphs, and so they are also generalised measurable.

Model-theoretic dividing lines via posets

We show that for each property $\mathsf{P}\in \{\mathsf{OP}, \mathsf{IP}, \mathsf{TP}_1, \mathsf{TP}_2, \mathsf{ATP}, \mathsf{SOP}_3\}$ there is a poset $Σ_{\mathsf{P}}$ such that a theory has property $\mathsf{P}$ if and only if some model interprets a poset in which $Σ_{\mathsf{P}}$ can be embedded. We also introduce a new property $\mathsf{SUP}$, consistent with $\mathsf{NIP}_2$ and implying $\mathsf{ATP}$ and $\mathsf{SOP}$.

Ordered asymptotic classes of finite structures

In this paper we introduce the concept of O-asymptotic classes of finite structures, melding ideas coming from 1-dimensional asymptotic classes and o-minimality. The results we present here include a cell-decomposition result for O-asymptotic classes and a classification of their infinite ultraproducts: Every infinite ultraproduct of structures in an O-asymptotic class is superrosy of U-thorn-rank 1, and NTP2 (in fact, inp-minimal).

Unimodularity unified

Unimodularity is localized to a complete stationary type, and its properties are analysed. Some variants of unimodularity for definable and type-definable sets are introduced, and the relationship between these different notions is studied. In particular, it is shown that all notions coincide for non-multidimensional theories where the dimensions are associated to strongly minimal types.

A note on pseudofinite dimension and forking

In this paper we show that an instance of dividing in pseudofinite structures can be witnessed by a drop of the pseudofinite dimension. As an application of this result we give new proofs of known results for asymptotic classes of finite structures.
