Graph hypersurfaces with torus action and a conjecture of Aluffi

Generalizing the star graphs of Müller-Stach and Westrich, we describe a class of graphs whose associated graph hypersurface is equipped with a non-trivial torus action. For such graphs, we show that the Euler characteristic of the corresponding projective graph hypersurface complement is zero. In contrast, we also show that the Euler characteristic in question can take any integer value for a suitable graph. This disproves a conjecture of Aluffi in a strong sense.

On Constructions of Free Singularities

The purpose of this paper is to give new examples of families of free singularities. We first show that a generic equidimensional subspace arrangement is free. Furthermore, we show that a product of two reduced Cohen-Macaulay subspaces is free if and only if both subspaces are free.

Configuration polynomials under contact equivalence

Configuration polynomials generalize the classical Kirchhoff polynomial defined by a graph. Their study sheds light on certain polynomials appearing in Feynman integrands. Contact equivalence provides a way to study the associated configuration hypersurface. In the contact equivalence class of any configuration polynomial we identify a polynomial with minimal number of variables; it is a configuration polynomial. This minimal number is bounded by $r+1\choose 2$, where $r$ is the rank of the underlying matroid. We show that the number of equivalence classes is finite exactly up to rank $3$ and list explicit normal forms for these classes.

Characterizations of freeness for equidimensional subspaces

The purpose of this paper is to investigate properties of the minimal free resolution of the modules of multi-logarithmic forms along a reduced equidimensional subspace. We first consider a notion of freeness for reduced complete intersections, and more generally for reduced equidimensional subspaces embedded in a smooth manifold, which generalizes the notion of Saito free divisors. The first main result is a characterization of freeness in terms of the projective dimension of the module of multi-logarithmic k -forms, where k is the codimension. We also prove that there is a perfect pairing between the module of multi-logarithmic differential k -forms and the module of multi-logarithmic k -vector fields which generalizes the duality between the corresponding modules in the hypersurface case. We deduce from this perfect pairing a duality between the Jacobian ideal and the module of multi-residues of multi-logarithmic k -forms. In the last part of this paper, we investigate logarithmic modules along some examples of free singularities. The main result in this section is an explicit computation of the minimal free resolution of the module of multi-logarithmic forms and multi-residues for quasi-homogeneous complete intersection curves which uses our first main theorem.

On a generalization of Solomon-Terao formula for subspace arrangements

We investigate in this paper a generalization of Solomon-Terao formula for central equidimensional subspace arrangements. We introduce generalized Solomon-Terao functions based on the Hilbert-Poincaré series of the modules of multi-logarithmic forms and logarithmic multi-residues. We show that as in the case of hyperplane arrangements, these Solomon-Terao functions are polynomial. We then prove that if the Solomon-Terao polynomial of the modules of multi-residues satisfies a certain property, then this polynomial is related to the characteristic polynomial of the subspace arrangement. In particular, we prove that this generalized Solomon-Terao formula holds for any line arrangement of any codimension.

Symmetry of maximals for fractional ideals of curves

The purpose of this paper is to extend the symmetry of maximals of the ring of a germ of reducible plane curve proved by Delgado to a relation between the relative maximals of a fractional ideal and the absolute maximals of its dual for any admissible ring. In particular, it includes the case of germs of reduced reducible curve of any codimension. We then apply this symmetry to characterize the elements in the set of values of a fractional ideal from some of its projections and the irreducible absolute maximals of the dual ideal.

On the values of logarithmic residues along curves

We consider the germ of a reduced curve, possibly reducible. F.Delgado de la Mata proved that such a curve is Gorenstein if and only if its semigroup of values is symmetrical. We extend here this symmetry property to any fractional ideal of a Gorenstein curve. We then focus on the set of values of the module of logarithmic residues along plane curves or complete intersection curves, which determines and is determined by the values of the Jacobian ideal thanks to our symmetry theorem. Moreover, we give the relation with Kahler differentials, which are used in the analytic classification of plane branches. We also study the behaviour of logarithmic residues in an equisingular deformation of a plane curve.
