Black-bounce solutions in a k-essence theory under the effects of bumblebee gravity

In the present study, we analyze the effects of violation of Lorentz symmetry for black-bounce solutions in a $k$-essence theory that has the form of a power law for the configuration $n=1/3$. We perform such analysis for a known model explored in previous work $\Sigma^2=x^2+a^2$ and complement the proposal with a new black-bounce model for the area functions $\Sigma^2_1=\sqrt{x^4+d^4}$. This model has the Schwarzschild-de Sitter asymptomatic behavior for $x\to{-\infty}$, and we investigate the scalar field, potential, and energy conditions for both models. We have shown that the violation of Lorentz symmetry can be generated through $k$-essence without the need for an additional field. These results corroborate the validation of other previously investigated wormhole solutions.

Magnetically charged black-bounce solution via nonlinear electrodynamics in a k-essence theory

In the present work, we obtain and analyze a new class of analytical solutions of magnetically charged black bounces in k-essence theory, spherically symmetric in (3+1)-dimensions, coupled to nonlinear electrodynamics (NED). We consider two metric models, Simpson-Visser and Bardeen, for the k-essence configurations n = 1/3 and n = 1/5. We obtain in an analytical way which scalar field, field potential, and Lagrangian NED are necessary to support the metrics. We analyze the behavior of these quantities and the energy conditions due to the scalar field and the NED.

New sources of ghost fields in $k$-essence theories for black-bounce solutions

In the present study, we generalize the possible ghost field configurations within the framework of $k$-essence theory to the Simpson-Visser metric area function $\Sigma^2=x^2+a^2$. Our analysis encompasses field configurations for the region-defined metric function $dA_\pm$ as well as the general solution that asymptotically behaves as Schwarzschild-de Sitter for $x\to-\infty$. Specifically, we investigate two scalar field configurations and define the associated potential for each one. Through rigorous calculations, we verify that all equations of motion are satisfied. Notably, our findings indicate that even when proposing new configurations of ghost scalar fields, the energy conditions remain unchanged. This result serves to validate the wormhole solutions obtained in previous studies.

Black-bounce solution in $k$-essence theories

In the present work, we construct black-bounce configurations in the context of $k$-essence theory. The solutions have a regular metric function at the origin. The area metric function is linked to the black-bounce area initially considered by Simpson-Visser, $\Sigma^2=x^2+a^2$. Subsequently, the expressions for the scalar field and scalar potential corresponding to the found solutions are determined, exhibiting phantom behavior everywhere due to violation of Null Energy Condition $(NEC^\phi)$. The Kretschmann scalar is regular throughout spacetime, and the geodesics are complete. The energy conditions are analyzed, verifying that the null $(NEC^\phi_1)$ and dominant energy conditions $(DEC^\phi_1)$ are violated inside and outside the event horizon. Finally, the extrinsic curvature method was applied to determine the sign of the mass on the junction surface.

Black hole and wormhole solutions in Einstein-Maxwell-Scalar theory

We classified and studied the charged black hole and wormhole solutions in the Einstein--Maxwell system in the presence of a massless, real scalar field. The possible existence of charged black holes in general scalar--tensor theories was studied in {Bronnikov et al, 1999;} black holes and wormholes exist for a negative kinetic term for the scalar field. Using a conformal transformation, the static, spherically symmetric possible structures in the minimal coupled system are described. Besides wormholes and naked singularities, only a restricted class of black hole exists, exhibiting a horizon with an infinite surface and a timelike central singularity. The black holes and wormholes defined in the Einstein frame have some specificities with respect to the non-minimal coupling original frame, which are discussed in the text.

Rastall's theory of gravity: Spherically symmetric solutions and the stability problem

We study the stability of static, spherically symmetric solutions of Rastall's theory in the presence of a scalar field with respect to spherically symmetric perturbations. It is shown that the stability analysis is inconsistent in the sense that linear time-dependent perturbations cannot exist, and we can conclude that these solutions are stable. Possible reasons for this inconsistency are discussed.

On the instability of some k-essence space-times

We study the stability properties of static, spherically symmetric configurations in k-essence theories with the Lagrangians of the form $F(X)$, $X \equiv ϕ_{,α} ϕ^{,α}$. The instability under spherically symmetric perturbations is proved for two recently obtained exact solutions for $F(X) =F_0 X^{1/3}$ and for $F(X) = F_0 X^{1/2} - 2 Λ$, where $F_0$ and $Λ$ are constants. The first solution describes a black hole in an asymptotically singular space-time, the second one contains two horizons of infinite area connected by a wormhole. It is argued that spherically symmetric k-essence configurations with $n < 1/2$ are generically unstable because the perturbation equation is not of hyperbolic type.

Duality between k-essence and Rastall gravity

The k-essence theory with a power-law function of $(\partialϕ)^2$ and Rastall's non-conservative theory of gravity with a scalar field are shown to have the same solutions for the metric under the assumption that both the metric and the scalar fields depend on a single coordinate. This equivalence (called k-R duality) holds for static configurations with various symmetries (spherical, plane, cylindrical, etc.) and all homogeneous cosmologies. In the presence of matter, Rastall's theory requires additional assumptions on how the stress-energy tensor non-conservation is distributed between different contributions. Two versions of such non-conservation are considered in the case of isotropic spatially flat cosmological models with a perfect fluid: one (R1) in which there is no coupling between the scalar field and the fluid, and another (R2) in which the fluid separately obeys the usual conservation law. In version R1 it is shown that k-R duality holds not only for the cosmological models themselves but also for their adiabatic perturbations. In version R2, among other results, a particular model is singled out that reproduces the same cosmological expansion history as the standard $Λ$CDM model but predicts different behaviors of small fluctuations in the k-essence and Rastall frameworks.

On Black Hole Structures in Scalar-Tensor Theories of Gravity

We review some properties of black hole structures appearing in gravity with a massless scalar field, with both minimal and nonminimal coupling. The main properties of the resulting cold black holes are described. The study of black holes in scalar-gravity systems is extended to $k$-essence theories, and some examples are explicitly worked out. In these cases, even while the existence of horizons is possible, the metric regularity requirement on the horizon implies either a cold black type structure or a singular behavior of the scalar field.
