Lefschetz and Hirzebruch-Riemann-Roch formulas via noncommutative motives

V. Lunts has recently established Lefschetz fixed point theorems for Fourier-Mukai functors and dg algebras. In the same vein, D. Shklyarov introduced the noncommutative analogue of the Hirzebruch-Riemann-Roch theorem. In this short article, we see how these constructions and computations formally stem from their motivic counterparts.

Descente par éclatements en K-théorie invariante par homotopie

These notes give a proof of the representability of homotopy invariant K-theory in the stable homotopy category of schemes (which was announced by Voevodsky). One deduces from the proper base change theorem in stable homotopy theory of schemes a descent by blow-ups theorem for homotopy invariant K-theory.

Dendroidal sets and simplicial operads

We establish a Quillen equivalence relating the homotopy theory of Segal operads and the homotopy theory of simplicial operads, from which we deduce that the homotopy coherent nerve functor is a right Quillen equivalence from the model category of simplicial operads to the model category structure for infinity-operads on the category of dendroidal sets. By slicing over the monoidal unit, this also gives the Quillen equivalence between Segal categories and simplicial categories proved by J. Bergner, as well as the Quillen equivalence between quasi-categories and simplicial categories proved by A. Joyal and J. Lurie. We also explain how this theory applies to the usual notion of operad (i.e. with a single colour) in the category of spaces.

The Lifting Theorem for Multitensors

We continue to develop the theory of monads and multitensors. The central result of this paper - the lifting theorem for multitensors - enables us to see the Gray tensor product of 2-categories and the Crans tensor product of Gray categories as part of our emerging framework. Moreover we explain how our lifting theorem gives an alternative description of Day convolution in the unenriched context.

Algebras of higher operads as enriched categories II

One of the open problems in higher category theory is the systematic construction of the higher dimensional analogues of the Gray tensor product. In this paper we continue the work of [7] to adapt the machinery of globular operads [4] to this task. The resulting theory includes the Gray tensor product of 2-categories and the Crans tensor product [12] of Gray categories. Moreover much of the previous work on the globular approach to higher category theory is simplified by our new foundations, and we illustrate this by giving an expedited account of many aspects of Cheng's analysis [11] of Trimble's definition of weak n-category. By way of application we obtain an "Ekmann-Hilton" result for braided monoidal 2-categories, and give the construction of a tensor product of A-infinity algebras.

Symmetric monoidal structure on Non-commutative motives

In this article we further the study of non-commutative motives. Our main result is the construction of a symmetric monoidal structure on the localizing motivator Mot of dg categories. As an application, we obtain : (1) a computation of the spectra of morphisms in Mot in terms of non-connective algebraic K-theory; (2) a fully-faithful embedding of Kontsevich's category KMM of non-commutative mixed motives into the base category Mot(e) of the localizing motivator; (3) a simple construction of the Chern character maps from non-connective algebraic K-theory to negative and periodic cyclic homology; (4) a precise connection between Toen's secondary K-theory and the Grothendieck ring of KMM ; (5) a description of the Euler characteristic in KMM in terms of Hochschild homology.

Mixed Weil cohomologies

We define, for a regular scheme $S$ and a given field of characteristic zero $\KK$, the notion of $\KK$-linear mixed Weil cohomology on smooth $S$-schemes by a simple set of properties, mainly: Nisnevich descent, homotopy invariance, stability (which means that the cohomology of $\GG_{m}$ behaves correctly), and Künneth formula. We prove that any mixed Weil cohomology defined on smooth $S$-schemes induces a symmetric monoidal realization of some suitable triangulated category of motives over $S$ to the derived category of the field $\KK$. This implies a finiteness theorem and a Poincaré duality theorem for such a cohomology with respect to smooth and projective $S$-schemes (which can be extended to smooth $S$-schemes when $S$ is the spectrum of a perfect field). This formalism also provides a convenient tool to understand the comparison of such cohomology theories. Our main examples are algebraic de Rham cohomology and rigid cohomology, and the Berthelot-Ogus isomorphism relating them.

Non connective K-theory via universal invariants

In this article, we further the study of higher K-theory of dg categories via universal invariants, initiated by the second named author. Our main result is the co-representability of non-connective K-theory by the base ring in the universal localizing motivator. As an application, we obtain for free higher Chern characters, resp. higher trace maps, e.g. from non-connective K-theory to cyclic homology, resp. to topological Hochschild homology.

Locally constant functors

We study locally constant coefficients. We first study the theory of homotopy Kan extensions with locally constant coefficients in model categories, and explain how it characterizes the homotopy theory of small categories. We explain how to interpret this in terms of left Bousfield localization of categories of diagrams with values in a combinatorial model category. At last, we explain how the theory of homotopy Kan extensions in derivators can be used to understand locally constant functors.

Local and stable homological algebra in Grothendieck abelian categories

We define model category structures on the category of chain complexes over a Grothendieck abelian category depending on the choice of a generating family, and we study their behaviour with respect to tensor products and stabilization. This gives convenient tools to construct and understand triangulated categories of motives and we consider here the case of mixed motives over a regular base scheme.

Batanin higher groupoids and homotopy types

We prove that any homotopy type can be recovered canonically from its associated weak omega-groupoid. This implies that the homotopy category of CW-complexes can be embedded in the homotopy category of Batanin's weak higher groupoids.
