{Let ${\Cal X}$ be a self-dual P-polynomial association scheme. Then there are at most 12 diagonal matrices $T$ such that $(PT)^3=I$. Moreover, all of the solutions for the classical infinite families of such schemes (including the Hamming scheme) are classified.
The linearization coefficients for a set of orthogonal polynomials are given explicitly as a weighted sum of combinatorial objects. Positivity theorems of Askey and Szwarc are corollaries of these expansions.
We describe various aspects of the Al-Salam-Carlitz $q$-Charlier polynomials. These include combinatorial descriptions of the moments, the orthogonality relation, and the linearization coefficients.
Three specializations of a set of orthogonal polynomials with ``8 different q's'' are given. The polynomials are identified as $q$-analogues of Laguerre polynomials, and the combinatorial interpretation of the moments give infinitely many new Mahonian statistics on permutations.
