Stable hypersurfaces with constant scalar curvature in Euclidean spaces

We obtain some nonexistence results for complete noncompact stable hyppersurfaces with nonnegative constant scalar curvature in Euclidean spaces. As a special case we prove that there is no complete noncompact strongly stable hypersurface $M$ in $\mathbb{R}^{4}$ with zero scalar curvature $S_2$, nonzero Gauss-Kronecker curvature and finite total curvature (i.e. $\int_M|A|^3<+\infty$).

On complete gradient shrinking Ricci solitons

In this paper we derive a precise estimate on the growth of potential functions of complete noncompact shrinking solitons. Based on this, we prove that a complete noncompact gradient shrinking Ricci soliton has at most Euclidean volume growth. The latter result can be viewed as an analog of the well-known theorem of Bishop that a complete noncompact Riemannian manifold with nonnegative Ricci curvature has at most Euclidean volume growth.

Curvature integral estimates for complete hypersurfaces

We consider the integrals of $r$-mean curvatures $S_r$ of a complete hypersurface $M$ in space forms $\mathcal{Q}_c^{n+1}$ which generalize volume $(r=0)$, total mean curvature $(r=1)$, total scalar curvature $(r=2)$ and total curvature $(r=n)$. Among other results we prove that a complete properly immersed hypersurface of a space form with $S_r\geq 0$, $S_r\not\equiv 0$ and $S_{r+1}\equiv 0$ for some $r\le n-1$ has $\int_MS_rdM=\infty.$

Manifolds with weighted Poincaré inequality and uniqueness of minimal hypersurfaces

In this paper, we obtain results on rigidity of complete Riemannian manifolds with weighted Poincaré inequality. As an application, we prove that if $M$ is a complete $\frac{n-2}{n}$-stable minimal hypersurface in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ with $n\geq 3$ and has bounded norm of the second fundamental form, then $M$ must either have only one end or be a catenoid.

Stability properties for the higher dimensional catenoid in $\rr^{n+1}$

This paper concerns some stability properties of higher dimensional catenoids in $\rr^{n+1}$ with $n\ge 3$. We prove that higher dimensional catenoids have index one. We use $δ$-stablity for minimal hypersurfaces and show that the catenoid is $\frac 2n$-stable and a complete $\frac 2n$-stable minimal hypersurface is a catenoid or a hyperplane provided the second fundamental form satisfies some decay conditions.

Spectrum of the Laplacian on Quaternionic Kahler Manifolds

Let $M^{4n}$ be a complete quaternionic Kähler manifold with scalar curvature bounded below by $-16n(n+2)$. We get a sharp estimate for the first eigenvalue $λ_1(M)$ of the Laplacian which is $λ_1(M)\le (2n+1)^2$. If the equality holds, then either $M$ has only one end, or $M$ is diffeomorphic to $\mathbb{R}\times N$ with N given by a compact manifold. Moreover, if $M$ is of bounded curvature, $M$ is covered by the quaterionic hyperbolic space $\mathbb{QH}^n$ and $N$ is a compact quotient of the generalized Heisenberg group. When $λ_1(M)\ge \frac{8(n+2)}3$, we also prove that $M$ must have only one end with infinite volume.

The structure of stable constant mean curvature hypersufaces

We study the global behavior of (weakly) stable constant mean curvature hypersurfaces in general Riemannian manifolds. By using harmonic function theory, we prove some one-end theorems which are new even for constant mean curvature hypersurfaces in space forms. In particular, a complete oriented weakly stable minimal hypersurface in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}, n\geq 3,$ must have only one end. Any complete noncompact weakly stable CMC $H$-hypersurface in the hyperbolic space $\mathbb{H}^{n+1}, n=3,4,$ with $H^2\geq{10/9}, {7/4},$ respectively, has only one end.
