Pion parton distribution functions with the nonrelativistic constituent quark model

We calculate the valence quark distribution functions of the $\pi$ meson using the non-relativistic chiral constituent quark model. The $\pi$ wave function is obtained by solving the two-body Schr\"odinger equation within the framework of constituent quark model. We transform the $\pi$ wave function from the rest frame to the light cone or infinite momentum frame based on the Lorentz boost. The valence quark distributions at the initial evolution scale are obtained. The QCD evolution are given with the DGLAP equations with parton-parton recombination corrections. With tuning the valence up (down) quark mass to 70 MeV, the calculated valence up quark distributions at $Q^2=20$ GeV$^2$ are in good agreement with the E615 experimental data. The structure functions $\rm{F}_2^\pi(x,Q^2)$ of pion are also calculated which consist with the H1 experimental data. The proposed mechanisms here could be also used to study other hadrons.

Understanding penta quark with various quark models

The pentaquark state recently discovered has been studied with three quark models which either fit the nucleon spin structure or the $NN$ scattering. A minimum $Θ^+$ mass of 1620 MeV is obtained both for the ${1/2}^\pm$ state. The mixing of various color structure configurations, which would reduce the mass of the penta-quark state, should be taking into account in the calculation of penta-quark mass.

Multi-quark states

The pentaquark state recently discovered has been discussed based on various quark model calculations. Odd parity for the state can not be ruled out theoretically because contributions related to non-trivial color structures have not been studied completely. Other multiquark states, especially dibaryons, have been discussed also. A strangeness -3 N$Ω$ dibaryon has been shown to have a width as small as 12-22 keV and should be detectable in $Ω$ high productivity reactions such as at RHIC, COMPAS and the planned JHF and FAIR projects.

Axial vector form factor of nucleons in a light-cone diquark model

The nucleon axial vector form factor is investigated in a light-cone quark spectator diquark model, in which Melosh rotations are applied to both the quark and vector diquark. It is found that this model gives a very good description of available experimental data and the results have very little dependence on the parameters of the model. The relation between the nucleon axial constant and the anomalous magnetic moment of nucleons is also discussed.

Electromagnetic Form Factors of Nucleons in a Light-cone Diquark Model

We investigate the electromagnetic form factors of nucleons within a simple relativistic quark spectator-diquark model using the light-cone formalism. Melosh rotations are applied to both quark and vector diquark. It is shown that the difference between vector and scalar spectator diquarks reproduces the right electric form factor of neutrons, and both the form factors $G_E(Q^2)$ and $G_M(Q^2)$ of the proton and neutron agree with experimental data well up to $Q^2=2 ~\rm{GeV}^2$ in this simple model.

Photo-production of Nucleon Resonances and Nucleon Spin Structure Function in the Resonance Region

The photo-production of nucleon resonances is calculated based on a chiral constituent quark model including both relativistic corrections H{rel} and two-body exchange currents, and it is shown that these effects play an important role. We also calculate the first moment of the nucleon spin structure function g1 (x,Q^2) in the resonance region, and obtain a sign-changing point around Q^2 ~ 0.27 {GeV}^2 for the proton.

The electro production of d* dibaryon

$d^*$ dibaryon study is a critical test of hadron interaction models. The electro production cross sections of $ed\to ed^*$ have been calculated based on the meson exchange current model and the cross section around 30 degree of 1 GeV electron in the laboratory frame is about 10 nb. The implication of this result for the $d^*$ dibaryon search has been discussed.

Spin content of the nucleon in a valence and sea quark mixing model

A dynamical valence and sea quark mixing model is shown to fit the baryon ground state properties as well as the spin content of the nucleon. The relativistic correction and the $q^3{\leftrightarrow} q^3q\bar{q}$ transition terms induced by the quark axial vector current $\barψ\vecγγ^5ψ$ in this model space is responsible for the quark spin reduction.
