Cardy-Verlinde formula in FRW Universe with inhomogeneous generalized fluid and dynamical entropy bounds near the future singularity

We derive a Cardy-Verlinde-like formula which relates the entropy of the closed FRW universe to its energy, and Casimir energy, for a multicomponent coupled fluid. The generalized fluid obeys an inhomogeneous equation of state. A viscous dark fluid is included, and we include also modified gravity using its fluid representation. It is demonstrated how such an expression reduces to the standard Cardy-Verlinde formula corresponding to the 2d CFT entropy only in some special cases. The dynamical entropy bound for a closed FRW universe with dark components is obtained. The universality of the dynamical entropy bound near a future singularity (of all four types), as well as near the Big Bang singularity, is investigated. It is demonstrated that except from some special cases of Type II and Type IV singularities the dynamical entropy bound is violated near the singularity even if quantum effects are taken into account. The dynamical entropy bound seems to be universal for the case of a regular universe, including the asymptotic de Sitter one.

The oscillating dark energy and cosmological Casimir effect

The role of dynamical cosmological Casimir effect to phantom (constant $w$) and oscillating Universe is discussed. It is shown explicitly that its role is not essential near to Big Rip singularity. However, the account of Casimir fluid makes the scale factor approach to Rip time to be faster. Rip time itself maybe changed too.

LambdaCDM epoch reconstruction from F(R,G) and modified Gauss-Bonnet gravities

Dark energy cosmology is considered in a modified Gauss-Bonnet model of gravity with and without a scalar field. It is shown that these generalizations of General Relativity endow it with a very rich cosmological structure: it may naturally lead to an effective cosmological constant, quintessence or phantom cosmic acceleration, with the possibility to describe the transition from a decelerating to an accelerating phase explicitly. It is demonstrated here that these modified GB and scalar-GB theories are perfectly viable as cosmological models. They can describe the LambdaCDM cosmological era without any need for a cosmological constant. Specific properties of these theories of gravity in different particular cases, such as the de Sitter one, are studied.

Reconstructing cosmological solutions in F(R) gravity. Towards a unified model of the Universe evolution

It is accepted by the majority of scientific community that the Universe is currently in an accelerated epoch. In order to explain this shock of late 90's, a lot of dark energy candidates have been proposed. We study in the context of f (R) gravity, how some modifications on General Relativity could reproduce such behavior of the cosmic evolution. It is showed that in general, an f (R) theory can be reconstructed from a non-minimal scalar-tensor theory, where a desired cosmological solution can be achieved. Some viable models are studied as well as its cosmological evolution, and the possibility that inflationary epoch is also a result of these fine modifications.

Modified f(R) gravity from scalar-tensor theory and inhomogeneous EoS dark energy

The reconstruction of f(R)-gravity is showed by using an auxiliary scalar field in the context of cosmological evolution, this development provide a way of reconstruct the form of the function f (R) for a given evolution of the Hubble parameter. In analogy, f(R)-gravity may be expressed by a perfect fluid with an inhomogeneous equation of state that depends on the Hubble parameter and its derivatives. This mathematical equivalence that may confuse about the origin of the mechanism that produces the current acceleration, and possibly the whole evolution of the Hubble parameter, is shown here.

Oscillating Universe from inhomogeneous EoS and coupled dark energy

An occurrence of an oscillating Universe is showed using an inhomogeneous equation of state for dark energy fluid. The Hubble parameter described presents a periodic behavior such that early and late time acceleration are unified under the same mechanism. Also, it is considered a coupling between dark energy fluid, with homogeneous and constant EoS, and matter, that gives a periodic Universe too. The possible phantom phases and future singularities are studied in the oscillating Universe under discussion. The equivalent scalar-tensor representation for the same oscillating Universe is presented too.

Scalar-Tensor theories and current Cosmology

Scalar-tensor theories are studied in the context of cosmological evolution, where the expansion history of the Universe is reconstructed. It is considered quintessence/phantom models, where inflation and cosmic acceleration are reproduced. Also, the non-minimally coupling regime between the scalar field and the Ricci scalar is studied and cosmological solutions are obtained. The Chamaleon mechanism is shown as a solution of the local gravity tests problems presented in this kind of theories.

Reconstructing the universe history, from inflation to acceleration, with phantom and canonical scalar fields

We consider the reconstruction technique in theories with a single or multiple (phantom and/or canonical) scalar fields. With the help of several examples, it is demonstrated explicitly that the universe expansion history, unifying early-time inflation and late-time acceleration, can be realized in scalar-tensor gravity. This is generalized to the theory of a scalar field coupled non-minimally to the curvature and to a Brans-Dicke-like theory. Different examples of unification of inflation with cosmic acceleration, in which de Sitter, phantom, and quintessence type fields play the fundamental role--in different combinations--are worked out. Specifically, the frame dependence and stability properties of de Sitter space scalar field theory are studied. Finally, for two-scalar theories, the late-time acceleration and early-time inflation epochs are successfully reconstructed, in realistic situations in which the more and more stringent observational bounds are satisfied, using the freedom of choice of the scalar field potential, and of the kinetic factor.
