Embedding the stationary spacetimes into Brans-Dicke cosmology via conformal transformations

A conformal transformation of a static or stationary spacetime by a time dependent conformal scale factor ${S(τ)}^2$ is one of the methods of producing a cosmological spacetime. Using this knowledge and Brans-Dicke (BD) field equations, we investigate two time dependent metrics, including Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker (FLRW) spacetime and conformally transformed Kerr-Newman black hole, and we obtain solutions that allow different expansion rates for each geometry. These expansion rates depend on the matter content of the conformally transformed geometry. We state that the BD scalar field yields accelerated expansion of the conformal spacetime if the original metric has vacuum geometry, and no acceleration if the original spacetime has some curvature or matter content in it.

Conformal cosmological black holes: restoring determinism to Einstein theory

A widespread solution-generating technique of general relativity consists of conformally transforming known `seed' solutions. It is shown that these new solutions always solve the field equations of a pathological Brans-Dicke theory. Furthermore, when interpreted as effective Einstein equations, those field equations exhibit, in the case of a cosmological `background', an induced imperfect fluid as an additional effective source besides the original sources of the `seed' solutions. As an application, the charged non-rotating Thakurta black hole conformal to Reissner-Nordstrom is used to demonstrate the fragility of the inner Cauchy horizon when this black hole is embedded in the universe (even accounting for the separation of black hole and Hubble scales). Similarly, the charged McVittie spacetime representing a charged black hole embedded in a cosmological `background' with varying Hubble parameter does not exhibit a real Cauchy horizon. These arguments speak in favor of restoring determinism to Einstein theory, which was questioned in recent research.

Higher Dimensional Cylindrical or Kasner Type Electrovacuum Solutions

We consider a D dimensional Kasner type diagonal spacetime where metric functions depend only on a single coordinate and electromagnetic field shares the symmetries of spacetime. These solutions can describe static cylindrical or cosmological Einstein-Maxwell vacuum spacetimes. We mainly focus on electrovacuum solutions and four different types of solutions are obtained in which one of them has no four dimensional counterpart. We also consider the properties of the general solution corresponding to the exterior field of a charged line mass and discuss its several properties. Although it resembles the same form with four dimensional one, there is a difference on the range of the solutions for fixed signs of the parameters. General magnetic field vacuum solution are also briefly discussed, which reduces to Bonnor-Melvin magnetic universe for a special choice of the parameters. The Kasner forms of the general solution are also presented for the cylindrical or cosmological cases.
