Comparative analysis of analytical solutions for $F_2^P$ at small $x$ in DGLAP approach

Coupled DGLAP equations involving singlet quark and gluon distributions are explored by a Taylor expansion as two first order partial differential equations in two variables. The system of equations are then solved by the Lagrange's method and Method of Characteristics. We obtain the proton structure function by combining the corresponding non-singlet and singlet structure functions by both the methods. Analytical solutions for proton structure function thus obtained are compared with the data available and their compatibility is checked. Data favors the analytical solution by Lagrange's method.

An Analysis of Isgur-Wise Function of Heavy-Light Mesons within a Higher Dimensional Potential Model Approach

Nambu-Goto action for bosonic string predicts the quark-antiquark potential to be $V(r) = -\fracγ{r}+ σr + μ_0$. The coefficient $γ=\frac{π(d-2)}{24}$ is the Lüscher coefficient of the Lüscher term $\fracγ{r}$, which depends upon the space-time dimension `d'. Very recently, we have developed meson wave functions in higher dimension with this potential from higher dimensional Schrodinger equation by applying quantum mechanical perturbation technique with both $L\ddot{u}scher$ term as parent and as perturbation. In this letter, we analyze Isgur-Wise function for heavy-light mesons using these wave functions in higher dimension and make a comparative study on the status of the perturbation technique in both the cases.

Isgur-Wise Function for Heavy Light Mesons in D dimensional Potential Model

We report results of a potential model for mesons in D space-time dimension developed by considering the quark-antiquark potential of Nambu-Goto strings. With this wave function, we have studied Isgur-Wise function for heavy-light mesons and its derivatives like slope and curvature. The dimensional dependence of our results and a comparative study with the results of 3+1 dimensional QCD are also reported.

An analysis of the Isgur-Wise Function and its derivatives within a Heavy-Light QCD Quark Model

In determining the mesonic wave function from QCD inspired potential model, if the linear confinement term is taken as parent (with columbic term as perturbation), Airy's function appears in the resultant wave function - which is an infinite series. In the study of Isgur-Wise function (IWF) and its derivatives with such a wave function, the infinite upper limit of integration gives rise to divergence. In this paper, we have proposed some reasonable cut-off values for the upper limit of such integrations and studied the subsequent effect on the results. We also study the sensitivity of the order of polynomial approximation of the infinite Airy series in calculating the derivatives of IWF.
