Cuspidal representations of sl(n+1)

In this paper we study the subcategory of cuspidal modules of the category of weight modules over the Lie algebra sl(n+1). Our main result is a complete classification and explicit description of the indecomposable cuspidal modules.

Parabolic sets of roots

We compare two combinatorial definitions of parabolic sets of roots. We show that these definitions are equivalent for simple finite dimensional Lie algebras, affine Lie algebras, and toroidal Lie algebras. In contrast, these definitions are not always equivalent for simple finite dimensional Lie superalgebras.

Automorphisms of toroidal Lie superalgebras

We give a detailed description of the algebraic group Aut(g) of automorphisms of a simple finite dimensional Lie superalgebra g over an algebraically closed field k of characteristic 0. We also give a description of the group of automorphisms of the k-Lie superalgebra $g \otimes_k R$ whenever R is a Noetherian domain with trivial Picard group.

Category of sp(2n)-modules with bounded weight multiplicities

Let $g$ be a finite dimensional simple Lie algebra. Denote by $\mathcal B$ the category of all bounded weight $g$-modules, i.e. those which are direct sum of their weight spaces and have uniformly bounded weight multiplicities. A result of Fernando shows that infinite-dimensional bounded weight modules exist only for $g=sl(n)$ and $g=sp(2n)$. If $g=sp(2n)$ we show that $\mathcal B$ has enough projectives if and only if $n>1$. In addition, the indecomposable projective modules can be parameterized and described explicitly. All indecomposable objects are described in terms of indecomposable representations of a certain quiver with relations. This quiver is wild for $n>2$. For $n=2$ we describe all indecomposables by relating the blocks of $\mathcal B$ to the representations of the affine quiver $A_3^{(1)}$.

On the structure and characters of weight modules

Let $\mathfrak g$ be a classical Lie superalgebra of type I or a Cartan-type Lie superalgebra {\bf W}$(n)$. We study weight $\mathfrak g$-modules using a method inspired by Mathieu's classification of the simple weight modules with finite weight multiplicities over reductive Lie algebras, \cite{M}. Our approach is based on the fact that every simple weight $\mathfrak g$-module with finite weight multiplicities is obtained via a composition of a twist and localization from a highest weight module. This allows us to transfer many results for category ${\cal O}$ modules to the category of weight modules with finite weight multiplicities. As a main application of the method we reduce the problems of finding a ${\mathfrak g}_0$-composition series and a character formula for all simple weight modules to the same problems for simple highest weight modules. In this way, using results of Serganova we obtain a character formula for all simple weight {\bf W}$(n)$-modules and all simple atypical nonsingular ${\mathfrak s}{\mathfrak l} (m|1)$-modules. Some of our results are new already in the case of a classical reductive Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$.
