Conformal Invariance of Spin Correlations in the Planar Ising Model

We rigorously prove the existence and the conformal invariance of scaling limits of the magnetization and multi-point spin correlations in the critical Ising model on arbitrary simply connected planar domains. This solves a number of conjectures coming from the physical and the mathematical literature. The proof relies on convergence results for discrete holomorphic spinor observables and probabilistic techniques.

Convergence of Ising interfaces to Schramm's SLE curves

We show how to combine our earlier results to deduce strong convergence of the interfaces in the planar critical Ising model and its random-cluster representation to Schramm's SLE curves with parameter $κ=3$ and $κ=16/3$ respectively.

Crossing probabilities in topological rectangles for the critical planar FK-Ising model

We consider the FK-Ising model in two dimensions at criticality. We obtain bounds on crossing probabilities of arbitrary topological rectangles, uniform with respect to the boundary conditions, generalizing results of [DCHN11] and [CS12]. Our result relies on new discrete complex analysis techniques, introduced in [Che12]. We detail some applications, in particular the computation of so-called universal exponents, the proof of quasi-multiplicativity properties of arm probabilities, and bounds on crossing probabilities for the classical Ising model.

Inverse vector-valued Sturm-Liouville problem. I. Uniqueness theorem

This paper starts a series devoted to the vector-valued Sturm-Liouville problem $-ψ''+V(x)ψ=λψ$, $ψ\in L^2([0,1];\mathbb{C}^N)$, with separated boundary conditions. The overall goal of the series is to give a complete characterization of classes of spectral data corresponding to potentials $V=V^*\in L^p([0,1];\mathbb{C}^{N\times N})$ for a fixed $1\le p <+\infty$ and separated boundary conditions having the most general form. In the first paper we briefly describe our approach to this inverse problem and prove some preliminary results including the relevant uniqueness theorem.

Holomorphic Spinor Observables in the Critical Ising Model

We introduce a new version of discrete holomorphic observables for the critical planar Ising model. These observables are holomorphic spinors defined on double covers of the original multiply connected domain. We compute their scaling limits, and show their relation to the ratios of spin correlations, thus providing a rigorous proof to a number of formulae for those ratios predicted by CFT arguments.

Universality in the 2D Ising model and conformal invariance of fermionic observables

It is widely believed that the celebrated 2D Ising model at criticality has a universal and conformally invariant scaling limit, which is used in deriving many of its properties. However, no mathematical proof of universality and conformal invariance has ever been given, and even physics arguments support (a priori weaker) Möbius invariance. We introduce discrete holomorphic fermions for the 2D Ising model at criticality on a large family of planar graphs. We show that on bounded domains with appropriate boundary conditions, those have universal and conformally invariant scaling limits, thus proving the universality and conformal invariance conjectures.

Discrete complex analysis on isoradial graphs

We study discrete complex analysis and potential theory on a large family of planar graphs, the so-called isoradial ones. Along with discrete analogues of several classical results, we prove uniform convergence of discrete harmonic measures, Green's functions and Poisson kernels to their continuous counterparts. Among other applications, the results can be used to establish universality of the critical Ising and other lattice models.

Weyl-Titchmarsh functions of vector-valued Sturm-Liouville operators on the unit interval

The matrix-valued Weyl-Titchmarsh functions $M(λ)$ of vector-valued Sturm-Liouville operators on the unit interval with the Dirichlet boundary conditions are considered. The collection of the eigenvalues (i.e., poles of $M(λ)$) and the residues of $M(λ)$ is called the spectral data of the operator. The complete characterization of spectral data (or, equivalently, $N\times N$ Weyl-Titchmarsh functions) corresponding to $N\times N$ self-adjoint square-integrable matrix-valued potentials is given, if all $N$ eigenvalues of the averaged potential are distinct.

Inverse spectral analysis for finite matrix-valued Jacobi operators

Consider the Jacobi operators $\cJ$ given by $(\cJ y)_n=a_ny_{n+1}+b_ny_n+a_{n-1}^*y_{n-1}$, $y_n\in \C^m$ (here $y_0=y_{p+1}=0$), where $b_n=b_n^*$ and $a_n:\det a_n\ne 0$ are the sequences of $m\ts m$ matrices, $n=1,..,p$. We study two cases: (i) $a_n=a_n^*>0$; (ii) $a_n$ is a lower triangular matrix with real positive entries on the diagonal (the matrix $\cJ$ is $(2m+1)$-band $mp\ts mp$ matrix with positive entries on the first and the last diagonals). The spectrum of $\cJ$ is a finite sequence of real eigenvalues $ł_1<...<ł_N$, where each eigenvalue $ł_j$ has multiplicity $k_j\le m$. We show that the mapping $(a,b)\mapsto \{(ł_j,k_j)\}_1^N\oplus \{additional spectral data \}$ is 1-to-1 and onto. In both cases (i), \nolinebreak (ii), we give the complete solution of the inverse problem.

The inverse problem for perturbed harmonic oscillator on the half-line with Dirichlet boundary conditions

We consider the perturbed harmonic oscillator $T_Dψ=-ψ''+x^2ψ+q(x)ψ$, $ψ(0)=0$, in $L^2(\R_+)$, where $q\in\bH_+=\{q', xq\in L^2(\R_+)\}$ is a real-valued potential. We prove that the mapping $q\mapsto{\rm spectral data}={\rm \{eigenvalues of\}T_D{\rm \}}\oplus{\rm \{norming constants\}}$ is one-to-one and onto. The complete characterization of the set of spectral data which corresponds to $q\in\bH_+$ is given.

The complete characterization of the set of spectral data which corresponds to $q\in H_+$ is given. Moreover, we solve the similar inverse problem for the family of boundary conditions $ψ'(0)=b ψ(0)$, $b\in R$.
