Bethe Algebra using Pure Spinors

We propose a gl(r)-covariant parameterisation of Bethe algebra appearing in so(2r) integrable models, demonstrate its geometric origin from a fused flag, and use it to compute the spectrum of periodic rational spin chains, for various choices of the rank r and Drinfeld polynomials.

Monodromy Bootstrap for SU(2|2) Quantum Spectral Curves: From Hubbard model to AdS3/CFT2

We propose a procedure to derive quantum spectral curves of AdS/CFT type by requiring that a specially designed analytic continuation around the branch point results in an automorphism of the underlying algebraic structure. In this way we derive four new curves. Two are based on SU(2|2) symmetry, and we show that one of them, under the assumption of square root branch points, describes Hubbard model. Two more are based on SU(2|2) x SU(2|2). In the special subcase of zero central charge, they both reduce to the unique nontrivial curve which furthermore has analytic properties compatible with PSU(1,1|2) x PSU(1,1|2) real form. A natural conjecture follows that this is the quantum spectral curve of AdS/CFT integrable system with AdS3 x S3 x T4 background supported by RR-flux. We support the conjecture by verifying its consistency with the massive sector of asymptotic Bethe equations in the large volume regime. For this spectral curve, it is compulsory that branch points are not of the square root type which qualitatively distinguishes it from the previously known cases.

Extended systems of Baxter Q-functions and fused flags I: simply-laced case

The spectrum of integrable models is often encoded in terms of commuting functions of a spectral parameter that satisfy functional relations. We propose to describe this commutative algebra in a covariant way by means of the extended Q-system that comprise Q-vectors in each of the fundamental representations of the (Langlands dual of) the underlying symmetry algebra. These Q-vectors turn out to parameterise a collection of complete flags which are fused with one another in a particular way. We show that the fused flag is a finite-difference oper in a particular gauge, explicit identification depends on a choice of a Coxeter element. The paper considers the case of simple Lie algebras with a simply-laced Dynkin diagram. For the $A_r$ series, the construction coincides with already known results in the literature. We apply the proposed formalism to the case of the $D_r$ series and the exceptional algebras $E_r$, $r=6,7,8$. In particular, we solve Hirota bilinear equations in terms of Q-functions and give the explicit character solution of the extended Q-system in the $D_r$ case. We also show how to build up the extended Q-system of $D_r$ type starting either from vectors, by a procedure similar to the $A_r$ scenario which however constructs a fused flag of isotropic spaces, or from pure spinors, \via fused Fierz relations. Finally, for the case of rational, trigonometric, and elliptic spin chains, we propose an explicit ansatz for the analytic structure of Q-functions of the extended Q-system. We conjecture that the extended Q-system constrained in such a way is always in bijection with the Bethe algebra of commuting transfer matrices of these models and moreover can be used to show that the Bethe algebra has a simple joint spectrum.

Separation of variables for rational gl(n) spin chains in any compact representation, via fusion, embedding morphism and Backlund flow

We propose a way to separate variables in a rational integrable $\mathfrak{gl}(n)$ spin chain with an arbitrary finite-dimensional irreducible representation at each site and with generic twisted periodic boundary conditions. Firstly, we construct a basis that diagonalises a higher-rank version of the Sklyanin B-operator; the construction is based on recursive usage of an embedding of a $\mathfrak{gl}(k)$ spin chain into a $\mathfrak{gl}(k+1)$ spin chain which is induced from a Yangian homomorphism and controlled by dual diagonals of Gelfand-Tsetlin patterns. Then, we show that the same basis can be equivalently constructed by action of Backlund-transformed fused transfer matricies, whence the Bethe wave functions factorise into a product of ascending Slater determinants in Baxter Q-functions. Finally, we construct raising and lowering operators -- the conjugate momenta -- as normal-ordered Wronskian expressions in Baxter Q-operators evaluated at zeros of B -- the separated variables. It is an immediate consequence of the proposed construction that the Bethe algebra comprises the maximal possible number of mutually commuting charges -- a necessary property for Bethe equations to be complete.

Completeness of Wronskian Bethe equations for rational gl(m|n) spin chains

We consider rational integrable supersymmetric gl(m|n) spin chains in the defining representation and prove the isomorphism between a commutative algebra of conserved charges (the Bethe algebra) and a polynomial ring (the Wronskian algebra) defined by functional relations between Baxter Q-functions that we call Wronskian Bethe equations. These equations, in contrast to standard nested Bethe equations, admit only physical solutions for any value of inhomogeneities and furthermore we prove that the algebraic number of solutions to these equations is equal to the dimension of the spin chain Hilbert space (modulo relevant symmetries). Both twisted and twist-less periodic boundary conditions are considered, the isomorphism statement uses, as a sufficient condition, that the spin chain inhomogeneities $θ_\ell$, $\ell=1,\ldots,L$ satisfy $θ_\ell+\hbar\neqθ_{\ell'}$ for $\ell<\ell'$. Counting of solutions is done in two independent ways: by computing a character of the Wronskian algebra and by explicitly solving the Bethe equations in certain scaling regimes supplemented with a proof that the algebraic number of solutions is the same for any value of $θ_\ell$. In particular, we consider the regime $θ_{\ell+1}/θ_{\ell}\gg 1$ for the twist-less chain where we succeed to provide explicit solutions and their systematic labelling with standard Young tableaux.

Dual Separated Variables and Scalar Products

Separation of variables (SoV) is an extremely efficient and elegant technique for analysing physical systems but its application to integrable spin chains was limited until recently to the simplest su(2) cases. In this paper we continue developing the SoV program for higher-rank spin chains and demonstrate how to derive the measure for the su(3) case. Our results are a natural consequence of factorisability of the wave function and functional orthogonality relations following from the interplay between Baxter equations for Q-functions and their dual.

Separated variables and wave functions for rational gl(N) spin chains in the companion twist frame

We propose a basis for rational gl(N) spin chains in an arbitrary rectangular representation $(S^A)$ that factorises the Bethe vectors into products of Slater determinants in Baxter Q-functions. This basis is constructed by repeated action of fused transfer matrices on a suitable reference state. We prove that it diagonalises the so-called B-operator, hence the operatorial roots of the latter are the separated variables. The spectrum of the separated variables is also explicitly computed and it turns out to be labelled by Gelfand-Tsetlin patterns. Our approach utilises a special choice of the spin chain twist which substantially simplifies derivations.

The full spectrum of AdS$_5$/CFT$_4$ II: Weak coupling expansion via the quantum spectral curve

We continue the effort to optimise and generalise the solution of the spectral problem of AdS$_5$/CFT$_4$ in the planar limit via integrability. We present a simple strategy to solve the quantum spectral curve perturbatively for general states by focusing on the $\mathbf{P}μ$-system. A Mathematica notebook with an implementation of this algorithm is provided, as well as an extensive database with a user-friendly interface containing more than 8.000 solutions of the QSC. When investigating the solution space, we observe a curious phenomenon: existence of solutions for which the Q-system degenerates in the limit $g\to 0$. These degeneracies are lifted at higher orders in perturbation theory. The degenerating solutions have auxiliary Bethe roots merging with branch points at weak coupling.

The full spectrum of AdS5/CFT4 I: Representation theory and one-loop Q-system

With the formulation of the quantum spectral curve for the AdS5/CFT4 integrable system, it became potentially possible to compute its full spectrum with high efficiency. This is the first paper in a series devoted to the explicit design of such computations, with no restrictions to particular subsectors being imposed. We revisit the representation theoretical classification of possible states in the spectrum and map the symmetry multiplets to solutions of the quantum spectral curve at zero coupling. To this end it is practical to introduce a generalisation of Young diagrams to the case of non-compact representations and define algebraic Q-systems directly on these diagrams. Furthermore, we propose an algorithm to explicitly solve such Q-systems that circumvents the traditional usage of Bethe equations and simplifies the computation effort. For example, our algorithm quickly obtains explicit analytic results for all 495 multiplets that accommodate single-trace operators in N=4 SYM with classical conformal dimension up to 13/2. We plan to use these results as the seed for solving the quantum spectral curve perturbatively to high loop orders in the next paper of the series.

The complete unitary dual of non-compact Lie superalgebra su(p,q|m) via the generalised oscillator formalism, and non-compact Young diagrams

We study the unitary representations of the non-compact real forms of the complex Lie superalgebra sl(n|m). Among them, only the real form su(p,q|m) (p+q=n) admits nontrivial unitary representations, and all such representations are of the highest-weight type (or the lowest-weight type). We extend the standard oscillator construction of the unitary representations of non-compact Lie superalgebras over standard Fock spaces to generalised Fock spaces which allows us to define the action of oscillator determinants raised to non-integer powers. We prove that the proposed construction yields all the unitary representations including those with continuous labels. The unitary representations can be diagrammatically represented by non-compact Young diagrams. We apply our general results to the physically important case of four-dimensional conformal superalgebra su(2,2|4) and show how it yields readily its unitary representations including those corresponding to supermultiplets of conformal fields with continuous (anomalous) scaling dimensions.

Fast analytic solver of rational Bethe equations

In this note we propose an approach for a fast analytic determination of all possible eigenstates of rational GL(N|M) integrable spin chains of given not too large length, in terms of Baxter Q-functions. We observe that all exceptional solutions, if any, are automatically correctly accounted. The key intuition behind the approach is that the equations on the Q-functions are determined solely by the Young diagram, and not by the choice of the rank of the GL symmetry. Hence we can choose arbitrary N and M that accommodate the desired representation. Then we consider all distinguished Q-functions at once, not only those following a certain Kac-Dynkin path.

T-system on T-hook: Grassmannian Solution and Twisted Quantum Spectral Curve

We propose an efficient grassmannian formalism for solution of bi-linear finite-difference Hirota equation (T-system) on T-shaped lattices related to the space of highest weight representations of $gl(K_1,K_2|M)$ superalgebra. The formalism is inspired by the quantum fusion procedure known from the integrable spin chains and is based on exterior forms of Baxter-like Q-functions. We find a few new interesting relations among the exterior forms of Q-functions and reproduce, using our new formalism, the Wronskian determinant solutions of Hirota equations known in the literature. Then we generalize this construction to the twisted Q-functions and demonstrate the subtleties of untwisting procedure on the examples of rational quantum spin chains with twisted boundary conditions. Using these observations, we generalize the recently discovered, in our paper with N. Gromov, AdS/CFT Quantum Spectral Curve for exact planar spectrum of AdS/CFT duality to the case of arbitrary Cartan twisting of AdS$_5\times$S$^5$ string sigma model. Finally, we successfully probe this formalism by reproducing the energy of gamma-twisted BMN vacuum at single-wrapping orders of weak coupling expansion.

Quantum spectral curve for arbitrary state/operator in AdS$_5$/CFT$_4$

We give a derivation of quantum spectral curve (QSC) - a finite set of Riemann-Hilbert equations for exact spectrum of planar N=4 SYM theory proposed in our recent paper Phys.Rev.Lett. 112 (2014). We also generalize this construction to all local single trace operators of the theory, in contrast to the TBA-like approaches worked out only for a limited class of states. We reveal a rich algebraic and analytic structure of the QSC in terms of a so called Q-system -- a finite set of Baxter-like Q-functions. This new point of view on the finite size spectral problem is shown to be completely compatible, though in a far from trivial way, with already known exact equations (analytic Y-system/TBA, or FiNLIE). We use the knowledge of this underlying Q-system to demonstrate how the classical finite gap solutions and the asymptotic Bethe ansatz emerge from our formalism in appropriate limits.

Quantum spectral curve as a tool for a perturbative quantum field theory

An iterative procedure perturbatively solving the quantum spectral curve of planar N=4 SYM for any operator in the sl(2) sector is presented. A Mathematica notebook executing this procedure is enclosed. The obtained results include 10-loop computations of the conformal dimensions of more than ten different operators. We prove that the conformal dimensions are always expressed, at any loop order, in terms of multiple zeta-values with coefficients from an algebraic number field determined by the one-loop Baxter equation. We observe that all the perturbative results that were computed explicitly are given in terms of a smaller algebra: single-valued multiple zeta-values times the algebraic numbers.

Six-loop anomalous dimension of twist-two operators in planar N=4 SYM theory

We compute the general form of the six-loop anomalous dimension of twist-two operators with arbitrary spin in planar N=4 SYM theory. First we find the contribution from the asymptotic Bethe ansatz. Then we reconstruct the wrapping terms from the first 35 even spin values of the full six-loop anomalous dimension computed using the quantum spectral curve approach. The obtained anomalous dimension satisfies all known constraints coming from the BFKL equation, the generalised double-logarithmic equation, and the small spin expansion.

Multiple zeta functions and double wrapping in planar N=4 SYM

Using the FiNLIE solution of the AdS/CFT Y-system, we compute the anomalous dimension of the Konishi operator in planar N=4 SYM up to eight loops, i.e. up to the leading double wrapping order. At this order a non reducible Euler-Zagier sum, zeta(1,2,8), appears for the first time. We find that at all orders in perturbation, every spectral-dependent quantity of the Y-system is expressed through multiple Hurwitz zeta functions, hence we provide a Mathematica package to manipulate these functions, including the particular case of Euler-Zagier sums. Furthermore, we conjecture that only Euler-Zagier sums can appear in the answer for the anomalous dimension at any order in perturbation theory. We also resum the leading transcendentality terms of the anomalous dimension at all orders, obtaining a simple result in terms of Bessel functions. Finally, we demonstrate that exact Bethe equations should be related to an absence of poles condition that becomes especially nontrivial at double wrapping.

Quantum spectral curve for AdS_5/CFT_4

We present a new formalism, alternative to the old TBA-like approach, for solution of the spectral problem of planar N = 4 SYM. It takes a concise form of a non-linear matrix Riemann-Hilbert problem in terms of a few Q-functions. We demonstrate the formalism for two types of observables - local operators at weak coupling and cusped Wilson lines in a near BPS limit.

Six-loop Konishi anomalous dimension from the Y-system

We compute the Konishi anomalous dimension perturbatively up to six loop using the finite set of functional equations derived recently by Gromov, Kazakov, Leurent and Volin. The recursive procedure can be in principle extended to higher loops, the only obstacle being the complexity of the computation.
