Dynamical system describing cloud of particles in relativistic and non-relativistic framework

We consider fairly general class of dynamical systems under the assumptions guaranteeing the existence of Lyapunov function around some nontrivial stationary point. Moreover, the existence of heteroclinic trajectory is proved motivated by integrated densities approach to some astrophysical models of self-gravitating particles both in relativistic and non--relativistic frameworks. Finally, with the aid of geometric and topological reasoning we find the upper bounds for this trajectory yielding the critical mass--radius theorem for the astrophysical model.

Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff Equation

The existence of solutions to Tolman-Openheimer-Volkoff equation with linear equation of state modeling relativistic cloud of interacting particles is proved for mass parameter below certain threshold. For the intermediate values of mass parameters multiplicity result holds. For the small mass parameter the uniqueness is guaranteed. Moreover, there is a threshold value of the mass, which can not be exceeded. It is achieved by considering the related dynamical system in the rescaled mass-density variables which is governed by the global Lyapunov function with sink. Some preliminary extensions to nonlinear equation of state are discussed with numerical density profiles.

Optimal control of nonlinear systems governed by Dirichlet fractional Laplacian in the minimax framework

We consider an optimal control problem governed by a class of boundary value problem with the spectral Dirichlet fractional Laplacian. Some sufficient condition for the existence of optimal processes is stated. The proof of the main result relies on variational structure of the problem. To show that boundary value problem with the Dirichlet fractional Laplacian has a weak solution we employ the renowned Ky Fan Theorem.

Dynamical system modeling fermionic limit

The existence of multiple radial solutions to the elliptic equation modeling fermionic cloud of interacting particles is proved for the limiting Planck constant and intermediate values of mass parameters. It is achieved by considering the related nonautonomous dynamical system for which the passage to the limit can be established due to the continuity of the solutions with respect to the parameter going to zero.

Application of Mountain Pass Theorem to superlinear equations with fractional Laplacian controlled by distributed parameters and boundary data

In the paper we consider a boundary value problem involving a differential equation with the fractional Laplacian $(-Δ)^{α/2}$ for $α\in\left( 1,2\right) $ and some superlinear and subcritical nonlinearity $G_{z}$ provided with a nonhomogeneous Dirichlet exterior boundary condition. Some sufficient conditions under which the set of weak solutions to the boundary value problem is nonempty and depends continuously in the Painleve-Kuratowski sense on distributed parameters and exterior boundary data are stated. The proofs of the existence results rely on the Mountain Pass Theorem. The application of the continuity results to some optimal control problem is also provided.

Global invertibility and implicit function theorems by mountain pass theorem

We formulate some global invertibility and implicit function theorems. We extend the result of Idczak, Skowron and Walczak on the invertibility of the operators to the case of the operators with critical points. The proof relies on the Mountain Pass Theorem combined with the Palais-Smale condition guaranteeing the claim by the invertibility of the first or the third derivative. I. e. how to solve $x^3=y$?

Systems described by Volterra type integral operators

In the paper some sufficient condition for the nonlinear integral operator of the Volterra type to be a diffeomorphism defined on the space of absolutely continuous functions are formulated. The proof relies on consideration of the linearized equation together with Palais-Smale condition, thus a combination of topological and variational methods is used. The applications of the result to the control systems with feedback and to the specific nonlinear Volterra equation are presented.
