Analysis of possible systematic errors in the Oslo method

In this work, we have reviewed the Oslo method, which enables the simultaneous extraction of level density and gamma-ray transmission coefficient from a set of particle-gamma coincidence data. Possible errors and uncertainties have been investigated. Typical data sets from various mass regions as well as simulated data have been tested against the assumptions behind the data analysis.

The Nuclear Science References (NSR) Database and Web Retrieval System

The Nuclear Science References (NSR) database together with its associated Web interface, is the world's only comprehensive source of easily accessible low- and intermediate-energy nuclear physics bibliographic information for more than 200,000 articles since the beginning of nuclear science. The weekly-updated NSR database provides essential support for nuclear data evaluation, compilation and research activities. The principles of the database and Web application development and maintenance are described. Examples of nuclear structure, reaction and decay applications are specifically included. The complete NSR database is freely available at the websites of the National Nuclear Data Center http://www.nndc.bnl.gov/nsr and the International Atomic Energy Agency http://www-nds.iaea.org/nsr.

Hard Gammas from Low-Energy Heavy-Ion Collisions

Single-particle radiative mechanism of $γ$ emission embedded into the pre-equilibrium exciton model is used to calculate the $γ$ emission from a decay of $^{160}$Er$^{*}$ created in two different ways. The initial stage of a reaction is described using momentum-space overlaps of colliding nuclei. We can reproduce the main features of the observed $γ$ energy spectra including the fact that the spectrum observed in more symmetric combination is slightly harder than in the other case.
