Quantum Crossovers Revealed by Local Measurements

Quantum crossover phenomena play a central role in few-body open quantum systems, yet their identification often relies on global or model-dependent indicators. In this work, we demonstrate that crossovers can be robustly characterized through purely local measurements, establishing a direct connection between local quantum Fisher information and the onset of crossover behavior. We further demonstrate that quantum obesity does not, in general, generalize the quantum steering ellipsoid volume as a universal indicator of crossover. Instead, we identify regimes in which the ellipsoid volume remains insensitive to the transition, while the relevant signatures are encoded in the behavior of the local Bloch vector. These results reveal a geometric distinction between local and global indicators of crossovers.

Nanomechanically Induced Transparency

In this paper, we investigate a nanomechanically induced transparency (NIT) effects that arises from the coupling of a nanoelectromechanical system and a trapped ion. By confining the ion in mesoscopic traps and capacitively coupling it with a nanoelectromechanical system suspended as electrodes, the research is intricately focussed on the implications of including the ion's degrees of freedom. The Lamb--Dicke approximation is crucial to understanding the effects of phonon exchange with electronic qubits and revealing transparency phenomena in this unique coupling. The results underline the importance of the Lamb--Dicke approximation in modelling the effects of transparency windows in nanoelectromechanical systems.

Quantum resources of the steady-state of three coupled qubits: Microscopic versus Phenomenological model

Quantum resources, such as entanglement, steering, and Bell nonlocality, are evaluated for three coupled qubits in the steady-state configuration. We employ the phenomenological master equation and the microscopic master equation to probe such quantum resources, which provide very different results depending on the system configuration. In particular, steering and Bell nonlocality are null within the phenomenological model, while they reach considerable values within the microscopic model. These results show that the phenomenological approach is not able to capture all quantum resources of the system. We also provide an analytical expression for the steady-state and quantum resources of the system composed of three coupled qubits in the zero temperature limit. Such results demonstrate that quantum resources between two qubits are strongly affected by the third qubit in a nontrivial way.

Two-mode squeezing operator in circuit QED

We theoretically investigate the implementation of the two-mode squeezing operator in circuit quantum electrodynamics. Inspired by a previous scheme for optical cavities [Phys. Rev. A $\textbf{73}$, 043803(2006)], we employ a superconducting qubit coupled to two nondegenerate quantum modes and use a driving field on the qubit to adequately control the resonator-qubit interaction. Based on the generation of two-mode squeezed vacuum states, firstly we analyze the validity of our model in the ideal situation and then we investigate the influence of the dissipation mechanisms on the generation of the two-mode squeezing operation, namely the qubit and resonator mode decays and qubit dephasing. We show that our scheme allows the generation of highly squeezed states even with the state-of-the-art parameters, leading to a theoretical prediction of more than 10 dB of two-mode squeezing. Furthermore, our protocol is able to squeeze an arbitrary initial state of the resonators, which makes our scheme attractive for future applications in continuous-variable quantum information processing and quantum metrology in the realm of circuit quantum electrodynamics.
