Towards higher-spin holography in ambient space of any dimension

We derive the propagators for higher-spin master fields in anti-de Sitter space of arbitrary dimension. A method is developed to construct the propagators directly without solving any differential equations. The use of the ambient space, where AdS is represented as a hyperboloid and its conformal boundary as a projective light-cone, simplifies the approach and makes a direct contact between boundary-to-bulk propagators and two-point functions of conserved currents.

Higher-spin algebras and cubic interactions for simple mixed-symmetry fields in AdS spacetime

Nonabelian Fradkin-Vasiliev cubic interactions for dual-graviton-like gauge fields with gravity and themselves are constructed in anti-de Sitter spacetime. The Young diagrams of gauge potentials have shapes of 'tall-hooks', i.e. two columns the second of height one. The underlying nonabelian algebra is a Clifford algebra with the anti-de Sitter signature. We also discuss the universal enveloping realization of higher-spin algebras, showing that there is a one-parameter family of algebras compatible with unitarity, which is reminiscent of 3d deformed oscillators.

Gravitational cubic interactions for a simple mixed-symmetry gauge field in AdS and flat backgrounds

Cubic interactions between the simplest mixed-symmetry gauge field and gravity are constructed in anti-de Sitter (AdS) and flat backgrounds. Nonabelian cubic interactions are obtained in AdS following various perturbative methods including the Fradkin-Vasiliev construction, with and without Stueckelberg fields. The action that features the maximal number of Stueckelberg fields can be considered in the flat limit without loss of physical degrees of freedom. The resulting interactions in flat space are compared with a classification of vertices obtained via the antifield cohomological perturbative method. It is shown that the gauge algebra becomes abelian in the flat limit, in contrast to what happens for totally symmetric gauge fields in AdS.

Gauge fields in (A)dS within the unfolded approach: algebraic aspects

It has recently been shown that generalized connections of the (A)dS space symmetry algebra provide an effective geometric and algebraic framework for all types of gauge fields in (A)dS, both for massless and partially-massless. The equations of motion are equipped with a nilpotent operator called $σ_-$ whose cohomology groups correspond to the dynamically relevant quantities like differential gauge parameters, dynamical fields, gauge invariant field equations, Bianchi identities etc. In the paper the $σ_-$-cohomology is computed for all gauge theories of this type and the field-theoretical interpretation is discussed. In the simplest cases the $σ_-$-cohomology is equivalent to the ordinary Lie algebra cohomology.

Gauge fields in (anti)-de Sitter space and Connections of its symmetry algebra

The generalized connections of the (anti)-de Sitter space symmetry algebra, which are differential forms of arbitrary degree with values in any irreducible (spin)-tensor representation of the (anti)-de Sitter algebra, are studied. It is shown that arbitrary-spin gauge field in (anti)-de Sitter space, massless or partially-massless, can be described by a single connection. A 'one-to-one' correspondence between the connections of the (anti)-de Sitter algebra and the gauge fields is established. The gauge symmetry is manifest and auxiliary fields are automatically included in the formalism.

Frame-like Actions for Massless Mixed-Symmetry Fields in Minkowski space

A frame-like action for arbitrary mixed-symmetry bosonic massless fields in Minkowski space is constructed. The action is given in a simple form and consists of two terms for a field of any spin. The fields and gauge parameters are certain tensor-valued differential forms. The formulation is based on the unfolded form of equations for mixed-symmetry fields.

Mixed-Symmetry Massless Fields in Minkowski space Unfolded

The unfolded formulation for arbitrary massless mixed-symmetry bosonic and fermionic fields in Minkowski space is constructed. The unfolded form is proved to be uniquely determined by the requirement that all gauge symmetries are manifest. The unfolded equations have the form of a covariant constancy condition. The gauge fields and gauge parameters are differential forms with values in certain irreducible Lorentz tensors. The unfolded equations for bosons determine completely those for fermions. The proposed unfolded formulation also contains dual formulations for massless mixed-symmetry fields.

Transverse Invariant Higher Spin Fields

It is shown that a symmetric massless bosonic higher-spin field can be described by a traceless tensor field with reduced (transverse) gauge invariance. The Hamiltonian analysis of the transverse gauge invariant higher-spin models is used to control a number of degrees of freedom.

Higher Spin Conformal Currents in Minkowski Space

Using unfolded formulation of free equations for massless fields of all spins we obtain explicit form of higher-spin conformal conserved charges bilinear in 4d massless fields of arbitrary spins.

Geometric Formulation for Partially Massless Fields

The manifestly gauge invariant formulation for free symmetric partially massless fields in $(A)dS_d$ is given in terms of gauge connections and linearized curvatures that take values in the irreducible representations of $(o(d-1,2)) o(d,1)$ described by two-row Young tableaux, in which the lengths of the first and second row are, respectively, associated with spin and depth of partial masslessness.
