Dark discrete breather modes in monoaxial chiral helimagnet with easy-plane anisotropy

Nonlinearity and discreteness are two pivotal factors for an emergence of discrete breather excitations in various media. We argue that these requirements are met in the forced ferromagnetic phase of the monoaxial chiral helimagnet CrNb$_3$S$_6$ due to specific domain structure of the compound. The stationary, time-periodic breather modes appear as the discrete breather lattice solutions whose period mismatches with a system size. Thanks to easy-plane single-ion anisotropy intrinsic to CrNb$_3$S$_6$, these modes are of the dark type with frequencies lying within the linear spin-wave band, close to its bottom edge. They represent cnoidal states of magnetization, similar to the well-known soliton lattice ground state, with differing but limited number of embedded $2π$-kinks. Linear stability of these dark breather modes is verified by means of the Floquet analysis. Their energy controlled by two parameters, namely the breather lattice period and amplitude, falls off linearly with a growth of the kink number. These results may pave a new path to design spintronic resonators on the base of chiral helimagnets.

On the Soliton Model of a Point Particle Spin

A system consisting of a point material particle and a scalar field described by the nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation has been considered. It has been shown that, when taking into account relativistic effects, in the case of small rest masses of a particle an energy minimum at zero velocity is impossible for such a particle. It has been proved that under certain parameters the spin state of a particle has a lower energy than its steady state does. Such a behavior is interesting for the construction of soliton models of spin. By a point particle spin an intrinsic angular momentum (orbital, in strict sense, but with a short orbital radius) of a point particle is meant.

On the analogy between consequences of the breather model of particles interaction and anomalous flow of Helium-II

The article deals with the sin-Gordon model and considers the interaction of breathers localized on moving impurities. Numerical simulation of collective behavior of such objects revealed the analogy between the models properties and the properties of Helium-II anomalous flow. The scheme of the experiment was proposed to validate the breather model of superfluidity.

About the corollaries of the soliton-breather models of particles tunneling on the example of the nonlinear Klein-Gordon and Schrodinger equation

The paper presents soliton-breather models of particles tunneling on the example of Klein-Gordon and Schrodinger equation nonlinear breathers. It is shown that in this case the non-linearity registration should lead to spatial restrictions in breathers wave properties observation and to appearance of radiation during tunneling. The paper also presents a new type of Schrodinger equation, which leads to the solutions localization in a space three-dimensional spherically symmetric case.

Excitation of high-amplitude localized nonlinear waves as a result of interaction of kink with attractive impurity in sine-Gordon equation

We study properties of the localized solitons to the sine-Gordon equation excited on the attractive impurity by a moving kink. The cases of one- and two-dimensional spatially extended impurities are considered. For the case of one-dimensional impurity the possibility of excitation of the first even and odd high-amplitude impurity modes by the moving kink is demonstrated. For the case of two-dimensional impurity we show the possibility of excitation of the nonlinear high-amplitude waves of new type called here breathing pulson and breathing 2D soliton. We suggest different analytical expressions to model these nonlinear excitations. The dependencies of the oscillation frequency and the amplitude of the excited impurity modes on the impurity parameters are reported.

Reversal process of a magnetic vortex core under the combined action of a perpendicular field and spin transfer torque

In a nanopillar with dipolarly coupled vortices, we present an experimental and simulation study to understand how the interplay between the bias field and spin transfer torque impacts reversal of the vortex cores. We find that, depending on the current values, vortex cores might experience different physical mechanisms for their reversal, namely a static or a dynamic switching. We believe that our results might be useful in the context of vortex based non volatile memories, as a current controlled selective core switching is proposed.
